Cowboys have a George Pickens problem
Please, please, please let it be on the Eagles. Please delay of game. I said it. I was like, the clock’s down to zero. That usually they never call it. They called it. They finally called it. Call. Oh, Philly. Ridicul. That’s a ridiculous call. That’s so stupid. Oh, and they’re still got to go. Oh, that’s such a bogus call, man. Wait a minute. You know, how was the first intent, man? What are these referees? Well, good morning good people. Mark Holmes here. Of course, Jo I think fell off the couch over there. As always, I want to say thank you all for watching, commenting, subscribing, and being part of the Joe Buu Sports Report. Without you guys, as well as you ladies, you know that this literally does not work. Hope you all are having a great day. I had to step away yesterday um for a couple of reasons. It was just literally it has been a roller coaster of a ride of a season and I don’t know if that game broke me. There were so many things that went wrong from the bad officiating to what happened with George Pickkins. um seeing the defense regress it was just like a and it was my wife’s 60th birthday. So I decided that I was taking that day and I was celebrating 60 years of life with my wife and refreshing and rebooting myself and spending time with friends and family. Things that are really and truly important. So I hope you all understand completely we are still here until Monday morning. Um just kind of catching our breath here as we get ready to go through the last few games of the season. So we have a couple things that are going on. The biggest question is George Pickkins. You know, it’s amazing how a loss will change everything. Will literally change everything because George Pickkins has had a phenomenal season. And having one game really bad has literally changed. Everybody’s panic button has been now pushed. Oh my god, this is what everybody cuz everybody’s been waiting. Everybody has been waiting for the shoe to drop and say, “Oh, don’t pay that guy. See, the Steelers were right. Look at it. He’s a bum.” And everything else. But what you have to realize is people do have bad games. And as we look at this, this isn’t something we haven’t seen before because we’ve been here in the same spot before with George Pickkins with CD Lamb. You could dare say there’s a direct parallel of CD Lamb’s game against the Green Bay Packers where it seemed like he had checked out where he had dropped his first two passes that were right there in his hands. That ended up being part of what cost us the game. And you could go through and he had said, remember the offseason with the Micah Parson’s podcast that he had some growing up to do. And this was before he had gotten paid. So a lot of people said, “Don’t pay that guy. Don’t pay that guy. He’s a bum.” Well, they paid him and he’s played for the most part really well. So I’m not ready to condemn George Pickkins on that one game. Does it look like he was checked out? Yeah, he did. Did it look like he wasn’t giving full effort? Yeah, it did. But let’s see how we respond going forward here. People will sometimes have a bad game or something might be going on that you’re just not there. I guarantee you, you’ve had that happen at your job where people are like, “Get your head out your ass.” Now, I get it. You only have 17 games as an NFL player and we can’t afford for you to check out. But you could look at this and say Amari Cooper, there were games that it looked like he had checked out. So don’t go too crazy with this just yet. The officiating um there’s no consistency in officiating. There is no officiating in consistency in it. And I don’t want to say that there’s gambling is part of the equation, but see I had a conversation with somebody yesterday and you know I have gone through here and said that the NFL can kind of push things in one direction and I have a problem personally when I think that the people that are supposed to be giving me the hype, the statistics, the everything about a football game also being ones that will benefit from the outcome of a game. See you, it’s amazing how everybody got on the hype train of the Cowboys and they had it in your mind that the Lions had no chance that they were a beatdown animal. They were done. They were headed south and everything else. And the money all went to the Dallas Cowboys. Everybody’s buying into the Kool-Aid. They’re helping to build the hype and it ends up being everybody’s betting on the Cowboys and then the Cowboys lose. It’s more about money in the bottom line. I’m not saying that they do. I’m not accusing anybody, but there is a perception that it wouldn’t be too hard because you can look at it and and this game truly the pass offensive pass interference on Jake Ferguson. You got to be kidding me. If that was offensive pass interference, then there were a lot of defensive pass interferences that weren’t called. There was definitely unnecessary roughness done to Dak Prescott that wasn’t called. You could look at that game and say it was atrocious how it was done. Especially when now you have all of these cameras and all of these different angles that go through and prove bad calls are made. There’s no reason to let this happen. and the officiating crews, you know, sometimes you feel like they are a little shaded and the NFL being this multi-billion dollar industry needs to be above scrutiny about that situation. Now, the