Hands Up If You Too Thought the New York Giants Would be MUCH Better This Year | The Rich Eisen Show
Joe Shane, you’re up. I shouldn’t laugh. It’s just another lost season for the Giants. He’s still there uh as the general manager of the New York Giants because they believe in his roster making ability and what he did with the Buffalo Bills. That’s why they brought him and DB together. As we know, that package deal did not work out. Daybel is gone. Shane is there and the owners have essentially said he’s staying to choose the next head coach. who currently is right now interim wise Mike Kafka who is doing his best to discipline Abdul Carter every other week these days it seems and um and keeping Jackson Dart healthy which is something Dable um wound up in essence eating it over Joe Shane had an interesting presser in the New York metropolitan area yesterday two wins is not where we want to be right now it’s not good enough um I understand the frustration from fans, ownership, you know, the people inside the building, and nobody’s more frustrated than myself, and it starts with me, and I’m tasked with trying to get this organization going back in, you know, the proper direction. You and Brian Dable came in and worked as a collaborative pairing. So, why is he held accountable for the results after four years, but you are not? Yeah, I I understand the question there too, Pat. And again, I’m equally as, you know, my hands in it just like Brian’s is. And ownership made a decision uh to move on. And again, I’m going to do what control what I can control, and that’s support CFKA moving forward. And again, I I wish Dave’s nothing but the best. And we’re going to do everything we can to get this franchise back to where where it should be. What a tough question. The only thing I could equate it to is frequently when I upset Susie and she’ll look at me and say, “Why are you still here?” That’s essentially what that is. Hey, you know, you and Dave were brought together. He’s not here. What are you Why are you still around? Why Why are we talking to you? Why am I talking to you? Yeah. I thought we’re done. I thought I made my point. What? Why are you still here? Is a tough thing to ask somebody. What’s he supposed to answer? Pat Leonard. Pat, I understand your question. The New York Daily News. I I I understand why you’re asking me. We’ve been god awful again. Yep. Yep. And I gotta be honest with you. I thought they’d be better. I really, really, really did. I thought they could win a lot of games. 17- 10, 217. Yep. And you know what? They were ready to do it. And they just couldn’t close. They could not close. They could have four or five more wins this year if they just finished games and were healthy, too. But that’s what happens in the National Football League. You blow leads in the fourth. You can’t stop anybody in the fourth. You can’t run it. And you can’t win. I saw that uh someone did the calculation and and since the boat picture, they’re 43 104 and one. Ah god, when the when the Giants took dart um and and I I’ll I always be I’ll be honest here. I just thought, why are they starting Russ instead of Jamus? If Dart’s not ready and then it the you know they almost beat your Cowboys. Yeah. If they had only played better defense instead of saying, “Oh, you want Brandon Aubrey to kick from right around midfield? Here, you go for it. You go for it.” And then of course Aubrey made the 90 yard to force overtime. And then we all saw what happened after that. And then Russ threw it 15 times out of the back of the end zone against Kansas City. they were done with that. Let’s start dart. Let’s win. And then when they win, they lose neighbors. Then they go into New Orleans the next week and have turnover Palooa lose that one. And then after that, they go home and beat Philadelphia on a short week. And Tango and Cash are starting winning football games. You know, Dart and Scataboo. And the defense in those wins held the Chargers to 18 and Philadelphia to 17. And without the turnovers, they go to one in New Orleans. And the game in Denver was one and they blew it. Then they go to Philadelphia and they lose Scataboo. Then they lose in S at home to San Francisco before going to Chicago and having a winnable game again in their midst only to lose Dart to a concussion. Dart to the sideline. lose that game. Dable gets fired. They lose three in a row, seven overall. I mean, the difference between Dable still being there and not is the decision, I think, to start Russ to start the season and start Jameus too late after he’s gone and then defensively not being able to stop anyone in the fourth quarter to lose those games that they could have won. which is maybe why Shane is still there choosing the next coach of the Giants. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

😂. Go ahead, put your hands up, so we can identify all of you.
We should be 8-5 but thanks Shane Bowen 🙄
Not many hands are raised here except for the naive and most hardcore NYG fans. This was completely predictable from the moment they chose to keep Daboll and Schoen. It'll be more of the same if they don't get rid of Schoen in the off season.
"Why does this keep happening to me?!" The answer to this %99 of the time is "Because you keep doing the same things over and over again."
Look at the Jags, they were practically married to GM Trent Baalke, they kept him for years and years and kept getting the same results. The first year he is gone and the team looks totally revitalized.
From a logical standpoint they should’ve been much better. New vet qb who won’t make dumb mistakes like jones, improved secondary, elite d-line. However, I predicted they would get zero wins this year because I knew that logic can’t be used to evaluate this piss poor franchise.
I expected it to be this bad. I predicted a 6 win season and when they benched Russel Wilson for Dart I predicted a 4 win only season and now even that’s in jeopardy.
It's weird. I had hopes but I am not surprised that it is the way it is. Didn't believe in the regime but once I saw they were bringing them back and they got some draft prospects it inspired hope. But as it looks now hope is gone and it's time to move on from GM and all the coaches except for the o line coach.
Surprised??? They have practice squad players at key positions all over the team. Worst loss to IR was Nabers and then Skattebo. Oh and their best linebacker going down for the year in the preseason didn’t help either. The Abdul Carter draft pick is turning out to be a horrendous pick at 3
I don't often disagree wholeheartedly with people like Rich Eisen, whose opinions I love listening to, but this is one of those times. The New York Giants were one of the few teams in the NFL that were guaranteed to be doormats and bottom feeders, and every football fan knew it. There was no logic to support any other opinion back when the season started, and there is no logic to support it now.
This pisses me off. They were great. They upset the eagles and lost a star reciever, then lost their star RB, then They fire their HC after they get a great team, then they lose their QB for a bit.
Theyre not trash. They didnt get a chance.
Schoen should've been fired after the eagles won the superbowl. That guy almost single handedly let Saquon walk out of the door because he bet on Jones instead all over a few million per year.
How is this guy still employed?….. Makes no sense
Raise your hand if you didn’t raise your hand.
no reason to think theyd be any better.
this notion in the nfl these days that the rookie QB (or rookie anything for that matter) is going to suddenly turn everything around is baseless and tiring.
a bad team that adds a few rookies isnt now a good team, thats moronic.
forget about the boat picture.
at the end of the 2012 season they were 8-5 and going on the road to play atlanta and baltimore, two games they lost in massive blowouts.
compare the record for since those 2 games with before those 2 games. its staggering.
Fire him! He sucks!
Blowing a 19-0 lead against Denver broke them
Please take Joe Brady
Not one non-giant fan ever thought the Giants would be good this season
I want McCarty I know it ain’t a popular opinion but dude knows how to win. We need to win games
Do they actually record on Saturdays? Or is this from Friday?
I think met life is cursed
They are better. They should have won at least 4 more games. They had the hardest schedule in the nfl. Nobody would have expected them to win 6 games so far. If you think the players suck you fire the GM. If you think the team should have won 5 more games instead of blowing 4th quarter leads, you fire the coach. Not that hard
I had a feeling that when the Giants ran Tom Coughlin outta the organization it would take them at least 10 years to be good again. Welp, here we are.
MESSAGE TO MIRA… Are we the "BIG APPLE"? If so, why the small ny?
Dabolls decisions were horrible. Who wouldn't switch to Winston over Wilson
Jameis should’ve been the starter
