And now Craig Conso wants to know why the infield fly rule wasn’t in effect. The umpire is going to say no one had a beat on the ball at all. You don’t call the infield fly rule until you’re sure that it’s playable. We knew that this son would play havoc. But a quarter of the country has been tuned into the games on TV up here. I’m telling you, it’s one of my biggest pet peeves. The pitcher can catch that ball instead of a first baseman running in full speed from about 120 ft away.
