Houston Texans Get Even More Good News Before Playing KC Chiefs…

All right, the Houston Texans get even more good news as they go into this matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. If you’re new to the channel, we are the Tread Lions fans, but this channel’s fully dedicated to teams that get overlooked by the national media, and we’ve been just talking about the Houston Texans for a couple of years now. It’s a team we like to just kind of root for. Um, we just we like and it’s great to see that you guys are doing some really good things. So, here here’s how things just keep getting better. First of all, you’re seven and five, right in the mix. That’s what we want as Houston Texans fans, Detroit Lions fans. We just want to be in the mix late into the season as we get into December. Congratulations. You did that. There’s so many teams. There’s 10 teams that are just completely out of it. Looking into next year. Do we win? Do we sit? You know, it’s like that’s so that’s so bad. And we’ve been there. Nope. We’re in the mix. Love it. Winning streak to go along with it to put you right in that position. Love that. Now, as we go into this week, the Buffalo Bills let go of a Let me pull this up here. They let go of a corner to make way for Darius Slay and it was Jammarcus Ingram and you immediately pick him up. So you’re the So you know that chain of events that kind of happens where Darius Slay is let go from the Steelers then he goes to the Bills and then the Bills have to make room. So they let go of a veteran corner that you’re able to okay we’ll take him and you pick him up. So that’s good news number one. Good news number two, the Kansas City Chiefs have had problems this year because their offensive line is so banged up and it’s going to continue to be banged up as this game unfolds. So, let me let me just read the names of guys that are out. Not even the names, but just we can just look at it here. They’ve got Trey Smith, right guard Trey Smith is out on IR. Jawan Taylor, their right tackle. doubtful. Um, no. Trey Smith and Jawan Tower. Hold on, getting excited. Trey Smith and Jawan Taylor are doubtful. Josh Simmons is on IR already. And so now they have to deal with this bad offensive line has to deal with Denil Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. Perfect. And and you see it with the Lions. You see it with the Chiefs. these really good teams that are just kind of struggling this year because of the offensive line play. It’s so important. But then on top of it, if you play a really good team like the Texans with a pass rush, love that. Other good news going into this game is that the the Chiefs just haven’t been able to stop the run like they want to. So, we all talk about Patrick Mahomes and we know that, but it’s the offensive. It always comes back to this offensive line. Can you stop? Can you run the ball and stop the run? The Chiefs haven’t been able to really do that and they haven’t been able to stop the run. So, if you’re the Texans, um you’ve got Markx who had 19 carries in a winning effort over the Indianapolis Colts, 67 yards, just kind of stuck with it, right? I love love staying with the run. You hear that all the time, but you know, you’re just it’s second and seven. Just keep running it. Keep hanging in there and then you’ll take your shot. And I love that. Right. So, Houston cannot afford to abandon the run in this game and Markx is a key player in that. If the Chiefs continue to struggle stopping the run and you can get after Patrick Mahomes, it’s it’s the recipe. I love it. It is It is the recipe. Okay, here’s something else I thought was interesting. going to the Chief’s website. One of the things that they talk about here, let me let me blow this up. Hold on. There we go. Let me blow it up a little bit more. Third downs. The Chiefs struggled last week against Dallas on third downs. They’re just kind of not the Chiefs that they once were. Sorry for the graphic is all screwed up. I can just tell you Chiefs are not what they once were clearly, but it’s because of some of the core things that the Texans are doing well. Get after the passer, run the ball, offensive line kind of stay steady, hang in there, play these games where man, if if when you when you think about the NFL, you think about the good teams, they’re just in the game at the end. They’re they’re in the game. And then can you finish? And duh, like all that matters. But one of the things the Texans got into just these weird games, these weird shootout games and it’s just yeah, you know, you’d make it close at the end or you had a chance somewhat at the end, but it’s like, did you really, you know what I mean? It was like Straoud pulling you back into it or, you know, Lions did that for years whenever Stafford would, you know, he he’d win a lot of them too, but lose them too where just couldn’t complete that that comeback. And it’s like this is not we are not playing winning football. This is helter skelter football that it just it’s not even even if you do win. Yeah, it’s fine. You want to steal any win you can get. But these last few weeks have just been settler down. Little controversies here and there, little things, but for the most part just just being in the mix, being in the game, and that’s what I love. Okay. Now, because they so so this is obviously just a massive playoff implication game. If the Chiefs lose, they are done, right? Doesn’t I mean, doesn’t it feel like that? I mean, we can look at it here real quick. It just feels this is a complete must-win for the for the Chiefs. So, if you look at the the bad news of this game is you cannot fake desperation. You can, you know, we got to win this game. They actually have to win this. So, they will be a desperate team. So that’s that’s tough. All right, let’s let me pull this up here on the AFC side. Colts, Bills, Texans. Texans are just in a great spot. If you lose, your playoff probability is still around 50%. If you win, it shoots all the way to 82% chance that you get in. So, it’s not a it’s not a uh just death blow if you lose. Chiefs, if they lose, they will go down to 11% and it’s just kind of tough for them to climb past everybody else. But if you win and go eight and five, I mean, Colts, see what happens with them. Bills, see what happens with the Jags, you know, it’s just um it’s perfect. And Indian Jags play each other. Oh, yeah. Oh, by the way, so it’s just a it’s perfect. Here’s the thing that we forget. We hyperfocus on the end of the season and who we play and what what record can we get. We forget that other everybody else is playing each other and the whole thing. So, it’s like just keep winning. Just keep winning. It’s not easy, but if you can keep winning, everyone else doesn’t play each other. And then you get to a point where each week you can’t help but benefit from the winner or loser. For example, Ravens play Steelers. So the Steelers, they could be out. So you beat the Chiefs. See a Chiefs. Steelers lose. Goodbye. Or the Steelers win. Now the Ravens are six and six. Now they’re, you know, they’re kind of they’re fighting for that division. So it doesn’t matter as much, but now it kind of does because the Ravens doesn’t matter. The loser of this game is out. They’re way back in the wild card. The winner jumps up to to that spot. Jags and Indie are playing it. Colts could could bounce right out of this thing. So, it just it’s a good time of year. Love to see it. Texans, Lions, thing. Life’s good. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Make sure you subscribe if you haven’t. If you’re new to the channel, again, it just talk about teams that just seem to get overlooked. No Cowboys on this channel. No Cowboys on this channel. And we’ll see all of you on the next

  1. Texans fan here. I've followed the Lions for years. Through Sanders, Stafford, Megatron, and now this team. Happy for the fan base and city that the Lions are winning team now.

  2. Listen, Texans fan here. We are completely dillusional if we think Texans will beat the Chiefs outdoors at Arrowhead! Cheifs are 5-1 at home. That plays here. Texans are an indoor team. So are the Colts (who we just beat). I will bet half the farm Chiefs win this game. Maybe it's tight and ugly and we keep it close, but it's still Mahommes.

  3. Love your continued following of the Texans. As I said many weeks ago, this team was always better than their record revealed when they were 0-3. I didn't see them going 7-2 in the last 9 games. What is the most encouraging is the fact that the offensive line went from bottom of the NFL to (in last 4 games, in the top 5 to 10 in several categories. We will see if that continues. What they need to clean up are two main things: 1. Goal line/Red Zone efficiency and 2. Illegal procedure penalties. Now, to your point, my concern with this current signing is that Kamari Lassiter's injury may be worse that a week to week thing.
