Ravens Report: Week 14 | Baltimore Ravens

This week on Ravens Report, it’s rivalry week at Mnt Bank Stadium as the Steelers come to town with first place in the division on the line. Plus, we relive the Jets win with QB Lamar Jackson miked up. And what’s the one thing the Ravens absolutely cannot do if they want to beat those pesky Steelers? All that and more starts now on Ravens Report. 15 touchdowns. Oh, what a scene we have at Mntley. Welcome to Ravens Report. I’m Shelby Lasso. It’s week 14 and it’s finally Steelers week here in Baltimore. The Ravens welcome their bitter rivals to Mnt Bank Stadium on Sunday for the first of two meetings in these final five weeks. Both teams sit at six and six at top the AFC North and the winner Sunday will be in the driver’s seat to win the division. Baltimore is coming off a tough Thanksgiving loss to Cincinnati, but the long weekend gave the team something they desperately needed. Extra rest, reset, and lock in for a massive matchup with Pittsburgh. And they even had some extra time to work out a new contract with a franchise tight end. Earlier this week, general manager Eric Dcasta announced a three-year contract extension for Mark Andrews. In that loss to the Bengals, Mark broke the Ravens all-time receptions record and became just the second tight end in NFL history to hold the receiving triple crown as the franchise’s all-time leader in yards, catches, and touchdowns. So, congratulations to Mark Andrews, and I can’t wait to see what he continues to accomplish as a Raven. Now, before we turn the page completely to Steelers week, let’s look back at the Ravens last win. Two weeks ago against the New York Jets, it was a quiet first half, but things came alive after the break with a pair of touchdowns from the King and Lamar Jackson was miked up for all of it. Let’s join in the action in the second half on Ravens Wired. Hey, let’s go. Let’s get this first down. Let’s go. Lamar drops to the 10 yd line looking over the middle. Now he’s flush from the pocket running to the right. Gets outside the numbers. Lobs it down the far sideline. Mark Andrews reaches up and can’t make the catch. But a flag is down at the Jets 42 yd line. Pass interference defense number 26. Ball plays in the spotted foul. First down Baltimore. So Lamar Jackson extending the play. The Jets commit pass interference. And maybe that’s the spark the Ravens offense needed. Ravens 0 and5 on third down today. and a shot. Jackson takes the snap looking over the middle. Fires complete to the 28 yd line and the Ravens move to Chains on a great catch by DeAndre Hopkins. And the round goes to Z Flowers. He’s to the 20. Flowers all the way down to the 17 yd line on a brilliantly executed fake to Derek Henry. And the Ravens get a first down and they are inside the red zone to start the second half. Two punch plays. Two clutch plays. Nice job, guys. There you go, guys. Unless you hurt your ankle for a second. Oh, no. It looked like it would pull through your leg like that. Good run. That was good. I should have let it all the way in. Listen, don’t matter if you score a touchdown here. Yeah. What a shot. Lamar pulls down, bobbles the snap, takes it, hands it to Keaton Mitchell, who scors his way inside the 10 and first and goal Ravens. It’s their fourth first down of the drive which matches their first down total from the entire first half. Jackson drops the throw. Rolls out to the right. He’s got room. He gets outside the numbers. He’s to the five and he’s pushed out of bounds at the four yd line. Here’s a give to Derek Henry from the two. Henry running between the hash mark and the king is in. Touchdown Ravens. Just what the doctor ordered for the Ravens. out of the locker room and into the lead. And the Ravens open up the second half, grabbing the lead for the first time today. Nice shoot. Ravens defense gets a fourth down stop of the Jets and that gives the ball to the offense in great field position at the New York 42. So after a first half where the offense could not get in gear at all, they open up with a touchdown drive and now they have a chance to extend the lead here with their second possession of the half. He roll man off the ball and be physical and finish off the play fake. Lamar with a deep drop sets his feet throws complete. Henry has it at the 40. sidestep the tackle, gets to the 30, 25, and all the way down to the Jets 22 yd line. First down Ravens with a 20 yd gain right out of the gate. See, those are the decisions and then the plays after them that bring your opponents alive and Derrick Henry with the catch. Karns up field and now the big diesel is free and rumbling up field. Lamar steps back in the shotgun takes the snap. Blitz pressure coming. Lamar lost for the end zone. incomplete. Penalty flags all over the field as Zay Flowers was tackled by Tony Adams right at the goal line. And this will be first and goal for the Ravens. We talked about the red zone difficulties for the Ravens. They came into today ranked 28th in the NFL in red zone conversions, scoring touchdowns on fewer than half of their trips into the red zone. Last year, one of the best in the red zone. this year. One of the worst. Here we go. Come on. Go for it. Go for it. Go for it. And the Ravens will go for it on fourth and goal. The give it to Henry right side. He’s got a hole. He’s in. Touchdown Ravens. Pat Ricard got a seal on the inside. Mark Andrews a seal on the outside and the King waltzes in untouched. So John Harbaugh rolls the dice after Aaron Glenn rolled the dice on fourth down and came up empty. Derek Henry now has 115 career rushing touchdowns. That’s fifth in NFL history. Mark Jackson and the offense try to get their third touchdown here of the second half. It has not been a pretty afternoon, but the objective is still to extend the win streak to five. Pretty or not. Let go. Let go. Let go. Lamar looking to throw. Looking to the left, fires over the middle. Caught. 