NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Philadelphia 76ers | December 7, 2025 NBA Regular Season LIVE

In today’s NBA sim, Luca Dantich and the Los Angeles Lakers go up against Tyrese Maxi and the Philadelphia 76ers. Who comes out on top? The star power of the Lakers or the surging 76ers? Watch the full video to find out. [Music] down. Hey, baby. [Music] Just how drained are you from yesterday as a player? You know, BA, proper rest and stretching can help a lot, but you’re not going to be your usual self at the start of game time. Believe that. Aton passes to James. Pass to Reeves. Four on the clock. Takes a three. Paul George pulls it in. [Applause] Maxi against Donic. Maxi surveys. And here’s George [Applause] Reeves with some nice tea. [Applause] James outside pass to Reeves down low. Here’s Donic. Goes back up. Banked it in off the glass. Donic. Oh my. Tight defense, but Donic just muscles it in. And so it’s Maxi with it. He brings it up for Philadelphia. And here’s Ubé from the arc. And Reeves pulls it down. The Lakers have gone one for three so far. Donic outside. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s going to go on Tyrese Maxi. And this team’s offensive catalyst. Donic puts pressure on the defense every possession. Los Angeles shooting their first shots from the stripe in this game. The first one falls. And when we talk about franchise players, guys who can carry a team, Luca Donuch is one of the few guys in that category. [Applause] and he makes both free throws. RJ, it’s hard not to wonder what would have happened if the Lakers never traded for Russell Westbrook back in 2021. Well, they would have had a traditional style of a team. They would have kept Koosma, KCP, and their 2021 first round pick. They also would have been able to sign Alex Kusa. They could have kept their championship core together. He’s a producer. It’s part of their plan to get him as many touches as possible. Outside Reeves pass to James. Good work there as it goes in the paint. LeBron James is capable of running right over the defender. That is athletic. Screen by Embiid for three. George buries it from three. Defensively, you have to stay connected to him on the perimeter. The Lakers have gone just two for four from the floor. All right, let’s check in with Ally Leforce. Well, I had a chance to talk with head coach Nick Nurse and I asked about LeBron James and how his team plans to stop him. He said I told her guys that we can’t give him any lanes to rim because when that happens, everything else in his game opens up. We need to plug every avenue to the basket. Guys, let’s see if they’re able to execute the strategy. Good job there, Ally. Thanks. And timeout is called by Nick Nurse. Coach wants to speak to his guys, maybe alter some of the game plan. Here they come. Nick, let’s use this time to have a look at the team scoring leaders. Fourth, the Lakers. They’ve been having a great season on the offensive end of the floor. It never takes this team long to put big points up on the board. [Applause] Just over two and a half minutes played here in the first. Embiid high post shot from 12. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. last time they met in Los Angeles. They came away with an easy win last time too in large part to their work on the glass. And if they can keep that same physicality, you have to think they’ll be in a good position to grab another win here. 76ers trail by three. Outside Maxi. Stolen by Eightton. Here he goes. Oh, and the jam by Aton. Terrific physicality from Aton just going right to the rim. Philadelphia has gone one of two from three-point land so far. Pass to Embiid and he lobbs it up to the rim. He’s just an aggressive finisher there inside. Hey, when you got bounce like that, you feel like you can take on anybody. Just under three and 1/2 minutes elapsed here in the first quarter. Maxi against Donic. Gets the three ball to go. Donic. Donic has got seven points in the game. Getting out to a nice lead. Great flow and great execution. George with it. A steady force on their offense recording around 14 and a half a game. And the officials whistle a foul on the shot. The bucket is good and he’ll go to the line. and just not letting the tough defense stifle him. I mean, George gets the shot he wants. Hustle pays dividends, I’ll tell you. And when it’s getting you to the line like that, man, what a night at the line for Philadelphia shooting one. Well, Grant, you often hear about how smooth Paul George’s game is. Yeah, I’ll tell you this. Young players could learn a lot by watching his footwork, his timing, his ability to find the space he needs. It’s just tremendous. Fires from the wing and it’s Donic missing. 76ers trail by three. Bubé passes to Maxi. Whistle blows. Yep, that’s going to be a travel. As we get deeper into the season, the Eastern Conference standings are really taking shape. Let’s take a look. You take a look at Philadelphia, they’re way down there in the conference, but still optimistic they can turn it around. When I look at the 76ers, there’s no doubt they feel the pressure mounting. I mean, failing to match those expectations from the start of the year is apparent. Man, we keep waiting for them to turn it around and waiting and waiting. And at this point in time, I’m just going to say it’s probably not going to happen. Just four to shoot. Here’s James. They get it back out to Aimura. And the Lakers hit again from deep. You have to pay attention to Hachimura. No matter where he is. Pass to George. Embiid. A screen on James to the inside. