Classy Blackhawks, Handshake Line For Anze Kopitar

[Applause] going to parry and maybe one too many passes there and Turkot at center ice. Kaiser stole it in front to Badard. Shoots it right on. Stop by Keer and that was Baddard’s best chance tonight and he had a lot of time to the wrists. Snap it. Now a little discussion after but Keer who has not had to be busy here in the third back in the first but I just think his positioning Mike Buckley is the goalending coach with the Kings and when he joined the Kings I asked him about Dart he said his read of the play is probably his strongest point. That read leads to good positioning. You get that position gives you a better chance right there top of the crease to make a save because Bernard as good as anyone with a wrist and the line again. Dumalan for Kasmeco. Now Deno for Fogle. Kasmeco fakes it. Shot by Fogle. And that’s going to do it. A convincing 6 nothing win by the Kings. Their biggest win at home ice. Keer’s second shut out, 38th of his career. All Kings tonight. [Applause] Took a while to get going, but they get it going. Special teams were a huge factor in this game. The Kings will celebrate and they should. They have to enjoy this because it’s been a struggle offensively. The Blackhawks, I think, waiting for Andre Kopitar perhaps to show their respect. We’ve seen that from visiting teams. We’ve seen that from teams on the road. And the Kings will get a chance here to salute the crowd. And the Blackhawks are hanging around for Andre Kopitar. And we bring in Jared Stole right now. Stolley, you just got to enjoy it, right? You got to enjoy this type of thing. Yeah, you do. For sure. Yeah. I I don’t know the last time where the Kings won a game by six, especially at home, but uh won the special teams battle. Like you said, they’re one for two in the power play and they killed all three Chicago power plays, which like I said, I mentioned a couple times already. I think that’s what started this whole comeback. I didn’t think they played a good first period, but hey, they made up for it in the second and third. That was uh that was textbook. Yeah, Andre Kopitar going through the line right now. And yeah, this is special to see. I I love this. I played obviously I played with Kopi and uh you got to respect the guy so much. He’s he’s such a leader. He does everything right on and off the ice. He has never messed up in my eyes at all. I said before, right? You know, used to be Dominic Wilson Wilkins. He was the human highlight film, though. Yeah. Andre Kopitar is the human instructional video. Yes. I mean, you if you’re a coach and you want examples, you just go back to his shifts and you’ll show it time and time

  1. The Anze Kopitar Farewell Tour is still going strong…

22 seasons in the league…likely to pass 1500 games 1300+ points….not to mention a two Cup winner in 2012 and 2014…Selke Trophies in 2015-16 and 2017-18 and not to mention the three Lady Byng Trophies… More impressive it's with only ONE team the LA Kings…

I know that they'll have one huge hole to fill at 1C after he retires and I'm not expecting much out of the Kings playoff wise until that hole is filled…

I am praying that he signs a 1 day contract when his #11 is up in the rafters…but secretly hoping that Charlie Simmer's goes up there too to complete the Triple Crown line… I think the next two jerseys up after this will be #32 and #8…

  2. I was at the Kings' visit to Nashville in October and the crowd gave Kopitar a nice ovation when they acknowledged that it would be his last game in Nashville. Love the way this sport shows respect to its own greats

  3. 0:40 Classic kiddie Bedard. Bedard waited for Clarke to turn and a linesman to be close before crosschecking Clarke in the back. Don't start something then run behind a linesman.

  4. Hockey is a unique sport , a great sport . We give a trophy to the most gentlemanly player each season . Yet during the game , they go into battle like an invading army . After the game , sportsmanship is number 1 .