40 yd line. That’s Zane Flowers who got up and extended a play to the 41. Here we go. Go, go, go. Lamar pulls down the high snap. Rolls to the right. Sets his feet going deep far side looking for Tez Walker and he makes the sliding catch at the Jets 30 yd line. 29 yd gain. Six of the Jets eight losses have been in one score games. This team hangs around. They’ve been in every contest. Jets seven along the line. Here comes the blitz. Lamar fires end zone left side. He had a man wide open, but he overthrew DeAndre Hopkins. He had him open. All right. Oh my goodness. Loo attempt from 35. Loop’s kick is up and it is good. The Ravens finished the job 23-10, climbing above 500 for the first time this year. And if you want to see that full episode of Ravens Wired, make sure you go to the Baltimore Ravens YouTube page to check it out. Coming up on Ravens Report, the touching story behind Malachi Starks’s custom cleats and the family inspiration that made his My Cause My Cleats game so meaningful. We’ll be right back. Ravens Report is brought to you by MedStar Health, the trusted medical team of the Baltimore Ravens and you. MedStar Health, it’s how we treat people. And by Mnt Bank, the official bank of the Baltimore Ravens. Welcome back to Ravens Report. Each season, NFL players and coaches get the opportunity to design custom cleats to showcase the causes that mean the most to them. Now in its 10th season, My Cause My Cleat has become a highlight of the NFL calendar. And the Ravens had several players turn heads with their creative designs against the Jets. For rookie Malachi Starks, it was his first time participating. And his hot pink cleats didn’t just pop on the field, they told a powerful story. So, let’s hear the moving inspiration behind Malachi’s footwear and the cause closest to his heart. Right now, I’m working on Jake H’s cleats. I got Malachi Starks that just came in and I just finished Charlie Kohler’s and his his cleats are crazy. I’m hyped about all of them. This is going to be more subtle. Charlie’s going to be, you know, stand out piece and Malachi is just going to be you’re going to see him from a far mile away. So, can’t wait for y’all to see him. So, the players came to me and was like, “Hey, can you do my cleats?” I was like, “Sure.” And they told me their cause and I was like, “I have a cause of my own when I do cleats or any part of projects. I give proceeds to my foundation as well.” Basically, it’s like a full circle moment where we’re all giving back. I like, you know, doing details for a piece and when I give it to like the client or whoever’s receiving it, they start looking at it and they like every time they look at it, they see it something different. They pick up something like, “Oh, like, you know, first glance, you might not see it. Next day, you might look at it again like, oh, wait, wait a minute.” Well, you know, got Malachi Starks and his cleat design. They already look cool already. They look speedy like him, you know. And his is going to be a lot more different than those two. His is all hot pink, you know. His foundation is ESP, special needs foundation, and he actually wants to incorporate that across, you know. I might add like a a verse or something like that. But also, he wants to do like a painting himself as well too, going with the foundation as well. But these are definitely going to be a eye popping. You’re probably going to see these in the nose bleed. Y’all got to stay tuned, man. Man, I’m super excited. I haven’t saw them yet. So, they they made them and I’m I’m I’m super excited. I know they did a great job and um it’s going to be very special for because of what it represents, but also um just a special moment for me and I can’t wait. I can’t wait. Ryan Malachi, what’s going on, man? Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, man. You’re the honest boy. Oh man, I love everything detailed, man. Like that picture is awesome. So when I when I wanted to do my cause, my cleats, I wanted to do something that was men’s health awareness in general. So I did I was doing the Movember thing already, you know, just the mustache just to raise awareness. And then I got connected to the Ravens with, you know, prostate cancer awareness. So it it’s home to me. So I appreciate you doing this, man. It’s really cool. Health is wealth. Yeah, for sure. This is this is awesome, man. Thank you. Man, you killed it. You appreciate it. Thank you. The organization is called ESP. Um it is a organization, Extra Special People. Uh when I was in Athens, Georgia, I did a few things there with the team and they are a great organization and they’re very like hands-on and they’re very like specific about how they do things and they do a lot of great things and I think that’s a place that I would trust for Isaiah to go and it’s it’s a very special place. Uh, so I’ll be representing them. This is my nephew. His name is Isaiah. He’s um he’s non he has autism. Uh, he’s nonverbal, but he’s super smart. He’s the smartest kid that I know. Super smart and he’s in his own