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. They’re moving on after the tough loss they took at the hands of the Hornets. Just a tough road loss. You’re going against players who are comfortable shooting in their own building. You have to find a way to disrupt their focus. Well, they weren’t fighting through screens. Their closeouts and rotations were late. You name it, and let’s just say they didn’t do it on defense. And so, it’s Nick Nurse calling timeout here. He’s going to gather the troops and talk it over. Well, this was a big suburb for the 76ers. trying to capitalize on their championship window with superstar Joel Embiid. You’re spot on, VA. Acquiring the talent that might allow him to save himself for the home stretch. Of course, last year’s playoffs, he battled heroically, but ideally they’d like him much closer to 100% come the postseason. And the Lakers making a change here. Smarts checked in. [Applause] George passes to Ubé. Back to George. Embiid high post shoots over Eightton. Philadelphia with another miss. The Lakers lead by six. Smart outside and here’s Reeves outside. He’s off on that one. Locking the arc down. Defense knows it’s on them to scare off those shots. Out left to the wing. Pass to Maxi for three and Aiden pulls it down. I love how they’ve attacked the boards here in the first quarter. To the paint. Here’s James and slam dunk by James. Roll back that clock. LeBron the King still reigns. Here’s Maxi. He really had an off game against the Bulls. There’s the triple. Keeps it alive. It’s good on the foot back. He’ll be around the rim. Defense has always got to know his whereabouts. James outside back to Donic. Pass to Aiden and Embiid with the block. Every year he’s a defensive player of the year candidate. His instincts, that’s what makes Embiid outstanding and his awareness of when to go for the block. [Applause] Maxi against Donic. Shot clock at six. Let’s go with a three. And that’s good. Maxi for three. And now just a three-point Los Angeles lead. A tough shot for most guys, but Maxi puts a smooth stroke on him. Donic deciding where to go with it. That bucket makes him three for five. Yeah, this period they’re letting him go to work and it’s paying off. And so it’s Maxi who brings up the ball for the 76ers outside UB. Back to Maxi to the middle and George with the basket on the assist from Maxi. George has got a musling his way for the bucket. George doing what he does best. Here’s Donic. Nine points in the game. James outside. Donic against Maxi. Fires the three and Donic with the three. 12 points for him. Very consistent tonight at the offensive end. Right there. He helps fuel the fire. The three ball and Aiden pulls it down. Los Angeles leading by six. It’s stolen by Ubé. Fast break. Philadelphia. The finish on the break with the slam. If they keep finding steals like that, they won’t be in the hole much longer. Los Angeles has gone three of six shooting from beyond the arc. Outside Reeves. Pass to Aiden. Smart for three. No good. The 76ers have gotten eight of 16 attempts to fall. George feels it out of it. His fourth make in five tries. Solid start for him. Defensively, they’ve got to get more bodies in the paint. And that’s three straight field goals from below the free throw line. And so JJ Reic calls for the timeout. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments checked in for Los Angeles. Everybody get loud for them once again. Here’s Donic coming off a 34-point game against the Hornets in Charlotte. Also, his ability to push the action and get to the line made a huge difference. Tries from 6 ft and it’s connect missing. Philadelphia has gone just two for six from the arc here in the first. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. You got to love Tyrese Max. his approach to the game. He said, quote, “I really have a simple life. I have this joy about playing basketball. I like putting in the work, so I’m extremely focused, extremely competitive, and I’m out here having the time of my life. I get to do what I love every single day, and it’s a blessing.” Brian, he’s such a positive guy. Yeah, he really is. Thanks for that, Ally. James passes to Donic. [Applause] Lets it go from 11. Trained it for two points. Donic has got 14 points. This man is on fire. His team is winning and it doesn’t get better than that. Pass to Drummond. Oh, a clear foul there on the miss shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line and a chance for a moment to check out the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. They’ve really been dialed in from deep. This is a team that has a ton of confidence in their outside shooting ability and they’ve done a tremendous job just creating havoc defensively. Active hands have led to tons of turnovers that they’ve capitalized on. That free throw no good. Edwards, he’s checked in for Philadelphia. And Los Angeles making a change here. So, he can’t get either to fall. We know how great Joel Embiid is, but he simply hasn’t been as effective in the postseason. Part of that is because of all the defensive attention he gets. We know things tighten up in the postseason and things become much more challenging. That’s why he needs a better supporting cast. Five to shoot. Here’s Reeves. Rebound by Philadelphia. And