Cowboys, Kenneth Murray, can somebody explain to me how it is that you traded for Logan Wilson, that you got Rell and you got Overshon, and Kenneth Murray is getting more snaps than these guys. Kenneth Murray, I’d be okay if he never saw the field again. Some of the plays, they keep saying they like his physicality. I haven’t seen it. I have not seen it. And this is where you had thought that maybe the D defense had turned a corner, you know, now that we’ve got some more players and things. Um, more and more I believe that Matt Everfuss is a lot of the problem. You cannot make a trade for Logan Wilson and he gets about 15 snaps and you have Kenneth Murray out there getting beat constantly. The safety he he’s getting blocked past the safeties. It is just not right. It is not working. It is just an abomination. And the reality is is it doesn’t seem like any of that’s going to change with Matt Everest. So maybe the change needs to be Matt Eberuss is gone. Um I’m still backed with that guy who said that um I would have loved to have seen Al Harris as our defensive coordinator, but that ship is sailed. So the Cowboys chances of making the playoffs again, I’m just catching up from yesterday. This was get up yesterday. If the Cowboys win out, if we win every single game, which is possible, we have a 51% chance of making the playoffs. The Lions win. So, where does this leave the Cowboys is what I’m wanting. They still have a chance to make the playoffs, but they have a slim margin for error. That 51% chance to make it is in the case that they win out. They have four games left. If they win them all, there’s still only a 50/50 shot to get in. This was a devastating night for Dak and company. At this point, I don’t know if I could say we control, you know what I mean? Like our own destiny. I know it was not a stretch saying that before, but pretty sure right if we won out like we were going to have a pretty damn good record only having right five losses, one tie. Um adding the sick being six and six right now. 66 and one with what, five left now. Um, yeah, I’m pretty sure, uh, especially with just the way some of the divisions are shaped, the North, the West, um, we’re going to need some things to happen for us. You ain’t lying on that one. Are you going to tell them, which is what? It’s four left that they have, not five. Somebody got to tell them it’s a wrap, bro. It’s a Yeah, I mean, start planning them trips to Cabo. It’s it’s it’s over. It’s The Cowboys are not going to get there even if they win out. You don’t believe 10 six and one gets them into the playoffs? that one is going to kill them and and they’re going to go back and they’re going to look at the Carolina game, right? And they’re going to look at the Arizona game of their opportunity. They had to be perfect to get where they needed to go. And yesterday was a make or break game and the Lions came out as the more desperate team understanding what they had just faced and that’s really what the difference. You know, you talk about the red zone, one for three in the red zone. I mean, I we love Arbory, but we saw way too much of them. And um you know, that’s the difference. And the difference is also once picking, you know, I mean, once CD land went out, it was nobody else to save the day. Okay. So, let’s go to the top of it here. Harry, how did you describe what we saw from the Lions last night and not the Cowboys? So, I thought the Detroit Lions did a great job of playing like they were starving and they needed food to be able to survive. That’s exactly what we’ve seen. The Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand, they did not. When you talk about urgency, the physicality that the Detroit Lions played with in all three phases is something that really stood out to me, Granny. And this was a team that it just didn’t start last night. They were starving when it came to that Thanksgiving Day game and they felt some some bitterness losing at home versus the Green Bay Packers. Look at these players and the way they’re blocking for one another, the sense of urgency that they needed to be able to win this football game to stay in the playoff race. That’s what stood out to me. And you were telling me in the meeting this morning, Lewis, that a lot of the things that we have recognized as problems for the Cowboys all year long that seem to be masked or covered up in the last three games came back to bite them last night. Yeah. in particular, it’s the prevention of explosive plays on the defensive side of the football. And they’re usually are going to come about in two ways. One, because of physical deficiencies that you have from a coverage perspective, and you saw that happen last night in the one-on-one situations. They just don’t have the secondary people that can cover, and that can get people on the ground. Number two, you saw some communication issues that started to creep up again. Now, they are still able to create a lot of explosive plays of their own on the offensive side, but in the end, if you wind up getting into a, you know, a back and forth with a team as explosive as Detroit, your deficiencies are going to wind up coming home to roost. And that’s what happened to them. And right now, look, there is no more help to get. There’s nothing else they can really do at this point. And that’s why now I think as Bart said, look, this this is just one of those situations. They’re just going to have to fix this in the offseason. Yeah. The Lions have Dan Campbell and Kelvin Shepard and the Dallas Cowboys don’t. That was the difference in a game that you thought the coaching was a big difference. 