MASSIVE Yankees Trade Imminent – Yankee Fans are FIRED UP…
The New York Yankees are exploring a massive change that fans are fired up over and are very in support of and something that should be a very clear decision by the Yankees front office and manager Aaron Boon. We’re going to go over exactly what this change is, what is causing everything to happen right now, and of course, if it will stick. This does regard Anthony Vulpi and his future with the Yankees as well, guys. So, there’s a lot to go over right now, and we’re going to waste no time jumping right into it. But before we do, if you’re part of that percentage that’s not subscribed, part of that 68%, make sure to go ahead and subscribe so you don’t miss out on a single New York Yankees update cuz we got videos covering the Yankees coming out every single day from myself and Alex, giving you all the latest updates on the Yankees and making sure you know everything there is possible to know about New York Yankees baseball so you stay knowing ball. Tell all your friends if they want to know ball, this is the place to be. And let’s jump into the video because nobody needs this intro to be this long. Look, here’s the deal with Anthony Fulpy. We know that he struggled last year and we know more importantly that he did go down with a shoulder injury that caused some of his struggles to get worse. On top of that, Vulpi did get an operation done on it, meaning that he is going to be starting the year not healthy. He’s not going to be in the major league lineup on the beginning of the year or at least not in the lineup because he will be out rehabbing his shoulder for the very beginning of the 2026 season. With that in mind, a lot of fans do start to wonder what exactly happens next. I know there’s been a couple of rumors of Bo Bashette and the Yankees, though that feels increasingly unlikely that Bashette leaves the Blue Jays whatsoever. So, when we look at that, it does start to feel like Anthony Vulpi and the New York Yankees will likely be running it back for year four of the Vulpi experiment. Thus far, Vulpi has not been able to get it going whatsoever. Once a loved prospect by the Yankees, who we all saw as a future star, was never able to really get things going and has gotten worse as years have gone on, just showing a real lack of being able to break out onto the scenes. And the Yankees put Vulpi over a few other shortstop prospects which did cause them to lose their value, specifically Oswwell PZAza. And we all know how that ended. Now at Vulpi, there are some questions surrounding if there’s going to be changes next season. And Chris Kersner said Vulpi is still relatively inexpensive for a shortstop because he’s entering his first year of arbitration in 2024. He produced three point 3.5 fangraphs war. A good result, especially for a player not making much money that season. Most of Vulpi’s war was accumulated from his defense and base running. fair at this point to wonder if he’ll ever become an average offensive player. There are not many perspective or positives to point with his profile, but if he could get back to being a good defender, there is a decent enough player in there for him for the Yankees to not totally give up on him. The question is, can he be the starter? The Yankees, they want to win the World Series and Anthony Vulpi was not good offensively at all. In fact, he was quite terrible. Having a 212 batting average and a 663 OPS, the man has made it hard to justify why he should have a starting job in the MLB. It just doesn’t make sense right now. Is he a fine platoon guy? Yeah, sure. He can run the bases really well, stole 18 bases, and overall fits well as a guy who can be platooned and can play the short stop position, but also step in at second base if you ultimately needed him to. Because of all this, it does mean it makes sense to keep Vulpi around if nothing else. Very few people can play the shortstop position. And Vulpi, at least to some degree, despite all the errors, the most in the American League, he can. So with that in mind, it does become a situation that you start to look at and understand everything surrounding it. However, the Yankees also have José Cabayro who has been phenomenal with the team. In the 40 games he appeared in for the Yankees, he had a 266 batting average with 21 hits, three home runs, nine RBI’s, and 15 runs scored in that time as well. He had an 828 OPS. The man was absolutely excellent, stealing 15 bases in those 40 games. Now, Vulpi is known as a good base runner, but Vulpi only had three more steals despite the fact that he played the entire season with the Yankees outside of a couple of games. Because of that, it’s hard to justify that VA that uh Cabayro shouldn’t be the Yankees starter for shortstop if they don’t go out and make some sort of signing or trade. And as Kersner said, if Vulpi is a similar player to what he was in 2025, a poor hitter and a poor defender, the Yankees don’t have much choice but to start considering other long-term options. Suppose Vulpi is ineffective upon his return from offseason shoulder surgery. We might start to see him losing playing time to Jose Cabayro who could fill in at the position, but we’re likely at least one more season away from the Yankees exploring external options, meaning we’ll likely be looking at Cababayro and Vulpi at the shortstop position, which is very uninspiring if we’re being honest. Now, the free agency class, it’s not great. Look, I wouldn’t mind the Yankees going out and adding Willie Castro just because he gives them a real option at that position who could step in and be quite positive. Outside of that, the only other guy with high market value, who is a star, is Bo