usually that’s a bucket for him. But look, nobody’s perfect in the mid-range. Prime shot is off. Los Angeles leading by four. [Music] Now here is James. He has six inside. Here’s Hayes. Okay. Look out. Wow. And that one is stuffed right through. Just another dime from LeBron. And this man, every time he drops a dime, I feel like he moves up the leaderboard. There’s the AT&T 5G Slam Cam capturing the moment. [Applause] Smart against Maxi. Edwards. The pass to Grimes. Drummond with the screen. Fires for three. A nice shot by Grimes. Pigle works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that just comes down to a lack of effort. The defender has to do a better job fighting through the screen. Pass to Hayes. Now here’s Reeds. He shoots. Nice shot from the wing. He really hooked the defender with that pump fake. It worked to perfection. Here’s McCain. He’s covered by Reeves driving in. Oo, good finish at the rack off the slick feed. showing off some mobility there. When Drummond rolls like this, he’s hard to stop in pick and rolls. Now, here’s Reeds. He’s guarded closely. Three-pointer and they recover it. Oh, and he hits it at the buzzer. Great job ending the quarter on a high note. That’s the play that pumps up the whole team and they’ll try to carry that energy into the next period. Oh, what a performance by Luca Donic. He has If you’re just joining us, we played through one quarter in this one. Taking a look at the Lakers performance here, guys. What are your thoughts? Was pretty obvious. I mean, cashing in on extra opportunities. That’s how they built this early lead. When you’re the more aggressive club, good things tend to happen. We’ll see if they can maintain this level of intensity. 76ers trail by five. So on the floor for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter. Austin Reeves out there with Connect. Then there’s Jackson Hayes. Then there’s Marcus Smart. And it’s Larabia in at the four. This has been a close game in a lot of ways, but they do have an edge on the boards. Hayes misses. Looking for the spectacular and coming up empty. Just go to show how tight your timing needs to be on this kind of play. A nice shot by Grimes. And once more this half they find a way to get great position inside. Reeves the pass to Arabia. Back to Reeves. Takes the assist and lays it in. Nice setup. Reeves has got his second bucket of the night. I love how assertive Reeves is. He is not bashful about trying his luck inside. Philadelphia has gotten three of their seven threes to find the net in this matchup. Embiid high post. Pass to McCain. No good from outside. And so Smart will bring it up for the Lakers. It’s a five-point game. After this game, they can look forward to Washington where they’ll match up against the Wizards. It’ll be the fourth of six games for them away from home. Here’s McCain. Embiid inside and it’s good. First made shot in four attempts. The footwork, the patience, watching Embiid go to work inside is just a treat. Closing in on two minutes played here in the second. Outside Reeves. Pass to Labraia and the shot goes. Larivia’s gotten his first bucket of the night. Richard, as we’ve seen, sometimes all a player needs to prosper is a change of scenery. Well, no doubt, BA, one of the biggest deciding factors in being successful is how you fit into a system and how you fit in with the players around you. The perfect roller can out and shoot, cut, make the extra passes, really anything in that set. The Lakers lead by three. Here’s Connect. No points yet to the paint. It’s tipped outside. Reeves. Clock at six. Hayes with a screen. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock and finished off by Hayes. Nice pass by Reeves reading the floor. That’s one of his strengths. And we’re now a little over 2 and 1/2 minutes into the second. And so it’s Nick calling timeout here. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. Hey man, bring your extension to center court for your Sixers ENT. And Los Angeles making a change here. Aimura’s checked in and the latest update on allstar voting. Not much time left. Only a couple more days to cast your ballot. Oh, it’s coming down to the wire. Some of these players are sweating it out. You look at Embiid. If voting ended today, he’d be a starter, sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference, and I hope it stays that way. He’s just been fantastic this year, and I believe he deserves to start in the East. And it’s hard to contain the excitement as we look ahead to what promises to be an outstanding all-star weekend and one move ahead of the defense. A solid pick and then the monster dunk to complete the play. Well done. Great chemistry on display. He understood where to put the screen in order to free up his teammate. Has to connect. And here’s Aimura. Aimura is always ready to go into that overdrive inside and fight you forward. These are his first free throws of the game. The line for the Lakers. Two shots. [Applause] free throw good. Hachimura, a reliable role player. Hachim Moore’s versatility, especially scoring wise, is what makes him so valuable. LeBron, he’s checked in for Los Angeles. [Applause] And both free throws good for Aimura. [Music] 76ers trail by five outside. UB pass to Grimes. Launches it on target from range. Rimes has got five points now this quarter. You can’t lose a shooter like him on the court. The ball will find its way to him and he will