CONDENSED GAME: Boston Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils – 12/6/2025

Live from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Welcome to Boston Bruins hockey on Nessen. Tonight, the Bruins look to turn up the heat as they welcome in the struggling New Jersey Devils. Hello again everybody. Along with Andy Brickley, I’m Jud Surat. Thanks for joining us. There’s a saying in the National Hockey League, sometimes it’s not who you play, but when you play them. But tonight, Brick, the Bruins are going to see a Devils team that’s gone winless in each of its last four, shut out in each of its last two. They had to play last night and travel into Boston where the Bruins are sitting and waiting. Can the Bruins take advantage and win back-to-back games for the first time in about a month? And despite that being said, Jud, you know, the parody across the National Hockey League and just within the Atlantic Division standings, it behooves the Brewers to go on a little winning streak here, build out that victory over St. Lewis, take it on the road with you after you beat the Devils here at home. Continue to build your home dominance and then set yourself up for that nice week of home games leading into Christmas. Bruins head coach Marco Sturm has said for the Bruins to win on a night innight out basis, they need all hands on deck. That was certainly the case on Thursday against the Blues and it was the top two lines that led the charge. Yeah, when you think about the forward line combinations, uh the consistency with the third line and the effort you get from the fourth line, you can count on that four chicken game, the physicality, the low high, but when you get production like they got against St. Louis from your top sub six, that is definitely a winning formula. Look at the numbers, you know, eight points combined between Lynholm Geeky and Steves and then that second unit, Zach with a pair of goals. Love to see it when he’s finishing, taking his shots, creating his chances. Laurai shoots taken in by Allen. Yeah, I talked to a couple of people that uh covered this New Jersey Devils team and we asked, “Are we going to see a team that’s sick of losing because they lost four in a row and there’s a team that won eight games in a row earlier in the year. They’ve come out with some purpose.” couple of times they try to attack the net creating turnovers on the on the for checking game lost and it’s rised out to the zone cut off by little and then lost it. Here’s Mercer across shooting down the left. Devil’s lead score just check hard on the devil right now in front going but they got caught three deep a little bit in that situation not entirely because they did have Lynholm getting back in the middle of the ice but players can get caught up looking at the puck area. You got to pick up a wide man in that pace. And uh there by Joe up top as left of it in front of back hand and Allen made the stop and then covers with number one. Arson circle of Jake Allen ruins one devil’s Well, that plants are seated down on a team that’s lost four straight because the Devils have played a pretty smothering carrier to this point. They had a good for check. They have good back pressure. They’ve gapped up. The roads could complete two or three passes in any zone until this shift right here where they had a couple of shifts where they had some opportunities, but this is the one that gets it done. The second effort by Castley. He gets in there, makes contact initially. It looks like the Devils are going to get the puck and move it up the wall, but it’s that second effort. He picks the pocket. M still hanging around. He’s expecting the puck, he’s shot ready. The minute he gets it, it’s off his stick in a hurry. He has to get it around the defense, but it’s standing right in front of him. So, it is for the Bruins this year. He started the season on the wing as this puck is set out in front and team Omire had a trick it to him and he bangs it in to tie the game at one. [Music] [Applause] Well, we were giving the Devils credit for playing a pretty good period and you know that attitude like we’re not going to lose again. We’ve lost four in a row and this is a shot that’s going to come out from out high and it’s just going to find the Devils. Peru’s looking for a redirect. He’s being tied up by Lynholm, but Meyers loose. Coverage isn’t blanket tight. Fires deflected just fine. Gets it back in. We got another Blizzard celebration. Morgan Geeky with another tally. Five goals in his last five games. Bruins two and the Devils won. Well, the first two dumpins by Boston were purposeful enough. This one is Steve makes a nice dump in that and he knows he can get to first. But when he does are able to play that little high game, the shot by Jador offers a redirect by Lhol. And then Dylan trying to make a pass under duress from the foreer stakes and Lhol makes the read steps right into the passing lane and all of a sudden keeps wide open for a quick close range one time and no chance for 12 seconds by second for back hand denied by Allen and Asim was checked. to see if there was a rebound. And that’s a nice play hot wrap around because Rousadino’s wide open up by the offensive blue on defensive blue line. Nice little give and go