1,000%. If you look at the defensive plan by Kelvin Shepard, who’s a defensive coordinator, it was very clear. One, I’m not going to expose my defensive backs early on. These guys, I’m done with them right now. You know, here’s the the thing that that that drives you crazy and and um you know, Philly 500 will be it’s December and Dak Prescott sucks in December. I think Dak Prescott has a winning record in December. I think it’s like 21 and 8 or something like that. But yet the narrative is Dak is a choker. Um in that game that our running game had issues. We did not run the ball very very well like we had been in a game that you lost CD Lamb to a concussion on a game that your tackles could not stop the edge rushers and Dak was sacked multiple times and running for his life majority of the game. In that game they still put up 30 points. I don’t want to hear it was garbage time points because with nine minutes to play, they were within three points. There were two interceptions. This is true. I will give you that. But both of those interceptions were on the hands of the receivers. The quarterback did his job of getting the ball to his receivers. Now, y’all go through, oh, you’re just a Dak defender. Well, you know what? When you say stupid things that a defense that gave up 44 points and you lost and you’re looking at the quarterback, sorry, you’re just an idiot. Um, 375 yards and I don’t want to hear that that was garbage time cuz it wasn’t garbage time. That game was a nightmare and a game that they had a chance still. Um, but unfortunately that will always be the narrative. The thing I I find hilarious is how listening to uh some of the talking heads out there, Dak played his way out of um MVP. Um I don’t know that Jake Ferguson’s fumble was Dak Prescott’s fault. I don’t know that Kavon Turpin, you know, half wave and then running the football and the Cowboys getting the ball on the 5 yd line and the offensive line not being able to hold up and he’s getting mollywpped at the goal line is Dak’s fault. The Cowboys, let’s be real here. The Cowboys won three big games in a row after losing a teammate, three-game win streak, after not having won back-to-back games all season, having new coaching staff. You can call it making excuses and things like that. We didn’t look at this team in the beginning of the year and say that this is a Super Bowl team. We looked at this team as one of the most difficult schedules in the NFL, new coaching staff, and one of the youngest teams in the NFL. I will stand by what I said originally. If this team wins nine or 10 games, it’s a successful season regardless of what all the talking heads out there will say about Dak as a choker and things. Is it an opportunity that’s probably wasted because we waited before we made these moves? Yeah, it is. You wish you had had um Quinnon Williams there during training camp and the early games because in the end, one or two games might be the difference of you making the playoffs and having a home game versus sitting at home watching others. But the basis that the Cowboys have done building for the future having two first round picks is still a good start. So I’m going to finish this this morning with Rich Eisen playoff champ. Ravens started one and five. When you start like that, it’s normally an anchor that weighs you down in the back half of the season because the margin for error gets that much slimmer. Okay. The Texans starting 0 and3 currently being seven and five is the difference between them being in the wild card or in first place or sniffing it like they are entering week 14 and they in order to keep surging need to just go into Arrowhead and beat a desperate Chiefs team on a Sunday night. They got to go into a nationally televised night game in Arrowhead, which I’ll tell you what, since Mahomes has taken over, I don’t need uh research to tell me. Uh Chiefs usually win those games. So, when you start 0 and3, that’s a problem. When you start 35 and one, and you’ve won three in a row, and you look like you’re a top five team in the NFL, they almost cracked my top five on my power rankings this week, and for good reason, cuz they were playing complimentary football. They were playing defense like we hadn’t seen over the first two months of the season because Quinnon Williams is here. De Marvian Overshon is here. They got better rostering. They got guys back. They’re getting guys back healthier on the back end of the defense. And when you lose a game like last night and you’re now 66 and one and you put up the NFC standings, the Dallas Cowboys are in trouble. cuz they’re sitting there 10th, a half game behind the Panthers. And there’s the Lions at eight. The Lions are eight and five. That’s not good enough to have a wild card position. And Dallas just lost to him. Now again, that one tie will be removing the Dallas Cowboys from any negative tie break situation because how are you going to tie anybody when you have a tie and only one other team does? And that’s Green Bay. And the problem for them is Green Bay, even if Green Bay loses to the Bears. They’re two behind Green Bay with four to go. So, they need to win out and get a ton of hope. That lands in reality. And Dallas’s remaining games, you