Rams 360: Nate Landman’s Extension, Kobie Turner Mic’d Up vs. Buccaneers & Celebrating Aaron Donald

This week on Rams 360. Hey man, coach, we been talking about all week we got an opportunity to ascend. Dominate another man for 60 minutes. They got there. Come the conductor breaks the ground. One of my favorite things about this team is how connected we’ve stayed in. I think this team is the pinnacle of my football experience. This is the most happy I’ve ever been playing the game. I think I played all right. You know, a couple plays I won’t back, but I think I played all right. All this and more on Rams 360. Well, happy Thanksgiving week everyone and welcome to the Coach McVey show presented by Microsoft Surface Co-Pilot Plus PC. I’m JB Long with the head coach of your Los Angeles Rams, the 9 and2 and running first in the NFC Los Angeles Rams. Here is Shawn McFay. Good to see you. Good to see you too, man. That was a fun night at Sofi. We’ve had some mountain top moments there, but that one felt special. Yeah, it was fun and I thought the atmosphere was outstanding and and I thought our guys gave the fans a chance to get into the game right away. You know, get the stop defensively offensively overcame some situations that we want to try to avoid, you know, some big third down conversions, getting into some second and longs, but um get a touchdown and then for Kobe to be able to get the touchdown to to go up 14 nothing, then it leads to a 21 nothing. It was it was big. and guys have started really fast and we got to continue to be able to do that. Yeah. All right, let’s start with the last thing I heard last night which was Devonte Adams uh addressing the media saying this is the most fun he’s ever had playing football in his life as the leader of this locker room. What does that mean? That means a lot, you know, and and he’s a real one and he’s not going to say it if he doesn’t mean it. And he’s had an amazing amount of positive experiences to draw on. But I think it’s about the people. You know, you look at uh his teammates, how much he enjoys, whether it’s um his receiver room, whether it’s guys on defense, whether it’s the relationship between he and Matthew that’s continuing to develop and blossom. Um his relationship with his coaches, it’s pretty special. But it’s always about people. Um and I think there’s meaningful relationships that are impactful. I think he enjoys the rhythm and he’s been a huge part of it. And you know, that’s that’s pretty cool to hear and it means a lot. And let’s continue to do some cool stuff together. Everyone loves to win. I mean, that makes it fun. But I was thinking this morning about how there was an element of fun that predated the winning for the Rams. Like, if you want to go back to Maui, the offseason program, like there was a joy around this group before you ever won a game. Is that true that the sequencing of of fun and winning? Well, I think good football is fun, but I think you’re exactly right. And I think there’s a genuine enjoyment for what we do. Do you enjoy coming in? Do you do you love football? Do you love doing it with people that have similar values and principles but that also have different personalities that helps you expand and broaden your horizons? And so, um, I I agree with that. And then I think it’s only gotten better. And one of my favorite things about this team is how connected we’ve stayed in some really challenging, you know, the the two losses are as heartbreaking of losses as I’ve been a part of in regards to how they went down, but the responses have been exactly in alignment. And I think every single experience, whether it be positive um or some of the challenging ones, has made this group what it is through 11 games and want to continue on this theme, but but it I I think you’re right in terms of predating some of the positive experiences that we’ve seen when the games are unfolding. Do you coach how to handle success, how to let success kind of flywheel into more success? Well, I don’t know about that. I think what you try to do is have a commitment to, you know, certain standards and and a consistency of your weekly rhythm, your approach. We try to be inside out, whether there’s good things going on or whether there’s, you know, negative things going on more than anything else. I think outside and it’s such a blessing how many people care about what’s going on and the amount of attention that these guys get for for doing good stuff, but uh it shouldn’t affect our ability to be inside out and and what’s important is is how we’re present, how we continue to take steps. I think the thing that I’m encouraged about is the way guys are playing, but man, there’s a lot of room for growth. And that’s collectively. That’s coaches and players alike. Um, there’s a lot of positive experiences, but I think that when you have the right kinds of people and they understand that the confidence they have and that they play with on Sundays is earned through work, um, and that humility is only a day away in this league, our guys understand that. And so, we try to be consistent in in our approach whether we win or lose. Uh, it is Thanksgiving week, of course. Um, and I wonder how you handle first of all the holiday schedule going on the road to Carolina with the