drill a three each time. For Los Angeles, they’ve gone three of five since the beginning of the second down low. Here’s James. The bank shot no good. The 76ers have gotten five of seven shots to go in the second. UB can’t tie it up. That one misses. I thought he had that all sewn up, but somehow the defense just threw him off. Now Reeves a steady force on their offense recording around 14 and a half a game. Pass to Hayes to the inside. James Strong inside. Man, this guy, he just lives in pressure. He’s so cool in those moments. very aware of the shot clock situations at all times. I’m not even impressed anymore. Philadelphia has gone one of two from deep in the second quarter. Left side ubakers. [Applause] He had more than enough room to hit that. Just couldn’t make it happen. And the call will be against Kelly Ubé. Kelly. That’s his first foul. Connect checked in for Smart. Foul. Second team foul coming onto the floor for the Lakers. Number four, Dalton Connect. picked it out of midair to the middle. Here’s McCain. Played it in with a nice touch off the window. McCain’s got his second basket of the game. He’s good enough where it takes a lot to bother him at the rim like that. James outside. And once again, off the mark by Los Angeles. Here’s McCain. He had a 12-point outing in their last game against the Bulls in Chicago. And here’s Ubé from the arc. The Lakers with a rebound. Reeves has got four rebounds now. Right wing. And here’s Connect outside. Nails it from beyond the ark. Connect got his first three points of the game. Oh, you expect Ruie to finish that play, but when a guy is this open, he makes a quality pass. [Music] Here’s McCain. He’s covered by Reeves. [Music] Screen by Embiid. Here’s Grimes. And they waste no time getting those three points back. Grimes has got eight here in this quarter. That’s his second triple of the quarter and third of the game. Keep building. Aimura sets his screen. Has to connect. Aimura in the post. He’s covered by Ubé for Philadelphia. They’ve gotten seven of 12 shots to go here in the second. Offensive board. Second chance shot. Misfires there. Four for six in the game. Now here’s connect. He’s averaging just around eight and a half points a game. Outside Reeves Murrell from long range. The rebound by Embiid. Embiid’s got four rebounds now. And Grant, I know you played a part in Embiid’s decision to join Team USA. Yeah, BA, I spent a lot of time talking to Joel Embiid and convincing him to play for us in the US men’s national team. And it falls all over the rim and inbid’s got six. He’s turned it on here in the second quarter. Getting his offensive game on track and Reeves has got the ball here for the Lakers. Aimura outside pass break. Philadelphia Ubé can’t hit. He just looks off this quarter. Looks like he’s forcing it a bit right now. A little bit in his head. Here’s James. and McCain pulls it down. Philadelphia has gone two of five from distance here in the second quarter. Pass to Ubé [Applause] and unable to get the go-ahead bucket there. He’s lost his rhythm completely this quarter, but he’s determined to stay after it. Outside Reeves. [Applause] Hayes with a screen to win the Colts felt. They grab their own miss. Here’s James. That’s his six make 11 tries. Just zero hesitation from James trusting his shot. Here’s McCain. He’s covered by Reeves. Here’s the teardrop. A nice shot by McCain. He has six. He was inside his own head in that first quarter. You can see now he’s doing a much better job of letting the game come to him. And so JJ Reic calls for the timeout and we might see some changes. Coach potentially looking to adjust. [Applause] defenders at the small forward position. The guys with the most steals per game over the past month. In the third spot, Paul George. And if you’re an opposing small forward, this might also double as a list of the most irritating players in the league because when you tackle them headto head, it’s on. These guys are stoppers. There is no assignment that is too tough for them. From deep, here’s Donic. Hits the trifecta. Donic has got 17 points. Encouraging to see Donic sink the three. Needs to keep doing this now. No one near him. LeBron with the rebound. The Lakers lead by three. Donic outside and it’s slammed in by AIA. And the lead increases on a crazy offensive sequence. Man, the dunk alone would have been incredible. let alone the fact that it came off a pinpoint pass. Let’s go now to the sideline and catch up with Alli Leforce. Brian, the Sixers two stars make a great pairing. Maxi said of Embiid, “Since I was a rookie, he’s had the ultimate faith and believed in me.” And Embiid said of Maxi, “He’s something else. Always smiling with the same energy. Good games, bad games, always the same. People like that set the tone for everybody else.” Brian, that’s a good call, Ally. Thank you. And he makes a first. That’s also good. So he hits both free throws. The Lakers in the lead. And here’s James. He’s got 12. Pass to Donic. Aimura with a screen on George. Six on the shot clock. Donic. No good. And lock down defense against one of the best three-point shooters in the league. Yeah. And the defense has really got to tighten up on him. I mean, he’s just too dangerous from the three-point line to the inside. And that one’s good. Lorabia. Loravia’s got four points now in the quarter. Every team in the league, all 30, would love to have a player like Marcus Smart. He’s always