little world. And since he’s been born, we’ve just always had a a strong connection. I feel like I get him and he gets me in a way and it’s just it’s special. Um, but no man, this this means a lot. I appreciate it, man. I’m going to chair these forever. You got the That’s my book. That’s my book. That’s that’s one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That is dope. One and two pics for the Raiders. You know what I’m saying? That’s sweet. Like a highlight. My own little Jordan logo. Exactly, dude. That’s really cool. So, I like to put give people their flowers and also show like the highlights of the cleats cuz you could just do like, you know, something here and there, but I like to get it personal and actually mean something to someone. Amount of creative work that went into this is pretty sweet. So, really appreciate you. Yeah. I might wear them when I get home. I’m like I’m like go to sleep. Them ice right there. Hey them icy right there though cuz bro I can’t touch them. I can’t don’t touch that picture. That’s your brother. No, that’s my nephew. Your nephew. That’s like it’s literally picture perfect to the picture I sent. Yeah, that’s uh you see my cool. So these are the these are the cleats that we all had talked about. They came and they look really really good. So I’m excited for y’all to see. My family’s my everything. They’ve always been there during the toughest times of my life and during the best times of my life. Oh, I love the color. I love that the support and the stability that I have within that word family. It holds so much value. That’s the your favorite scripture. Yeah. Oh, that’s nice. I knew you would think. Yeah. It’s so interesting like the way that God placed everybody in certain positions in their life. And I think just the way that he placed me and my family and like the position that we’re in with each other and like our bond, I mean, it’s it’s just special. And then this is my he put all my interceptions on there. Oh, wow. Both of them. This one is my favorite for sure. That’s the picture of me and Isaiah. Wow. Oh, my babies. Look at I love it. Yeah, that is great. Look at that picture. Yeah, I know. I I need it for my trophy case. Yeah. Yeah. I’m not giving you these. Oh, wow. Can’t wait to see how reaction when he see his picture. Yeah. Every time I see him, like he’s just he’s literally in his own world. Like he’s just having fun doing whatever. I don’t ever want him to lose it. It kind of pulled me back into it. I need to be more like that. Like I need to enjoy life. If he can be happy all the time, why can’t I? You know, like there there’s bigger things to stress over. Um, but I think really just having a smile on your face and and he doesn’t know it. Um, but like putting a smile on others faces as well. I think that’s huge. Um, and I think that’s something that I want to live by. I think he he killed it. I love it. I love the cause. I love I love all of them. It’s a great cause. Yeah, they killed it. I can’t wait to see you play in them. Yeah, I know. Bright, bold, and full of heart, Malachi’s cleat said it all. And Starks has been impressive during his rookie season. He leads the league in total snaps by a rookie in 2025. And his consistency has helped lead the Ravens defensive turnaround since the byee. Coming up, the Ravens have a new Walter Payeyton man of the year nominee. And the moment he found out included a surprise you won’t want to miss. So stick with us to see who is wearing that crown for the Ravens this year. Welcome back to Ravens Report. Continuing the theme of annual NFL traditions, the Ravens named their Walter Payeyton man of the year nominee for this season, running back Derek Henry. This prestigious award is presented annually by the NFL honoring a player’s dedication to philanthropy. And over the past two seasons, King Henry has truly embraced the Baltimore community both on and off the field. John Harbaugh shared the exciting news with the team earlier this week, and the reaction was extra special thanks to a heartfelt surprise from Derek’s daughters. So, let’s take a look at that memorable moment. One last thing, Ravens Baltimore Ravens Walter Pigman of the year. The league considers the Walter Pig Mader award. It’s the most prestigious honor and I probably got to give him that because it’s an awesome award. All right. For outstanding community service on and off the field. It’s excellence. Okay. On and off the field. 2025 Ravens man of the year is selected by the Ravens organization this year is Derek Hen. Play Fortnite. Yeah. You do? Are you pretty good? Yeah. I am terrible. I’m new to Baltimore, so I definitely want to get my hands in the community as soon as possible. Or what other great ways is is doing it by helping these kids out and getting them ready for school. Henry to the goal line and in for the touchdown. King Henry looks good in the Ravens purple with a bunch of rushing yards and a bunch of rushing TDs. Now ranks 11th all time in the rushing list. And I will kind of note I do believe you broke Walter Payton’s record for career rushing yards this year, too. So I think he’d be proud of him, too. I know when I was a kid, uh, you know, I look for somebody to be a role model and I just want to help out. I’m glad I I was able to do this for these kids. Congratulations, S. I’m proud of you and I love you. I hope you have a good day at work and I love you so so much. I really got too much to say. I appreciate um organization, right organization