Reminder NCAA playoffs are decided by random journalists who sit in a room and talk about which teams would make them more money

  1. “Playoff”

Even funnierz, before the “playoff” system, Ohio State lost the Rose Bowl but the journos still awarded them with a national championship.

  2. Every year when there were 2 or 3 undefeated teams, different polls would have different “champions.”

  3. In college football, I feel the defense has the hardest job because the skill floor needed to do it well is very high. A good defense will win the game and if both defenses suck you get 40 – 40 games

  4. I strongly believe that whoever makes the NCAA calendar is just doing some kind of shrooms out of this world

  5. Grown men thinking college is better than NFL is a sign they’re mentally stunted. I enjoy watching to see future stars but it’s college lmao. NIL with no cap makes it a joke lol and they can’t even drink legally stop taking it so seriously 😂😂

  6. So for some context to people who only follow the NFL and not college football…

The SEC only looks at the conference records of teams when deciding who qualifies for the conference championship. Before the championship, Alabama is 10-2 but one of those losses was to out of conference opponent FSU, so it is excluded from Conference Championship criteria.

The SEC had 4 teams with a 7-1 conference record: Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. The first tiebreaker is head to head record but since A&M did not play any of those three teams this year it went to the 4th tiebreaker, which is Cumulative Winning Percentage of all conference opponents. Georgia and Alabama beat both A&M and Ole Miss in that tiebreaker, so they went to the championship game.

Now for the College Playoffs, those teams ARE selected by a committee using all manner of mental gymnastics, intangible metrics and contradictory criteria to decide who gets in and who doesn’t. its controversial every year and it will stay that way.