looking to set up his teammates and play lock down defense. Outside Ubé. Here’s Drummond using his post moves to get the two points. He knows his job on the glass and he does it well. Cleaning it up and sending it right back. Now here’s Dantic guarded closely. But the teardrops, so it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. That’s his first now to see how the schedule is looking for the Philadelphia 76ers. On Wednesday, they’ll be playing against Russell Westbrook and the Sacramento Kings. And then on Friday, they’ll be taking on Nola Joic and the Denver Nuggets. And for their matchup with the Celtics, it’s going to be a hardfought battle. You just hope they are able to execute their game plan as it should be a close one. [Applause] That’s good from Donic. And Donic is a walking triple double threat. His versatility and confidence is really special. And some changes here for the Lakers. DeAndre Aiden comes in for Larabia and Reeves is subbed in for Smart. [Applause] And so he’s able to get one of two. Yeah, they’re playing a much more physical game here in the second quarter. George outside. Back to Maxi. 144 left in the half. They get it again. Drummond and Drummond with the jam. And when the game is this close, you have to go all out. He certainly understands his role, huh? When the shot goes up, just crashes the offensive glass. He’s just giving them everything he has. It’s why his teammates appreciate and enjoy playing with him. They just look so overwhelmed inside. You know, that’s why they continue to get attacked. 76ers trailed by four. He’s covered by Reeves. George outside. There’s the three. That one’s in there. Drummond with the assist. George has got 13 and great range is a big part of why George is a highlevel score. Deflects the pass. [Applause] Philadelphia has got six out of 15 threes so far in this game. Drummond to screen the three. George rebounded by the Lakers. James has got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. From deep. Here’s Donic. Drops in the three. Donic has got 23. They’re going to have to pay more attention to him on the perimeter. He’s hit four three-pointers already today. He’s cold from distance here in the second quarter. May want to try a different approach moving forward. Aimura. The pass to James. Good work defensively by Ubé. And a pretty tightly contested game here as we end the first half. Lakers ahead. They’re up by four. Well, now we have some time to check in with Ally Leforce. Ally. Okay, Ally. Appreciate it. And folks, we’ll be back after halftime to begin the third quarter. I hope we get to see all. And turning now to the game we’ve been watching, Luca Donuch has been lighting it up. He’s been money from distance, taking every opportunity he gets to drop a three on him. Got to do a better job of chasing him off that line. The thing is, out beyond the arc, he’s been deadly from every spot. and Maxi’s got the ball here for the 76ers trailing by four and after this one they’re at home against Sacramento George out there with Kelly Ubé then there’s Tyrese Maxi then it’s Joel Embiid that’s the group for Nick Nurse getting going here in the second half. Down to five on the shot clock and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got five rebounds in the game. Aimura outside. Back to Reeves inside. Oh, hard finish from LeBron. This is classic LeBron leaping off the floor for a powerful dunk. Here’s Maxi. [Applause] He’s covered by Reeves. Outside Maxi Six to shoot off target from outside and the defense got away with one there. I mean, that’s a shot he typically makes. James double teamed from downtown and it’s Philadelphia with the rebound. Embiid’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Pass to Ubé from outside the ark. ConX from downtown. UB’s got five. Heads up on the money pass by Maxi. Great vision. And what a breakout fourth year for Tyrese Maxi. Named to his first Allstar game in 2024. When the Sixers traded away James Harden, it really opened up things for Maxi. Gave him the ball more, more responsibility. And you know what? He showed up. UB against Aiden out to the wing. Embiid’s got space and Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got his fifth rebound in this one. And they have been cold coming out of the break. Only getting one of their first four shots that drop this half. Got to pick it up. That’s tipped. Maxi with it. Phenomenal stats on a consistent basis. Puts up over 24 points a game. Pass to George. Late clock. The Sixers need to put one up here. Out to Ubé. Lets the three fly. And Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got six rebounds here tonight. Out of halftime. Not the way you want to execute. Just one of five from the field. To the paint. Here’s Aiden. Oh, misses the dunk. 76ers trail by five. Three-pointer and Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got his seventh rebound here tonight. Down low. Now here’s Maxi George outside. Tames with a steal. Shoots over Maxi. Superb transition play from LeBron. Now understand this. When LeBron James entered into the league in 2003, that’s when lots of players were actually taking mid-range. And great rebounding from your small forward can be such a difference maker. So, let’s see who in that position has run the boards over the last month. LeBron James is second. And these guys may not be the tallest or strongest players on the floor, but that hasn’t limited their