Packers Are About To UNLEASH Talented Rookie

All right, let’s talk about the Green Bay Packers. Obviously heading into a massive matchup. We’re all excited for this upcoming Sunday, but obviously injuries are also taking the role for this Packers defense, but that doesn’t mean necessarily that all hope is lost up front. In fact, it looks like the Packers are about to unleash a talented rookie that we’re very high on. We’ll get into that reporting in just one second. But first, I’m Nick, that is Andrew, and this is Saturday Morning Inspection. [Music] [Applause] All right, injuries are just a fact of life in the NFL, especially this late in the season. Every team has injuries. Every team has good players basically every single game. A lot of teams have multiple players beat up. It’s just it’s unfortunate. It’s just the way the world works. We hate it. We wish it didn’t happen. But listen, it’s football. It’s the way it’s always been. It’s the way it is. It’s the way it probably always will be. And to that end, Packers fans, if you aren’t aware, I’m sure most of you are at this point. Devonte Wyatt, of course, dealing with injury issues. It’s a big blow up front for the Green Bay Packers, but that it doesn’t mean that the Packers are in a terrible position up front. In fact, we got a report in my if you don’t mind throwing it up on the screen right now talking about a young defensive lineman we are very high on on this channel, and that’s Warren B. Let’s pull up the post right here, courtesy of Packers Wire. The Green Bay Packers rookies have become an increasingly prominent part of Jeff Halfley’s defense in the last month or so and figured to be central figures for the remainder of the season after injuries have chipped away at the Packers defensive depth. Warren Bonen has been thrust into a more prominent role in Green Bay’s defense in re recent weeks. There have been positive signs in the run game where Brinsen plays with sound technique and holds zone. As the Eagles try to run out the clock late, the rookie fired his hands right into the center’s chest off the snap, drawing him back and making making Saquon Barkley change course. As a Paris rusher, Brinsson has flashed some abil ability in recent weeks as well, including a five pressure day against Minnesota, which also included his first NFL sack as he worked through traffic to get JJ McCarthy down. So, if you look at over the past two games, 21 snaps against the Minnesota Vikings, 30 plus snaps against the Detroit Lions. This is after 33 snaps being recorded by Branson against Arizona earlier in the season. So, he’s got a lot of playing time under his belt, relatively speaking. But Brenson is a guy to me that looks to be sort of a breakout candidate the second half of the season. He’s a rookie and we talked about him all the way back in the preseason who just plays football the right way. We broke down a play during the preseason against the Colts, for example, where he’s got his helmet knocked off in the middle of the play as he’s bull rushing through a guard and he keeps driving and gets pressure on the quarterback. That’s the kind of mentality Brenson has. And if you look at his game over the course of the season up to this point, it hasn’t been flawless, but he’s a rookie. He’s a six round rookie. He’s been a depth piece, just stepping up whenever he’s needed. He’s done some good things overall. I love him in the pass rush department. To me, he plays it absolutely perfect. to uses his great leverage to his advantage. He’s a good athlete. He does a lot of the team friendly concepts. He’s outstanding working in stunts against the Cardinals. You guys remember Micah Parsons had a field day. Well, a big part of that on some of that sacks was Brinen flawlessly executing some stunts, freeing up Parsons and in some case some other Packers edge rushers to get pressure on Arizona Cardinal quarterback Jacobe Brassette. Then, of course, he added his own production in the pass rush game against Minnesota. In the run game, it’s been a little bit more inconsistent, but I think he’s actually pretty stout. I think for me, it’s just not as much production as we saw in the pass rush department, but I expect that’ll come with more time. Right. Run fits is something that a lot of defensive linemen don’t get right away. It takes time to to figure out. And Packers fans, you know this, right? There have been there have been multiple guys on this Packers front that you have added over the years where initially, run defense isn’t quite there, but event, you know, give it enough time, they figure it out because you just need the reps and run defense. Okay. What’s a double team feel like? How do I defend against a backside scoop? You know, you know, how do I hold my ground? When do I go to a good uh defensive technique here? When do I shock and shed? It takes timing to figure that out. We all understand that. A little bit different pass rush and pass rush situations where it’s like, listen, it’s just mono one-on-one, something we’ve been doing since, you know, high school or maybe earlier than that in grade school. You know, can you beat the guy across from you? And so, I expect Brenson with more reps as the season progresses. Of course, he’s gotten more than 50 combined over the last two Packers games. I expect him to have a massive performance for Green Bay going forward. I’m not saying all pro. I’m not saying he’s going to become a superstar. But when you actually look at the film, a breakdown of the tape, this is an exciting kid. You can see why Halfley and the Packers are so stoked. He’s not, you know, a mer inside. It’s not a 400 lb space eater. It’s not Vince Wolffork or anything like that. But he’s an athletic guy who again uses every tool in his toolkit pretty well. He plays with good energy. I think one thing that can happen every once in a while is that if he loses initially, he can feel like a little out of place, but I think that’s just more timing and reps trying to figure out in the NFL game. Okay, I just got smacked a little bit by the guard here. How do I adjust? What’s my counter? I think more reps, more timing. We’ll figure that out how to handle those situations. And I think he’s going to get it. Obviously, the injuries up front for