Had no idea about this guy’s background. I’m learning that he played 4 years of college lacrosse with no basketball, got drafted #1 in the U.S. lacrosse league, and then decided on a whim to not play lacrosse anymore but instead use an extra 5th year to walk on and play college basketball for just one year.
And he is now in the NBA (at 6’2”)? Insanity.

To see Pat Spencer doing this well in the NBA is so surreal. I remember watching his lacrosse highlights at Loyola over and over when I was in high school and watched him transition to Northwestern basketball after winning the Tewaaraton. They even made a “Behind X” episode where he showed off some of his basketball skills, but I had no idea he would be this productive at the NBA level. One of the coolest stories in the NBA rn