ability to mix it up and dominate on the glass. One word you always hear used to describe these guys is active. They don’t leave it to just the bigs to do the rebounding. They get in there and do the dirty work themselves. George against James. Fires from deep. George’s shot is good. George has got 16 points and you see the creativity George has just comfortable operating in screener rolls and taking what he sees outside Reeves. Pass to James. Rebound by Philadelphia. Look, the defense was locked in on him there. They know how dangerous he can be and they guarded him perfectly and he was fouled in the act of shooting. Opportunity for a three-point play here in a tight game. They wanted to make sure of that possession. And guys, let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. Wow, they’re moving the ball around so well, guys. Quick passes, letting the next guy do the work if you don’t have a look. They’re also doing a good job working the ball inside tonight. The defense has been struggling to slow them down there in the paint. Here’s Reeves. James outside. Reeves with a screen on George. Back to Reeves. Pass. Greg. Philadelphia. George against James. Maxi on the wing. Five on the clock. [Applause] And again, it’s Philadelphia. Oh, what a crafty move. Causing the defender to pause right there. And we’ve got a timeout called by JJ Re. We might see him looking to make some tweaks to the strategy here. [Applause] And [Applause] Philadelphia 76 TN [Applause] [Applause] Reeves finds Aimura. There’s James on the wing and it goes out of bounds. Last touch by George and already halfway through the year. Let’s see how the West is stacking up. Taking a look at Los Angeles right now. They’re in ninth place. Definitely not the kind of success they envisioned at this point of the season. When I look at the Lakers, they’re really doing their best to rise through the rankings. Time will tell whether they can pull it off. And you have to wonder if this roster can get to that next level. They have talent, but if it doesn’t come together, they might have to shake it up. into the lane and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s on Ruie Aimura. Yeah, you never want to let shots at the rim go uncontested. Philadelphia shooting their seventh and eight free throw attempts of the game. Taking two shots. And the first one at the line is good. [Applause] That one falls. So he hits both of them. Lakers trail by three. Now Reeves to the middle. Here’s Aiden. Oh, he powers right through the defender for the dunk. Draws the foul, too. And he’ll go to the line. That’s on Joel Embiid. And a look at how the offensive approach has been going so far for the 76ers. The name of the game in the modern NBA is making threes, space in the court, and that’s exactly what they are doing tonight. And also, their mid-range game has been outstanding. They’re just finding holes in the defense and exploiting them. That’s good from Aiden. And I love the footwork Aton possesses. It’s what makes him so dangerous close to the rim. Chip by James. Embiid high post tries to break his ice. Strong finish by Embiid. A list of guys as strong as Joel in this league is very short. Los Angeles has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third. [Applause] Donic outside. [Applause] Count it. And one. He’ll have a chance at the three-point play. Joel. That’s on Joel Embiid. This will be his third trip to the free throw line. Second team foul shooting Philadelphia. Luca Donic at the line for one. One shot. [Applause] [Applause] The Sixers trailing outside. Maxi Embiid high post the 17-footer. Machimuro with a rebound. The Lakers have gotten five of 10 shots to go. Reeves. The pass to Aidton outside. Reeves. Machimura sets a screen. Clock at six. launches a three. The shot by Reeves. No good. Philadelphia has gone two for five from three since halftime. Pass to McCain. The three is up. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Hayden’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Now here’s Donic. Maxi covering and there’s just one foul now away from the penalty. That’s his first personal foul. Third team foul. Marcus Smarts checked in for the Lakers. Number 36, Marcus Smarts. Donic against Maxi takes the three. Donic delivers from range. Yeah, he’s in his bag from beyond the arc right now. You see his confidence and of course it helps space the floor which gives this offense more room to operate. Embiid high post the three. James with the rebound. James has got a rebound. Number eight here already in the game on the wing. Reeves. [Applause] Smart outside. Pass to James off target with the three. 