Green Bay are a bummer. They’re a disappointment. And listen, Wyatt’s a heck of a player. But I think Brinsen, again, the gap between Wyatt and Brinsen isn’t as severe as a lot of people in the media think. Now again, I’m not saying Brenson is as good as White. He certainly is not. Maybe maybe won’t ever get to that level. But I think he’s a talented player with a very bright future. And if you look at what he’s done in terms of productivity alone, five pressures in a single game against the Minnesota Vikings, for example, as a report alludes to, the film indicates that as well. This is a guy who can step up and make big plays. He’s a guy that can produce. He’s a guy that can be productive. That’s an an element that a lot of players, I know, even if they’re talented, even if they do a lot of good things, don’t necessarily have. Let’s look at Lucas Feness. Let’s pick on him for a second, right? He’s a guy that’s got a lot of physical gifts, got a lot of talented things. The Packers expecting a lot out of him this year, of course, with the addition of Michael Parsons and the production just really hasn’t been there. They’ve been expecting a big leap. It just hasn’t really ever come. Brinsen has a lot of productive capabilities. He showed that over the course of the limited playing time this season. He’s going to show it now with the injuries, of course, with the more challenging opportunity in front of him, but I think he’ll do a lot of good things. again, he’s good enough in the run game with his run fits and he’s playing better that I think they won’t be just really poor off. It’s it’s not week four, right, where listen, you’ve got a rookie that’s still trying to figure out his bearings in the NFL, right? We’re late in the season. These guys have gone through, you know, 12, 13, 14 weeks of game plans. They’ve played a ton of football. Brinsen at this point has played 122 snaps, 46 against the run, 74 rushing the passer. So, so he’s gotten a lot of football in front of him played at this point. He’s got a a a good sort of backlog of experience he can rely on. Some of the times when you play rookies late in the season, it becomes an issue because the only games they’ve played in on like scrimmage snaps or preseason. And listen, it’s different going up against a starting guard, a Pro Bowl guard, than it is, you know, going against a undrafted rookie free agent that’s going to be selling insurance in two weeks. Obviously, different environment. Brunson, he’s not that issue, right? He’s played in big moments this season. Arizona, of course, Detroit, Minnesota. He has stepped up in a big way for this Packers team. And I expect this Packers defense as a whole to step up. And this is why in some instances it’s important to have topflight talent. Whether it’s a Michael Parsons for the Packers, whether it’s another, you know, superstar player because what it does is it forces teams to adjust. Instead of attacking a young player like Brenston, having a clear attack vector, it still keeps them on the defense, right? So any team offensively that goes against the Packers, they’ve got to counter Michael Parsons, right? So instead of worrying about attacking Brenson, they’ve got a game plan to defend against Parsons. And I think that’s the value of Parsons. And I know there’s been a lot of debate of how good a single star is. Obviously Parsons is tremendous. He’s an allp pro player, defensive player of the year candidate, but what’s the value long term? And to me, that is the big thing is that when you have injuries, other spars, excuse me, other parts of your defense, it doesn’t open up a clear attack vector for the opposition to go after because they’re still focused on handling a superstar like Parsons. It allows a guy like Warren Brinson in this case to continue his progression and I think he will continue to play better against the run. I think he’s already really good as a pass rusher and as much as Devonte Wyatt and other injuries the Packers have faced this season, it really hurts their team from a, you know, from having that level of talent on the field for sure. I think Brinon is more than capable to step up and I think he’s going to be unleashed going forward. I expect them to actually have a really good day against the Chicago Bears. I really do cuz the Bears have been doing a good job running the football. Pass protection isn’t quite as good as it’s been, as good as they’d hoped it would have been. Caleb Williams holds on to the football a long time. Brenton’s effort and his pass rush challenge. I think he comes up with a lot of big plays this weekend and the rest of the year for the Packers. All right, M. I’m curious what your thoughts are on all of this. But Green Bay fans, you first in the comment section below. Big game this weekend, of course, against the Chicago Bears. Give us your prediction. Final score, Packers, Bears. It is a massive one. It’s the game of the weekend as far as I’m concerned. So, let us know how you think it will go. Give us your prediction for the final score in the comment section below. But M over to you now. Let’s hear your thoughts on all things Packers as we go forward. Yanick, and I think in like a roundabout way with as, you know, much of not actually saying it, but saying it as you could have, you kind of hit on what I want to talk about is when you hear the word replacement in the NFL or, you know, someone comes in to replace somebody else, a lot of times you expect, you know, full production. And what you’re doing, this guy did this, so you’re bringing in somebody else who does this and it does the same thing and they do it at the same level, which is not the case. If Michael Parsons went down, god forbid, not going to happen. Just giving an example here. And someone said, “All right, we need someone to be the number one pass rusher in the NFL to replace Michael Parsons. Impossible. Can’t do it. It is not going to happen.” I think when we think of replacement though, we need to think more about like stabilization. And I think that’s what a guy like Bronson does. He does a couple things pretty good. Like you said, Devonte Wyatt, first round pick. Warren Brenson, sixth round pick. Not the same caliber of player. Maybe one day he will be, maybe one day he