nominating me for this prestigious award. I don’t take giving back lightly. Um, I put my hands in that community and uh impact the youth. You know, I’m going keep trying to spread love and and give back and uh do my part that God would let me to do. So, I appreciate it and love y’all. Let’s continue to give back and have an influence while we got this platform right here. Still to come on Ravens Report, it’s week 14. It’s Ravens, it’s Steelers, and it’s for first place. I’ll tell you why this AFC North showdown could hinge on one simple thing that Baltimore hasn’t done enough lately, and how fixing it might swing the whole game. We’ll be right back. Welcome back to Ravens Report. This is what December football is all about, right? It’s week 14. The Ravens and the Steelers are tied to top the AFC North. And with five games left, including two head-to-heads, Sunday’s matchup at Mnt Bank Stadium is massive. Win this one and Baltimore takes sole possession of first place in the division. So, I believe the Ravens have to find that run game again and find it early. Feed Derek Henry against Cincinnati. Henry averaged about six yards a carry, but only had 10 attempts. Coach Harbaugh said against the Bengals, the lack of carries came from not sustaining drives. Baltimore runs the ball on first down more than almost any team in football. But the success rate hasn’t been there. I expect that to change this week. Pittsburgh has struggled against the run. They’re coming off a loss to the Bills where they gave up nearly 250 rushing yards, their most in decades. If there’s ever a moment for the Ravens to reestablish their identity on the ground, it’s this one. A strong run game settles the offense, opens up play action, and puts this rivalry matchup on Baltimore’s terms. My next key is for the Ravens defense. Future Hall of Famer Aaron Rogers is now in black and yellow, and this season, he’s put up solid numbers, and he still reads the defense as well as anyone. But here’s where the Ravens can really tilt the field. Pressure and timing. Rogers gets the ball out incredibly fast. And when he holds on to it longer than a couple of seconds, that’s when mistakes show up. Disrupt that first read, muddy up the window, and force him to hitch or hold the ball. Yeah, that’s when Rogers will give you a chance. And this Ravens defense needs more heat. And pressure isn’t always just about the finish. It’s about affecting throws, forcing earlier decisions, and getting Rogers uncomfortable. mix the pressures, win those one-on-one matchups, and force him into something off schedule. And my final key is one that might be the most important key of the game. The Ravens turned it over five times against the Bengals, their most in years. And honestly, that decided the game in an AFC North battle that’s always tight, always physical. You simply cannot hand Pittsburgh extra chances. And the Steelers defense thrives on takeaways. They have 10 interceptions this season and they lead the NFL in forced fumbles with 16. With TJ Watt lurking on the edge, hunting the ball, Baltimore has to protect it. Secure catches, strong pocket awareness, two hands through traffic, no freebies for Pittsburgh in a game this important. So, if the Ravens can run the ball, pressure Aaron Rodgers, and protect the ball, they’ll put themselves in the driver’s seat in the AFC North and take a big step toward the postseason. That’s it for this show. We’ll see you again in a week for another AFC North Showdown.

The Baltimore Ravens are preparing for Sunday’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  1. Coaches need to really hammer in Goal line Ball security … I am kind of annoyed at how many times we lose the ball at the Goal line …. from poor ball security .. especially with Likely as he has always shown poor ball security when he is running in open field with the ball hanging free in one had while running …. he has 3 fumbles 2 lost from his poor ball security … this has to absolutely stop …. Henry had this problem in the beginning of the season .. I see he has corrected it since … so to see Likely to still be running around like that is astonishing ….

  2. Congratulations to Mark Andrew for being yourself. Congratulations to Derrick Henry and Malachi Starks. Thank you for being you what am I saying the whole team is good damn.🐦‍⬛🖤💜

  3. Keys to the Game imo!:
    1. Run the ball, feed The King, it’s why we have him!
    2. Ball security! There’s no excuse in the history of excuses that is valid for the turnovers last week! The Steelers feed off mistakes like that! If we want to have a CHANCE to win the division for the 3rd-year- straight, we can’t make any!
    3. Protect Lamar-
Attention blockers, do your freaking job! There’s a reason Lamar has been sacked as many times as he has…he isn’t given enough time to make any big plays because he’s fearing for his life!
    4. SCORE A TOUCHDOWN IN THE RED ZONE(especially at The Goal Line)- It looks to me like we’re scared of the goal line! We make our way all the way down the field and then we don’t cash it in! We were the best in the league in the red zone last season! We only have five more chances! If we want even the slightest chance of making it to the playoffs much less the championship, we HAVE to start playing like the real Baltimore Ravens. Because, to me, we look like the discounted version! We look like frauds the majority of the time! Let’s get back to basics and win that championship! For the love of everything!!