76ers trail by four. Defended by Smart. Here’s Maxi. [Applause] To the wing on the left. Lets it go from deep. The Lakers with the rebound. Aiden’s got rebound number eight now. Here we go. One-on-one. Here’s Smart. The shots good on the assist by James. Now it’s a six-point Los Angeles lead. Great teamwork on that drive punctuated by a strong finish. Yeah, that’s nice execution. Running with purpose and creating an easy scoring opportunity off the break. as a big, unless you’re a dedicated rim runner, have to be some kind of threat from distance. Smart outside. Back to Donic. Misses the layup. Philadelphia shooting at 45% of the game so far. Here’s Embiid. Oh, look out to Albi with a power jam. Now, I understand he’s a large human, but the defense has to be better. You can’t let Embiid get whatever he wants inside. An MVP in this league, Richard Joel Embiid. Is there any way to slow this guy down? The answer, no, BA, there is no way to slow him down. He’s got the unique ability of size, skill, athleticism, you name it, he’s got horrible mistakes right there. You hate to see unforced turnovers like that. Hayes has checked in for the Lakers. Larabia comes in for LeBron [Applause] for Philadelphia. They’ve gotten seven of 16 shots to go so far in the third quarter. Pass to Maxi. Drummond with the screen for the lead. Maxi. That’s good. Maxi’s got five points now this quarter. This is what it’s been since halftime. Remarkable results from downtown. In the modern NBA, you have to hit threes to win games. And they’ve made that adjustment since the break. Livia hits a three-pointer. Livia’s got his third basket on the night right there. And that’s how you up the ante. Come right back at him. Yeah, I love the competitive fire right there. You drain a triple on us and I’m coming for my revenge. Drummond with the screen to the inside and it’s Labraia with a rebound for Los Angeles. They’ve gone 50% from the field in the third quarter. Eight of 16 pass to Hayes. Two minutes now. Reeves. It’s stolen by Maxi. Uses the glass on the layup. He’s got 15. This team wants Maxi to have the ball in his hands. He is a great decision maker that gets better every year. The Lakers trail outside. Reeves from the ark. Philadelphia grabs the miss. And this is exactly who you want taking that shot. He just missed it. He’s covered by Reeves. Pulls it over to the left wing for three. Shots blocked and he gets it back and another shot. Shot clock at six and he gets it to go. Hitting off the back of the rim. Grimes has got 13. Pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that just comes down to a lack of effort. The defender has to do a better job fighting through the screen. He’s covered by Reeves. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Hayes has got his sixth rebound on the night. Donic passes to Reed. Back to Donic from deep and Grimes pulls it down. The Sixers lead by three. About 7 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Edwards gets the bucket. Edwards has gotten his first basket of the night. I mean, they’ve been relentless. Just keep getting shots at the rim. 23 seconds left in the third quarter. [Applause] Smart looking around. [Applause] from behind the ark and Smart nails the triple for three. It’s still anybody’s game as we reach the end of three. Philadelphia on top up two. Don’t go away. We’ll be back moment and let’s take this opportunity to show you our State Farm assist of the game. Now, I know he’s a big man, but he’s got some point guard in him if he’s making passes like this. And for the defense, it’s so tough to guard a big man with that kind of court vision and dime dropping ability. It all comes down. And with three quarters behind us, we’ll start the fourth in what is still anybody’s ball game. And so in the game for the Lakers at the forward slot, it’s LeBron and Aimura. Connect is out there with Marcus Smart. And it’s Hayes in at the pivot spot manning the middle. Here’s Embiid. And Embiid throws it down. Got to give him credit for jumping on the ball and making the most at the other end. Boy, inexcusable at this point of the game. They got to be more composed in these moments. an important two points not just on the scoreboard but also for a little bit of momentum. And so it’s Smart who brings up the ball for the Los Angeles Lakers. Smart a screen on Gordon. The three James Edwards pulls it in. Philadelphia leading by four. Here’s the three. Grime shot is off. Here’s James. Aimura outside to the left side wing. Smart outside to the left wing. Out of bounds as Los Angeles keeps possession. He had the right idea. Just couldn’t come up with the swipe. And deflections. They’re a statue of teams track. They show who is the most active defensively. And the 76ers making a change here. Arlos checked in. And we played through about a minute here in the fourth. Shot clock at five. James passes to Smart and a miss there on the triple. Philadelphia shooting 46%. A decent average so far. Edwards. No good. Lakers trail by four. James with the ball. Picked up by Embiid. Pass to connect. This one for three. That falls. Nice feed that time from James. James has got his third assist of the night. Now here’s Embiid. [Applause] It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Hayes has got seven rebounds in the game. Here’s James. A chance there to take the lead, but a miss. Philadelphia has gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. That is a hard one. rebound. A man’s rebound right there. Way to battle for it inside. Here’s Aimura to take the lead. Can the layup is up and in. And the Lakers lead by one. Not to be denied. Hachimura has a great motor and competes with the best of them. outside Edwards. Pass to Embiid and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. That’s his second. The size and skills of Embiid. Look, it just makes him a tough cover. Sometimes you just got to foul the big foul. Philadelphia Joel M taking two shots. First free throw is good. The numbers Embiid has put up over his career speak for themselves. He’ll go down as one of the all-time great big men. [Applause] and Embiid drops them both. It’s always nice to see a big fell be able to knock down some free throws and make teams pay from the line. And so JJ Reick calls for the timeout. He was quite emphatic demanding the timeout. Clearly wanting to address strategy with his team. All right, let’s get a report from Ally. I was able to listen in on what JJ Reick was going over with his team. He was very passionately telling his team, “Don’t give them an inch when they have the ball. This game is going to come down to defense. I need you guys to work hard and close this one out, guys.” Appreciate the report, Ally. A touch under two and a half minutes of pass now here in the fourth. Aimura outside [Applause] James. There’s a screen on Edwards. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. That’s his first person. You’re a defender. You got to be careful when it comes to guarding Hachimura. He is clever at getting contact. Two shots. shooting two. [Applause] First free throw is good. [Applause] He’s off on the second. I know he’s kicking himself for not snatching the lead, but look, he tied things up outside. Edwards. Here’s Grimes. Check by James. Good. And the 76ers lead by two. With a tough road ahead, they worked hard to get a good shot. Around 3 minutes gone here in the fourth. James outside. Aimura outside. Back to James. pulls it from the top of the key and he sinks that one hitting the back of the rim on the way in. And this is just typical of him always making an impact at crucial moments in the game. And his team needs every bit of his production if they want to pull this one out. It is neck and neck here in the final period. Here’s McCain. Yes. And it’s MBI picking up the assist. And a great look provided by MB. The big man just dropping dimes. And James has got the ball here for the Los Angeles Lakers. Pass to Aimura inside. Here’s Smart. Here’s Connect James outside. Oh, he missed the chippy right there. That’s the shot they wanted. It just didn’t fall. Tough to watch those miss. I’m sure they’ll convert the next chance. Aimura. The pass to James. Himura left side. Oh, and makes it with the kiss. Well, Hanja Moore’s inside out scoring ability is what makes him so valuable to their offense. Here’s McCain defended by Smart. The 11footer and again it’s Philadelphia. Here’s James. [Applause] LeBron going downhill. He’s off on the layup. And with his team trying to trim this margin, his struggles this quarter, well, they’re not helping things. Here’s Grimes. And the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. It’s on LeBron James. Second team foul. at the line for Philadelphia. Quinton, two shots. and he knocks down the first one. And really strong at the line since the break and it’s a completely new group for the Lakers. [Applause] And good on the second. So he makes them both. Lakers trail by five. Pass to Labraia. Now here’s Aiden to the paint. It’s stolen by Maxi. Here’s Embiid. Nails the baby hook. Embiid’s got 19 points. Yeah, Embiid is getting everything he wants on the offensive side. He’s playing some aggressive basketball right now. For Los Angeles. They’ve gone four for 10 in the fourth. Dayton a screen on backy from deep. Here’s Donic. And once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Ubri against Clea. Embiid down low. Embiid puts it in. The D hasn’t been quick enough to react to the ball inside. That’s helped cause this run. Los Angeles has gone only one of four from the perimeter here in this fourth quarter. Clea outside [Applause] eight inside beats there. Just five on the clock on the wing. Reeves looking to win the run. And Aon with the layin. Assertive basketball. Aton getting after it on the offensive glass using his size to his advantage. Pass to Grimes. UB with it. The three rebound. The Lakers. Reeves has got rebound number eight now. Here’s the Ravia now. Donic. Maxi covering eight. The screen on Maxi from 13 and it’s Donic missing. He’s trying to force his way into a rhythm, but that’s not helping the team. Up again. Whoa. Joel Embiid with the follow. Keep riding that hand and he’s been pretty much unstoppable. Lakers trail by nine. Dodic passes to eight. Here’s the Rabia pass to Clea now Reeves. Here we go. The Sixers on the break by himself. Throw it down on the breakaway jam. Oh, just an artful little reverse slam. Power and style. That was sweet. And here’s Donic. He’ll bring it up for Los Angeles. [Applause] from 13. Here’s Clea and it goes straight through with a swished. Clea’s got his first points of the night. Gifted moving the ball. Luca is one of the best passers in the league outside. UB fires the three. Rebound by the Lakers. And they’re up right now. But it hasn’t been because of him. He’s really struggled on offense. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. And you can’t let Donic get this type of positioning because then you’re pretty much forced to foul him. Shooting for Luca Donic taking two shots. Shooting two. [Applause] And he drops a first. And the 76ers making a change here. George has checked in. Aimura’s checked in for Los Angeles. LeBron comes in for Labraia. [Applause] Off on that one. So he goes one out of two at the line. The Sixers lead by eight. George outside and here’s Ubé from the arc and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got doubledigit rebounds now in the game. And let’s be honest, they’re winning in spite of his atrocious shooting performance. Out of bounds, it’ll go to the Sixers. Philadelphia. [Applause] He’s covered by Reeves. Embiid from outside. