[Blake] Craig Berube says Joseph Woll will be out “a week.” Says, “we’re not expecting it to be too long.”

    Real post, assuming this timeline sticks, it’s kinda what I suspected. Clearly enough discomfort to sit him for a bit, but if it were something serious, he wouldn’t have been able to finish the period. Probably a mild strain, which tracks for around a week or two to recover.

    On a serious note, I do trust this. He played out the rest of the period on it, most likely just a precautionary measure to make sure we can keep him around until 2040 or whenever Stolarz is back.

  5. So if he’s out longer can we start talking about how the medical staff seems to be completely incompetent this year? So many injuries and so many guys have had setbacks in their injuries that kept them out longer makes it seem like they don’t know what they’re doing

  6. That’s much better than any other injury update we’ve gotten so far this season. At the very least it gives me some optimism.

    Well see in a week then if he can come back. If we claim another goalie between now and then that will be telling.

    If he actually said a week in hopeful it’s true considering they usually say nothing

  10. That’s good to hear, but it always makes me nervous when goalies injure themselves on routine plays they make multiple times a game. Like when he’s back, how long until it happens again?

  16. Think we’ll get him back in time for the playoffs?…. If they can still make the playoffs?

    I mean Beast has been decent and if we get Stolie back by say February and he finds his game again

  18. So two days after the injury and the doctors have had time to talk to him and look at him,  the initial assessment and in accordance to the NHL injury reserve restrictions, Woll could be able to play the Oilers on the 13th but more likely Chicago on the 16th. 

  19. Fair enough but how confident are you he’s not going to aggravate or reinjure it sooner than later ? This coming from a Van fan dealing with Demko on again off again injuries.

  20. And Stolarz still hasn’t skated. I just wish we had more of an update and know what the issue is.

  24. Berube is like my old boss who would say everything should be done in a week and then take 3 months to get something done.

  26. So um… what the heck happened to Stolarz? Lol… does anyone even know what happened to him? He just disappeared off of the face of the planet seemingly.