Bashette. Gets on base really well. And I’d absolutely love if the Yankees signed Bashette. I know he’s a bad defender, but at the same time, it weakens the Blue Jays and it also gives the Yankees a great leadoff hitter. That does make a ton of sense for this team. If they wanted to add more depth because Vulpi is going to start the year on the injured list, Ahmed Rosario makes the most sense to bring him back. I don’t want to see IKF back. And Medazario actually played well enough for the Yankees that he also would have an argument to be their starting shortstop on the first game of the season as he hit with a 303 batting average with 10 hits, a home run, five RBI’s, and a run scored in his 16 games. He had a 788 OPS. Is a solid fielder at the shortstop position. Can bounce around, play third base, play second base. He could do it all. He is a solid He’s a solid player who you could put in against lefties because he absolutely destroys them. So Rosario is a helpful idea. I would not mind Rosario coming in for the Yankees and being their shortstop. Though, I do prefer Cababayro. However, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them get platooned and see Rosario face off and be the team’s starting shortstop when they face lefty pitchers and have Cababayro do it against righties. I know Cabayro is a righty, but just to optimize Rosario, have him go against the lefty. Now, Brian Kman has talked about this as well recently as it was mentioned by SNY that Brian Kman says, “I think so.” when asked if he believes Vulpi will be the Yankee shorts stop once he’s healthy with Cashman saying I believe in the player still we believe in the player it doesn’t mean that we don’t pay or play with all aspects of other roster assessments he’s 24 years old I don’t think New York stage is too big for him he’s still finding his way the age there’s a lot of value to reminding yourself of that you watch the NFL these number one pick quarterbacks franchises put everything in you see players expect a lot from early on but then they’re not living up to their growing pains. Then they wind up in a different environment. Now they’re leading their teams. Sometimes this isn’t linear. It’s not always guaranteed and that’s why it’s always fair to assess with what you have. That I promise you always takes place. Cashwood also added that he believes shoulder surgery did play or shoulder injury did play a role in his pro in his performance last season, which as we all know was bad. Now with that in mind, it is going to be interesting to see what exactly the Yankees do next. I mean, Aaron Boon also talked about starting Vulby over Cababaya when Cabayera was playing well and Vulpi was not. And he said he’s ready to go. Cabayer was not a guy who plays every single day, and I want to be mindful of that. He’s a little beat up, too. So, I want to get Anthony back into the mix here, and hopefully he gives us a spark today. Good old Aaron Boon quotes. Well, he’s back for another year, so so is Vulpi. I understand that you were saying that Cabayro isn’t an everyday player, but if the other option is Anthony Vulpi, then Cababayro should be an everyday player. There’s no way around that. There’s no way to pretend like that shouldn’t be the case. That should be the case. The New York Yankees ultimately desperately need Cabayro to be the guy. I know Cababayro maybe isn’t the exact shortstop that you want for this team, but he’s better than Vulpi. He looked good with the Yankees, too. Why not explore a guy who looks good instead of repeatedly going back to a guy who has done nothing but look like a below average offensive player when with the Yankees Cabayro had an 828 OPS. It doesn’t make sense to me. It’ll never make sense to me. I don’t get it and I frankly will never get it. And I do hope the Yankees ultimately make the switch to a Cababayero Rosario sort of platoon at shortstop because it just makes more sense. What do you guys think? Great update. I’ve been saying to get Zach Neto, in a trade since last year. Let’s go . Fingers crossed
With Volpe staying, I can’t wait for another year of no WS.
Bring up Phil Hugh top/hugh mine leaguer/Short/stops sending vople down and trade him
You gave no insight on what the massive trade is??
Means he won’t start the year, not hitting with runners in scoring position ❤
We have the worst manager in Yankees history 😢😢😢
Volpe sucks
Brian cashman is stupidly if he don’t trade for Tarik skubal the dogers will keep winning if you don’t go after Tarik skubal you giving the dodgers the edge and wasting Aaron judge golden years if you don’t get Tarik skubal judge won’t win. A. Championship and Brian cashman will be blame again why hall don’t get this guy Tarik skubal is beyond me the guy is a game changer make the dam trade happen instead cashman will make stupid trades like he always does and hall won’t hold him accountable or fire him. This a dam joke with cashman calling the shots and an owners shis to cheap to spend and an embarrassment to his late father George Steinbrenner if George was alive he make that trade happen. No questions ask
This is a game changer we get Tarik skubal and send a message to dodgers we still around if dodgers get Tarik skubal then hou looking at the dodgers winning it every year
Amazing that knowledgeable people still crap on Volpe even though they are aware Volpe played with the shoulder is from May through the entire season. The coaches should have shut him down and either rested him or gone the surgical route much earlier.
How many Doobies do you smoke before you come up with all the stuff you say?
Don't forget that Oswaldo will be back too.
Bullshit title
Get volpe out of New York!
Write anything, why don't you.
