[The Charge] 11 Thoughts on the Sabres: It’s a rollercoaster

  1. Until this team learns defense, learns puck control, they are going no where

They have speed talent youth they do great on the rush

And little hockey iq..clog the middle unable to gain on the forecheck

Re-watch last night’s Winnipeg game or Philly game ..those teams still at blue line forced turn over after turn over..why? Unable to carry it in..when they shoot it in they loose the puck battle

Turn over on the rush no one covering on the back check

Soft on defense…not clearing crease. Not getting under sticks in crease, puck watching instead of looking for third man coming in, poor puck battles when trying to clear the zone

Do that play well at times ? Yes..usually 45 to 50 minutes a game..then fixable mistakes happen

Same story for last 3 years

  2. They’ve played on home ice and have played fast and skillfully and when doing so absolutely no doubt look like what should be a playoff team. And then they go on the road and it looks like a completely different team.
