Post-Game Press Conference: Cade Cunningham | Pistons vs. Bucks | 12.06.2025
Kade, you guys struggled with the zone just three days ago when you saw these guys. What were you able to do tonight to find more success against it? Yeah, just I mean move the ball, punch gaps, um make them have to move around. It’s hard to it’s hard to contain the offense that’s moving around in the zone. And then I think our big guys, everybody did a great job offensive rebounding um getting us extra possessions. Closing out games in the fourth quarter is something this group has been trying to work on and you guys were able to do it with a really big lead to close it out with a lot of energy. How were you able to do it so effectively? Yeah, just staying in the moment u one possession at a time, not getting comfortable with the lead, knowing that it’s the NBA, you know, a league can shrink too fast. So, um I thought we had great poise and uh followed the game plan game plan throughout. What have you seen from Bisar and just his comfort level from mid-range? He’s been taking and making more this season and he had a couple tonight, too. Yeah, he’s been great. Um, I mean, it’s a spot he know he can get to. Uh, he can get above anybody to get the shot off and I mean, he’s been working on it like crazy. Every time he shoots it, I feel like it’s going in. Um, so it’s great to have that weapon for him. I know. Uh, but I mean, just his aggression and everything opens up our game so much and it’s hard for people to stay in front of him. So, he’s just a matchup problem whenever he’s going downhill and he’s aggressive. Y’all had six guys in double figures last night, seven tonight. What What is What do wins like these kind of just say about the depth that y’all have? Yeah, these are the best ones. You know, we move the ball around. Everybody gets, you know, a piece of the action. Um, everybody, you know, I think just played a great brand of basketball. We had a lot of turnovers first half. We cut that down second half and, you know, I think that was the ch that was changing the game for us. So, uh, these are the fun ones. Everybody gets in on it. Um, everybody can score the ball. We got a lot of depth like you saying. So, you know, it’s easy for guys to put the ball in the rim. It’s just about us following the game plan and getting each other shots. And then y’all are four and one on the second night of back to backs now. What’s kind of been the key for y’all? I mean, second night back to backs are the tough ones. Those are the ones you got to grind out. And that’s the strength of this team is the dirty, you know, nasty games. us coming together and find ways to grind those games out. This is your um second season playing under coach JB Bigger Staff as a guard. What can you share about the way he teaches the game to whether it’s yourself or other guards? Yeah, I mean he has a I think he has a great understanding of both the like front court position and back court. Um, he’s helped me a lot as far as, you know, in our system, what looks can be there, ways I can manipulate the game and stuff, ways I can help get guys involved. U, but I think he has the same amount of savvy from the big spot, too, which a lot of times I think people are one or the other. U, I think he just has a great feel for the game overall, what guys need, um, and what the team needs. So he does a great job of explaining it, translating things to us um in terms that we can understand and uh I mean he has a great system in place where we already want to compete at a high level and execute it. St got a lot of attention for his defense lately, but really productive night on the offensive end as well. I mean, you find a lot of connection with him, you know, feeding him the ball. Um definitely knocking out some jump shots as well. Kind of talk about what you saw from him tonight. Yeah, I mean aggressive. Um he can do it inside, he can do it out. 35 from three. Um he’s worked tirelessly on that three ball. I mean it’s it’s official now. And inside I mean he just beats people up. Um offensive rebound, stealing people, getting position, scoring the ball right hand, left hand. So, he’s doing he’s doing a lot of good things for us, and he’s just getting better and better as we
