So I just wanted to share this somewhere so I thought here would work.
I lost my grandpa when I was 7. He's the reason I love the Guardians. He was the biggest fan I knew. He had a whole room dedicated to the Indians. He told me about growing up in Little Italy in Cleveland and when we won our last World Series.
While looking for some pictures for my stepmother's funeral, I found an album of my grandpa's. It was of the last home game at Cleveland Stadium. In the album, he had news clippings about Rocky Colavito and a few pictures of them meeting. My dad told me about how he was my grandpas favorite player to play that made me dive more in to him as a player.
Yesterday I went to the card show at emidios in chyahoga falls I collect pokemon with my son. While there this card was just sitting there on top of a pile of cards and picked up. I don't collect baseball cards but I might have to start a Rocky collection in memory of my grandpa Nick.
Thanks for reading my little story not a lot of my friends care about baseball so I had no one but my wife to share this with.

I didn’t post the back of the card so here it is. Pretty cool to be 3rd player to hit 4 HRs in a row!!!
awesome card!, i too collect rocky, my mom who also passed, was one of his biggest fans, she absolutely loved the indians/guards, she is the only reason I collect rocky colavito cards. picked up his 57 topps rookie a couple years back and is my favorite card.
great card! definitely a legend of the franchise. when we were cleaning out my grandparents apartment after they both passed, we came across a shoebox full of some old sports stuff. inside was a pretty worn out baseball that has Colavito and a bunch of other signatures on it. many are unfortunately super faded and near impossible to actually tell who they are, but his is still in decent enough shape to easily make it out.
Awesome story and thank you for sharing. It’s amazing how these cards can have such an impact. I’ve really started collecting vintage and have Colavito and Doby collections going. Two absolute legends that I love reading and learning about. I recently picked up a Rocky rookie card and it’s one of my prized collectibles. Enjoy that 1960 card! It’s a classic.

I have a Rocky Colavito bat sitting by the back door of my house. I’ve long referred to it as: “Home security by Rocky Colavito”
Nice card!!! “Don’t knock the Rock!”