take a look at them, are winnable cuz they’re Sunday night at home in week 15 against Minnesota. Okay, we’re all assuming that’s a win the way that Minnesota’s playing. And we’ll see how JJ McCarthy looks returning. And I hope he does, as you know, show up as the nine that he referred to himself as unfortunately a few weeks ago. Then they’ve got the Chargers at home. That’s going to be tough cuz Jim’s going to need that. And the Chargers are going to need that. And we’re going to need that. You’re going to need it, too. I know. Uh at Washington at the Giants to finish things up. You give him three wins. Let’s just say you win three of the four. That’s not going to be good enough. You got to win all four of them and then you got to hope for other results to land. I think winning the four is doable. Sure. Um but to say we’re in trouble, we I mean you are. We were already in trouble though. I mean we had a nice little streak. You were climbing out of it. You were climbing out of it. And rightfully so, you were climbing out of it. The fact is had we even won yesterday, we’d still be in trouble. So no, you’d you’d be in a better position. You’d be you’d be in that realm of a third of a chance of making the playoffs as opposed to a tenth. And that’s where you are right now. You just got to handle business. Four games. No, I know you can’t I I know you can’t scoreboard watch and and and cross fingers and you got to play games. Uh you know, Dak after last night’s game in which he had a season high passing yards, 376, CD Lamb goes out with a concussion and you saw his hands up and then you saw his hands pop up. You knew something was up. Yeah, that was it. uh he already had his 26th career 100yard passing game and Fenoi did what he did as well. Stepped up, right? And we’ll get to Pickkins in a minute. I mean, Javvante, well, listen, the offense is here’s they ran into um a team that got hot cuz they have the ability to get hot and they were hungry in a spot in Detroit where when it gets rolling and like I said off the top of the show, Jir Gibbs is absurd. He’s amazing. He’s He’s generational and he torched him. He torched him and Goff did what he needed to do and they just couldn’t put enough pressure on Goff. And these things happen in the NFL in December. You’re going to run into desperate opponents who are either just as good of you if is maybe not better and you need to play perfect football and you need to have a better, you know, he’s not lying. significant weapon landing punches than a place kicker. And I don’t mean to just refer to Brandon Aubrey as a place kicker. He’s a weapon. First ever game in the history of the NFL in which um a kicker had three field goals of 55 yards or longer. And the way he just swings his leg, it looks like, you know what, when Aubrey kicks a field goal, you know, it doesn’t even look like there’s any effort. And I know I’m I I might be crazy in saying it. Can I guess someone? No, you wouldn’t be able to guess it because it’s golf. I was about to say I was about to say someone a nice golf swing. He looks like Fred Cpple hitting a nine iron. Say Ernie VJ Freddy smooth swing. Yeah. Tempo town. He’s unbelievable. Yeah. I I didn’t mean to. Well, I mean I you know my not I know you’re not a golf guy, right? But that’s what he looks like. Freddy guy. You just hit you hit Freddy just hitting nine irons. Just flipping wedges. It looks like he’s flipping a wedge every time he swings his leg. And then he said he doesn’t even know how far he can kick the ball. That’s crazy. Cuz he’s never really tried. Like, well, he’s going to have to at some point cuz I think the Cowboys at some point are are just going to say screw it. We, you know, every every torpedo must be damned. And and again, you got to sometimes play better than the refs. All right, people. It’s uh no joy in Mudville right now and um no time to lick our wounds. We got four games left to try and at least get on the winning side of a season and see what happens. You know, um we’ve been left for dead, not once, but now twice. And uh let the Eagles lose Monday night and all of a sudden everything is right in front of you again. So, uh it’s the NFL. Anything can change, but the NFL’s got to do better when it comes to officiating and um taking care of business. As always, I appreciate you guys and I will see you soon. Peace out.

The sign of defeat on this guys face is great to see
CeeDee didnt drop those balls, due to lack of effort. lmao
Homer Holmes and the fan boys still crying about flags when the Cowboys got gifted a non safety and like 4 holding flags on one Lions drive is wild….
I fell for the that hype as well as a eagle supporter I really thought the the cowboys was playing refs ball is involved Detroit Lions was better than 3 stage of the ball sp defense offence all in all that was a good good ball cowboys was playing really hard
Seems like you was cool when the officials was giving Dallas the calls against the Eagles and KC though 🤔
Mark can cap and simp for Dak all he wants, at the end of the day, Goff was scoring TDs and Dak was depending on his kicker, spin it how you want
GoBirds 💚🦅💚🦅💚
Oh, so CeeDee checked out vs GB but nothing said about "Pick 6 Scott"… game over @ halftime
MARK “THE JINX” HOLMES did his thing against Dallas for another year……COWBOYNATION ?? All I can tell you is………………….#BLAMEMARK and don’t forget to #BLAMEWALKERWADE as well
Facts Mark. Pickens is HIM!
There is no George Pickens problem.
NFL has a referee problem.
Bad calls!
He shoulders a lot of the blame because he’s $60 million dollars doesn’t live up to what he does on the field. Both picks were thrown on double coverage. Find someone else to throw it to.
It was made a successful season after JJ made the trade to get Williams. If he didn’t make any trades cowboys would’ve lost again to the eagles and chiefs.
DAK IS SUPOES TO GATHER THE TRUPES AND RAISED HIS PLAYERS UP AND HES NOT DIONG THAT
DAK had picts and fumble,he's part of the problems.
Happy birthday Tracy
Pickens double cover lions just had his number don’t worry he will great for cowboys
Everything you just said… co-sign. 51% I’ll take it! Good work my friend! Happy Birthday to wifey! My wife and I give our best!
Mark Pickens will be fine
1. I've never heard a single word about gambling or officiating when its benefited Dallas from you even once… imagine what you'd be saying if dak threw a game winning TD and they called it off because the ref did everything in his power to avoid the player running up telling him in his face hes active and just walks away… cause I remember you laughing that one off when Detroit lost to you guys with that.
2. All the praise youre giving dak I haven't heard you say anything about how 9 of your points were from the kicker being the 1st ever hitting 3 fg's FURTHER then 57 yards plus another 2 fg's from 47+ yards… it will always look better with half of all your points coming from a kicker hitting nearly half a dozen kicks from the 40 yard line all the way to the 50. Noones had the same privilege of a kicker like that kid who's kicked about twice as many 60 yards fg's then anyone else in history and STILL on a rookie deal
Notice who his agent is lolol
I'm sure Jerry fumbled this one too
Truly have to follow the money they was taking the COWBOYS out of the game I believe were there is gambling the mob is very close wow
They wasn't playing them guys on this game this how I know something not right wow
Al Harris should've never been let go of Dallas crazy for letting him go wow
That wasn't on Dak them turnover hit the right people's hands that didn't catch the ball one was taken out of the receivers hands just Dak haters
Pickens is not a bum hes a really good receiver but he has a attitude problem period and because of that you can't pay him top dollar even when you dont see his attitude in the other games look at all the personal foul flags hes gotten for celebrating or getting upset hes needs a attitude adjustment or as they say he needs to grow up!!!!
dallas has a boat-load of issues – to think win 3 games in a row and going to the SB crazy just crazy think
I think we got a dak problem , hes the longest tenure cowboys
Mark you and 500 NEED to go to a game together, preferably Eagles vs Cowboys lmao it has to happen. Go birds
If anything the NFL would want Dallas in the SB every year, so any shading from the refs would be to Dallas’s favor.
The amount of ratings, popularity and money that comes from the Cowboys being champions or people hate watching them would far away outweigh and Vegas kickbacks.
Point makes no sense.
Also, Micheal Irvin never took any games off. Ronnie Lott sure the heck didn’t. Ed Reed, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady never checked out of the game.
Pickens has like 10 check out games on his resume in his short career. That why people don’t want to commit franchise guy money to him.
Yeah the officiating is why dallass beat the Eagles in my humble opinion! Your loyal Redskins fan
lol how many superbowls would Dallas and the 49ers have if there was concussion protocol? I just wonder
Dallas deserves everything they get with Jerry cares more about oil and his ego. Ya he did a lot for the league but until he retires or sorry dies and his kids hopefully sell ur screwed
Mark will glaze bad Santa Dak till the end of time ⏲️
Mark it isn't how bad George was it is the way he did it. The dude just quit on plays just like before. Mark though is just going to excuse it away as always. As always "Nothing to see here" move along.
Dallas ain't got no 50% chance of doing anything. What the hell is wrong with you?? Remember other teams need to lose all the remaining games as well.
How can you sit there and listen to these idiots yesterday they were saying the Cowboys were the next Super Bowl champions now They’re saying they’re trash with what stupidity bunch of clowns.
Such troll job
Kicking FGs in the 1st half sealed the Cowboys faith..There should be no reason why the Kicker has more points then Dak..