team this week. Yeah, really what you do is, uh, you just move things up on Thursday, so you have an accelerated day so guys can get time with their families. Um, still think it’s important, you know, that is so important to get the appropriate time with their families, but want to make sure that all right, are we able to adjust and adapt, but still be able to get the work that’s needed to be able to do what we want to try to be able to do or give ourselves the best chance to do that on Sunday against the Panthers. So really the only adjustment that we make is we kind of accelerate and move up to Thursday, but that’s an important day in our work rhythm and hopefully we won’t have rain this week. That’s right. It’s a good point. Although I heard you practice pretty well in that rain. Um the Rams have the longest Thanksgiving game drought in the league. Haven’t played on that holiday since 75. Would you like to play on Thanksgiving some year? You know what? I I whatever the schedule is, I I don’t worry about the things that are a little bit outside of my control. So if we had to play on Thanksgiving, great. If not, we’ll still enjoy uh you know what we’ve been doing. very disciplined answer by you. I appreciate it. How about your sense of gratitude this holiday season? Yeah. Uh you know, just people in my life, you know, the the the players, the coaches, my wife and family. Um you know, I just have a lot to be thankful for. Uh but most importantly, you know, as it relates to just being here, I’ve said it before, you know, it’s a it’s a real blessing to be able to be around a lot of people that your motivation is I don’t want to let you down. Want to consistently try to do right by them. Um they inspire me to want to be better and uh my cup’s always full for that reason. You’re a blessing to us too, man. Thank you for your time and for everything you’ve done for the Rams. Have a great Thursday um and Sunday in Carolina. Let’s do it. All right, for McVey, JB Long, thank you for joining us. Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving as well. This is the Coach McVey Show presented by Microsoft Surface Co-Pilot Plus PC. Coming up next on Rams 360. Yes, sir. Let’s go, boy. Hey, man. Coach been talking about all week. We got an opportunity to ascend. Opportunity had ascension. But f all that. We got an opportunity to go dominate another man for 16 minutes. We going to punch him in the mouth for 16 minutes. Y’all know what it is. It’s on us. Here we go. Church going three. 1 2 3. Let’s go. Let’s get it, brother. Play, boy. Let’s go. Hey, talk about that game ball, dog. This year we can get that game. Time to get it. Hey, set the tone, boy. They want the ball. FBS. It’s time. It’s time. Helmet high. Shotgun snap. Pressure up the middle. They got there. Kobe the conductor breaks the sound. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. out pockets. He did it. That’s it. Finally. Then he motions across. You got the duo front side or you got the option to do a fade to feed ball right side. Devonte got it. Matthew Stafford. I just told you. I just explained it to you. Here go. Go. How you got Michael Jordan and LeBron on your team, bro? Baker in the gun. Second down and 12. Sets his feet early. froze right flat, bubbled, and it is taken away. Hey, you out of breath from that? I’m out of breath from running down celebrating the pick and then celebrating getting a sack. Toe tap. Toe tap. Toe tap. Puka, you’re unreal. Oh, sorry, R. Hold that rock, too. He is different, bro. Go, Steve. Yes, Steve. Steve. Oh, hey, you see them. Shotgun, helmet, high snap. Stafford drills one back of the end zone. Cut for a touchdown. Ah, dang. TD, break him down. Why you break down Mike like that? Michael Jackson, that’s a good ball, boy. Oh, I can’t do this, bro. My feet not touching the ground. It’s hurting my back. You won’t try it, though. On the helmet. You don’t understand cuz can your feet touch the ground? Mine Mine is like hanging off the ground. I feel like a little kid. Not like feeling like a little kid when I’m playing football. This where we show what we about. This where we show what we about, bro. No sir, we there. Snap. His protection breaks down. He escapes right and throws on the move. And another pass break up by E4. You different boy. You different boy. Yes, sir. Let’s go, boy. Snap to Bridgewwater from his 18. Protection breaks down. He takes off. He is tripped up and sacked. Kobe Turner. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Yeah. Let’s go, boy. Two-piece. I need me a three. I want a meal. What Meek Mill said? He said, “I used to pray for times like these rhyme like these and a matter of times when the quarterback’s holding the ball like these.” Cheers. I’m telling you, the world. Let’s go. World, dog. You think Vito will give me his jersey after the game if I ask for it? Where is Vita? Dang. I’m not going to get that Vita jersey, am I? Big fan of your game, bro. Appreciate it. Keep falling out there, bro. Appreciate you, bro. Yep. No doubt. You think I can get that jersey? I’mma send you one. Uh, I’m going send you one, too. Yeah. Devonte had to ask for this. I’m going say I’mma send you this. Perfect. Just send me another one. Yeah, I got you. Much love, bro. So much respect for your