won’t, but we, you know, there’s uncertain at this point, but you can’t expect him to come in. And I think there’s a key at the end of this article that, you know, Halfley doesn’t expect him. It says replacing the impact of Wyatt will be a tall task, although Brenson is not being charged with that task alone. And that’s the key here is everybody’s got to pick up a little bit slack. Brenson’s going to come in and do his part, but I think overall this Packers team is set up nicely because of a guy like Brenson because what he brings to the table, he will be a stabilizing factor to this defensive line. Especially, I like the part where he’s got a lot of reps under his belt already. You’re not throwing some new, you know, fresh off the boat rookie right into the lineup where they’re getting their feet wet for the first time. that causes problems, that causes, you know, you know, timidness, eagerness, you know, just a little nerve playing not your best. And that’s the key here is Brenson, a guy, he’s got experience under his belt. He’s flashed at times. He’s going to come in, he’s not going to be nervous. He’s going to play his best. He’s not going to have, you know, any of this anxiousness to cause, you know, uh, any holes in his game. He’s going to bring to the table what he brings. And I think what he brings is a skill set that will help stabilize the offensive line. There’s not going to be a big gaping hole where Devonte Wyatt was and Warren Brenson plugs in. I think it will be, you know, not 100%, but it’ll be pretty good. He’s going to bring a stabilizing factor to this line. So, when I hear this and when when we looked at Brenton this year, we’ve seen what he’s done through film reviews and things of that nature. We see what he brings to this line and what the the Packers have to offer. I I’m not nervous about Wyatt being out. I think Brenson is a suitable replacement. And I think he’s a guy who’s going to come in and do some good stuff. And I agree with you. I think what you said at the beginning, he’s someone to be excited about. There’s been some things where I think he’s going to surprise a lot of people with what he brings to the table. I think this weekend versus the Bears, like you said, there’s some good opportunities for a guy like him to, you know, you know, show some flashes. We see some special stuff out of him as we have in a few other games this season. But overall, I think this is going to be something that’s good for the Packers because when Wyatt does return, I think Brenson will be a guy that they can say, “Hey, this is a guy we can look towards in the future. We’ve seen what he brings to the table and now we can be confident in his level of play going forward.” Might be a guy longterm that they look at, say, hey, there’s something to develop here and bring into this uh this team long term to this defensive line. A guy we want to look at for the future. So, I think Warren Bton has a lot to offer this team and I think when we see him come this Sunday against the Bears, there’s going to be some excitement finally around Warren Benton. Oh, 100%. I think the stabilization point is outstanding by you. I think it’s exactly what you’re trying to do when you have these injuries. You can’t replace it man by man, but can you avoid, like I said before, an attack vector? And I think obviously Parsons helps there, but if you’re so weak at that position, then a team just doesn’t care. Then you’re going to have real issues. and Brinson’s proven to be the opposite of weak at that position. I expect big things and at the very least stabilization in the absence of Wyatt. But as we talk about the match up this weekend, let’s pull up the uh preview here today just to kind of end on this. So this is the matchup predictor courtesy of ESPN. You can see the Green Bay Packers pretty hefty favorite per ESPN analytics 69% to 30.7%. Yet that adds up to 99.7% for those of you who are mathematically inclined. Packers fans, you know it. Of course, there is still a chance of a tie. They put that at.3% right there. But the Packers pretty hefty favorite basically 70 to30 based on the analytics which kind of makes sense because the Bears are, you know, they’ve got a great record, but it’s been outside of a really good performance against Philadelphia. It’s been a lot of surviving. It’s been a last second just escape victories, right? Games they could have or should have lost the Giants, you know, the Bengals, situations like that where it looked like the Bears were definitely going to lose or could have easily lost and they pull it out at the end. than I think the Packers have been much more dominant and have a better roster, better quarterback play, and the analytics of course favor that and the oddsmakers do as well. The game opened up as a seven-point favorite for Green Bay. It’s narrowed ever so slightly to six and a half. So, we’ve seen a little bit of money go to the Bears side right there and I think that’s because of a little concerns about injuries potentially with this with this Packers defense. Could the the Bears maybe score more? Obviously, some issues with this Packers offense this season that’s been undeniable. inconsistencies there at times, but I think the Packers are just better. I think the injuries that Green Bay is dealing with versus the injuries the Bears have. The Packers, I think, are much more suited to handle it with guys like Brenson stepping up, and I think they do. And I think the Packers send a message against the Bears. The Bears have been a great story this season. It’s been a fun ride for Chicago, but I expect honestly the Packers to win this game and win it pretty decisively. This feels to me like a 3117 kind of win where the Packers maybe never even trail on this one. I’m expecting Green Bay to come up with an impressive win.

The Green Bay Packers are heading into a massive matchup. And due to injuries, the Packers are going to be playing a key rookie. Fortunately for Green Bay, he is more than up to the task. This is great news for the Green Bay Packers.

  1. Not much of interest here…the main guy loves to talk a lot but not much obvious stunt to take away from his comments…and there is more recent info that he totally ignores or otherwise is unaware of??? Weird.
