LIVE: Postgame vs. Oilers | December 6, 2025

[Music] [Music] How frustrating was that first period for you guys here today? Yeah, it obviously wasn’t what we wanted. Um, you know, they’re a good team when they, you know, you know, I was playing last night. Um, you know, they they got on us early. That’s what you usually try to do against a team that’s coming on a back to back, especially with travel. So, um, you know, we got to be better. Um, you know, we hang hung uh calms out to dry in that first period and, you know, it’s tough to to to rebound from being down for a rip. And how about just like the response afterwards, the final two periods in your opinion? Uh this, you know, I think the third was probably near our best. You know, we made made some plays, we had some chances, had some ozone time. Um you know, Skinner even made some big saves. So um you know, that was better in the third. Um you know, now we just have to to you know, we finally have two days in between games um for the first time in a long time. It’s been a long stretch, especially being on the road a lot. So um we got to get our get our rest and be ready for a good home stand. How nice will it be to get some practice time and then be in your beds on top of that? Yeah, it’ll be very nice. It feels like we uh we haven’t been home a whole lot in the last, you know, month and a half. So, um you know, it’ll be nice to uh you know, just get the two days. Two days in between games is rare, especially in a year like this this one. So, um we just got to take it to our advantage. [Music] [Music] six periods. Just how tough was that first period in your opinion? Yeah, obviously it was a tough first period. Um, I think just that was tough uh back to back for us and uh we uh they came out hot and and we weren’t ready to match that. When you look at the two periods, did you see a lot more of the game that you wanted to play and then you maybe have got more to in the third period? Um yeah, I think there was probably some positives there at the same time. Um I mean when it’s four four nothing, 5 nothing or whatever. I mean the they’re kind of come off their pace a little bit too. So all we could do was battle at that point and uh that was the message and we did a better job. Do you um just the grind that you’re through? Um I don’t know is it is it no matter how much experience you have, it’s still a grind and it’s still tough despite you know top level athletes and top level talent. Yeah, it’s a grind. I think when you look at the schedule, condensed season, everybody goes through it and we’ve just gone through it uh with with our version. I guess in the last number of weeks, um, you know, that’s where little details matter. Um, you know, you can’t make excuses in this league. You have to find ways to win games and get extra points and things like that when you’re in a tough schedule and, uh, you can’t let mistakes compound and, you know, end up in the back of your net. um you know so it is it is part of the NHL but uh you know I think like I said it’s it’s part of being a a great team is is handling that schedule and you know you might not feel your best you might not be snapping it around u like you do when you’re on your agame but you have to find ways to you know stay in hockey games push push games to OT and and obviously get those greasy wins and um I don’t think that was uh something we’ve done a great job of here of Babe, thank you. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] backs are tough from travel and just a little bit of what you thought. You took a time out and it seemed like you got to your club saying we we can still be in this. What was kind of the message as you Yeah, I’m not putting a schedule on uh on this side. you know, the whole league’s going through this now because Olympics, everybody’s having their tough part of the the grind of a schedule. For me, you know, we had talked about the first 10 minutes. Um, you know, that we had to be smart about how we did things. We give up a, you know, we do a terrible line change on the first one. They get, you know, they get three goals in 7 and 1/2 minutes to start. We’re not, you know, both mentally and physically, we weren’t ready to go. And at the end of the day, I’ll take responsibility for that. But you know we do a you know we do a ter line change they get an opportunity to get a rebound put it in next time we give up a with both uh you know both the outside the circle then we do a turnover in a neutral zone all that happens in a very short period of time that’s the mental side of things that’s the stuff the details that especially like I mentioned the first 10 minutes you knew they were going to come and they were going to come hard and um we didn’t respond in the right way. How tough was that to watch going after like you felt like you had six good periods behind you in Montreal and in Winnipeg on Friday. Yeah, it’s hard. You’re trying to take steps forward. You’re trying to gain points and all how no matter how you do it and you know that’s another big step backwards and we’ve been kind of repetitive on doing this and you know we’ve got to find a way to get that consistency in our game. Thank you. Thank you. [Music] Hey everybody. [Music] [Music]