game, dog. Yeah, brother. You, too. Let’s go. Doky Wolfski, let’s go. Yeah, baby. Yeah, baby. Yeah. Where does Thanksgiving sit in your holiday power rankings? Top two. One and two. I haven’t figured it out, but it’s top two for sure. Running next to Chris. Yeah. Okay. You are watching Rams 360. Well, one thing I know we’re all grateful for this holiday season is the depth of the 2025 Los Angeles Rams. players like Josh Wallace, Davis Allen, and Warren McClendon stepping into larger roles with some key starters on injured reserve. Want to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. Please enjoy this conversation with Warren McClendon as we look forward to a trip to Carolina. Well, great to sit down with you on a winning streak and coming off a prime time victory. What was Sunday night football at Sofi like for you? It was fun. You know, anytime I’m able to get out there and play, it’s always fun. So, just being out there and playing with the guys was pretty fun. Cool night to be a starter, too. I understand your cousin is part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff. Yeah. Yeah, it was pretty cool to see him. I haven’t seen him since I left Georgia, actually, but it was pretty cool to see him. Got to talk to him before game and after the game. So, it was pretty cool. So, that’s Brian, who played at Georgia and for the Bears and is currently the Tampa Bay wide receivers coach. Yes. And then his father, your uncle Willie, also played at Georgia in the league. Wow. Okay. What about Warren McClennon Senior? What’s he like? Uh, he’s cool. I mean, he’s a laid-back guy. He’s just kind of just goes with the flow and he he should have played football, but he wanted to be a hooper, so he chose the basketball route and went and played college basketball. How’s your jumper? It’s getting there. Yeah. Oh, you’re still working on it? Yeah, I’m still working on it. I was my back to the goal type of guy. I like to post up. Gotcha. But football was always your path. Yeah, for the most part. Yeah. Right on. You’ve got to play what, four games as a starter this year. One of them was in prime time on Thursday night football against the Niners. What’s different about playing under the lights in this league? It’s just it’s just a different feeling. You know, those butterflies before the game and then running out the tunnel and then it’s just just need that first snap once you get that first snap out the way and it’s like smooth selling from there on. But right, it’s pretty cool. How do you feel you performed? I think I played all right. You know, couple plays I won’t back, but I think I played all right. That’s the case in any game, right? Have you ever played a perfect game or you’re like, I got every single one of those? No. What was it like to spike Colobby Parkinson’s touchdown? It was pretty cool. I I was hoping I had a better a better spike. It went straight forward. I hoping, you know, I got a little height on it, but actually, my dad, I was talking to him. He was like, “You got to spike the ball.” I was like, “I don’t know.” But it was pretty cool that he was able to come to the game and I was able to spike it. Awesome. That’s great. Where does Thanksgiving sit in your holiday power rankings? Top two. One and two. I haven’t figured it out, but it’s top two for sure. Running next to Christmas. Yeah. Okay. So, we’re in your wheelhouse. This is This is your time of year on and off the field. I like Oh, yeah. What is the ideal time to serve a Thanksgiving meal? And the reason I asked this is because my family was always late in the 7:00 hour. And that drove me nuts. And I understand more people like to skew earlier in the day. Yeah. I would say like three. Okay. What? Uh the Mac, what is the Macy day parade? TV. Yeah. When does that normally end? Around. I don’t know. By the time the lines kick off, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. So, whenever that ends normally, that’s when food’s ready to go. Wow. Okay. So, nice and early. Yeah. So, you’re going for seconds and thirds over the course of the day. I I like that. I was going to ask whether the best serving is that first one on Thursday or the leftovers on Friday. It’s the leftovers. Yeah. Okay. Any concerns about your Georgia Bulldogs this week? No, not at all. They got Georgia Tech. Okay, they’re going to be a playoff team. Yeah, they’re going to be SEC champions. I hope so. Okay. I hope so. There’s good Georgia vibes in this locker room here in Los Angeles, too. So, the Georgia Bulldogs have been great to the LA Rams and we’re glad to have you on the field. We wish Rob Havenstein well. Can’t wait to see him get back to full health, but it’s nice to know there’s another starter behind them. Yes, sir. Enjoy your Thanksgiving feast with your family and go get the Carolina Panthers. That’s right. Thank you. All right. Coming up next on Rams 360. Just so grateful to be a part of this team and, you know, be led by Shawn and Shula and Money. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Coming to the league undrafted, you never know where your opportunity is going to come. Once the Rams came into conversation, it was like, “All right, this is the place I need to be. This is a great fit.” Excited to do it tomorrow, man. Sir, happy for you. Thank you guys for believing in me. Give me the shot. I think this team is the pinnacle of my football experience. This is the most happy I’ve ever been playing the game off the field around the guys with these coaches in this city. It feels like home. The impressive thing about him is how he not only just came in and learned the defense, he became so confident that he could start talking about other spots. Hey, let’s take the field. Let’s go. Hey, take the field. Take the field. As an inside backer, you’re talking to the front. You’re talking to Sarah. You have a piece in the whole defense. Keep up the energy, boys. execute middle linebacker position, that leadership quality just grows. I’ve always grown up in the defense where the mic linebacker is kind of the quarterback of the defense, you know, directing traffic and that’s that’s a place where I feel comfortable in. Hey, way to grind that series out. The way that Lamb Man commands the huddle, the way that he’s getting punch out opportunities, the way that they’re fitting up the run. I mean, I’m ecstatic if you can’t tell already. Um, I’m ecstatic about, you know, what this defense is going to be and ultimately how it’s going to help this team win football games. Houston driving. Houston needs a touchdown. Can you describe that punch out play? You know, we’re down the red zone. It’s getting to a long drive. Your job and win. Hey, win on three. 1 2 3. Where? Stra throws right side number. The ball’s fumbled. It’s on the deck. Braden Fisk scoops it up. The whole sideline erupts. The celebration out of control. Kind of blacked out in that moment for whatever reason. You know, I took my helmet off and just ran straight to the guys. Celebrate with the team. Whole sideline came to celebrate. Your world count. The land. Watch out. The land. Couldn’t be more proud to be a Ram, be part of this organization. Super grateful for them giving us the chance and then the teammates for taking me in, allowing them to earn their respect. How would you describe the impact that Nate Layman has brought to your defense this year? He has a certain energy that you can’t even like describe. Hey, time to lock the game. They got to take this four quarters, baby. Nate’s probably one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. So, like by day two or three, he kind of understood everything and then he was who you see now. Fumbled. Rams are on it. A land man that charred it loose. It’s the peanut punch. Land man with another forced fumble. This dude is everywhere. They push the pocket to his lap. The ball’s chopped out. It’s a fumble. LA is on it. Wherever he is, he finds a way to get the football. He would tell you it’s practice performance equals game reality. He’s constantly going after him. Whether it’s OTAAS, whether it’s training camp, any type of practice that the ball’s out there, he’s looking for those punch ops. Jonathan Taylor veering to his right, gobbled up. Coming to work every day being myself, not trying to do too much, just trying to be the player that I am. Nate Lman gets LA off the grat. Being able to learn from him, just build an energy to where we just we could just flow off each other. The standard that he hold me to, the standard I hold him to. It’s been really fun. Everything we work hard for football. Where would you rather be? Let’s go. Just so grateful to be a part of this team and, you know, be led by Shawn and Shula and Money. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Very first time that he ever put on a Hamilton shoulder pads. No one could block Aaron. No one. Aaron Donald is one of the greatest players you’ve ever seen. Stay tuned for more Rams 360. The very first time that he ever put on a Hamilton shoulder pad, no one could block Aaron. No one. Aaron Donald is one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen. He’s in the same conversations the Lawrence Taylor of the world. What did you see on that last play that enables you to do what you did to make that stop? Strange sele everyone and that is his legacy. God makes them ones every now and then. His legacy is our next play. Hey, res 1 2 3. Here we go. Build that man’s statue right now. Greatest of all time. World champs. Give it everything you got. That’s all I’m going to get to. Shotgun. I’m shot in the 20. He’s going to be sacked. And guess who? He won it all. We’re talking Aaron Donald. Every rep, every doubt, and every moment, hard work paid off. Thanks for watching and be sure to tune in next week for more Rams 360. Thanks for watching. 1. Keep up the fast starts. Keep blowing out the opponents if you can. Don’t take chances with the close wins. Make a statement to the league. I love this team!

  2. Great Landman Resign! I appreciate McVay making adjustments and being more aggressive going for fourth & shorts. defensive is playing great. cleaned up STs. I would like to see more passing plays on 1st downs. The defense tends to know the running game is coming. Go Rams!

  3. The 2025 Rams are a joke. A complete joke. They always lose games that they should win. They barely showed up today and they deserve to lose Forbes. Junior is awful. Absolutely awful can’t cover anybody the Rams went from being front runners to now they will not have home-field advantage if they make the playoffs.
