We have definitely been better under Borrego. We get into our sets quicker, move off ball more and with more pace. We are still terrible defensively and at the end of games we need to get stops as well as good open looks.
I think the big question will be if the players continue to respond to Borrego should Dumars lock him up before the end of the season or should Dumars doa more extensive search after the season? Pro’s of extending Borrego is we can make trades at the deadline to fit Borrego’s offensive and defensive vision as well as continuity for the team. The con is we might be able to get a better coach in the offseason and once again will have had a bad process in hiring without an extensive search.
I know we are not going to win many games this season whomever is the coach, but if we continue to improve and the players are responding well to Borrego I don’t have a problem going forward with him
I hate the what-if-game, but it would have been interesting to this this team with Borrego from the start of this season.