between AC. Here’s Sidorov carries on a backhand and Allen the save. Zorov gets it back up top. The big man looks shoot and this goes over the glass. Turn around center shoots deflected over the glass in front. Bra returns up top. Long shot the save. Rebound to the end back down out in front. Returns up top. Long shot the save. Rebound to the end. Need to short side wide. Ne has got it at the point. Chowoski one timer coming swing the save rebound located pressure rotate send it on the slide just over stays with it on the far side by pull the trigger back of it. He loves the wraparound. Cloride fires on ahead of Allen. Settled by Sodrom. Dust it off. Got it to Asim. His pass just behind Corali. Almost lost top. The shot by Swim out there to kill a penalty with 15 seconds remaining on it. And it’s locked all back. Brats on it. The double leading scoreer. spinning his heir. Rat fires the swing with a save as Aspero flatten his check out in front. Communication needs to be better. The switches need to be better. The Devils with great effort rotation in the offensive zone giving the bro some problems. There’s that little bit of a moving screen as you know trying to take his guy and then he’s trying to maybe I can block this shot but he doesn’t. You can see Swim with those bodies in front of him. That puck’s by him already on the blocker side. the post. Devils have it. Here’s Meyer gets it away. Saka Harson Middle shoots. Ellis bought it off. Rebound. Saka going to get it to middle staff who stole it up the wall. Win fires to let it down and wide. Peak back. Arbiter on. around fires out. Joe scrape that free Joe play in the corner. crashes in shoulder to shoulder with collo deflected just wide. I think Jano got a piece of that with a shaft to the stick. Here’s Dylan shoots and he got a piece of that one and it goes into a protective net. [Music] As you know, he’s expecting Mitten to put this punch in his general direction. Get a little separation from his check and huge Harman sets it up for Ste. Stele. Looking for a little help trying to work it up the wall. Cross down to neutral zone out to ste it high out to center ice popped it in go chase Hamilton avo Heat. Heat. Dasher battle at the hash marks. Here’s Castle breaking castle throws it deep reaching for it. Merced up and the save. Little traffic out in front up the wall. Arbitson. He’ll walk it out. Returns Harrison to the slot. Tic tac stand. Bruins three doubles one. Well, the Bruins execute a really effective one, two, two in the neutrals only force. Look at him on a wide around and then they try to play the puck on the for check and the play by feet to get back and go up the wall to Arbitson. Now you got the devil’s caught deep. That’s the reason you get the threeon two. And what a wellexecuted threeon two in the middle. You get it on the wings of Arbertson. You drive through. You give a chance to come to the middle. Now you’re in triangle formation and it’s tape to tape to tape. Empty net play from Miltown on a great pass from Sa Peak shoots this bouncer. He scores. Andrew Peak fires a tennis ball down the middle of the ice. His first of the season. Bruins four. Devils one. The monkey off the back. Celebration goal by the Bruin bench. Stevens is going to try to find Geeky. He gets disrupted by the pitch by Hamilton. But Peak moving up on the play, protecting the middle of the ice. He gets to it and that is a perfect place to shoot from for an empty man. Dead center. It’s not clean, but it’s accurate. Toss it deep and the garden comes to its feet. They take away in the corner with five. Back to that castling Bruins win. Morgan Geeky your game winner tonight. Jeremy Swam exceptional. He stopped 29 of 30 and the Bruins went backto back game quick for the first time in just about a month. Yeah, this is a feel-good victory again just because everybody participated, everybody had a hand in it, everybody had their fingerprints on how the Bruins won this hockey game. It was a slo for them for about 40 minutes. Jersey was given all that they could handle, but they were fortunate to have that 2-1 lead going in the third and to have the best period of the night as a team in the third period. That’s how you win hockey games.

  1. Attention B’s fans, if you’re attending the game on December 16. Please do all of the following:
    1. Wear black and gold
    2. Take the MBTA to North Station #AVOIDTRAFFIC
    3. Arrive (at TD Garden) early (like an hour before puck drop)
    4. Boo the Mammoth as loud as you can when they come out of the tunnel
    5. Chant “LET’S GO BRUINS!!!” as loud as you can
    6. Drink responsibly
    7. Cheer your heart out

  2. Good win. There seemed to me to be much better energy from the entire team tonight. They need to play like that more. If they can string some wins together they good put themselves in much better position.

  3. Such a sound win – equally bravo for this condesnsed game recap – 15+ minutes worked fine with continuity of play to get an idea what went on in this game that I missed. Fine play by both teams.

  4. Good win for team and Swayman, but devils without their Star and being out shot 3:2 with plenty of them hitting posts probably not the best thing! At least empty netter draught is over and less penalties
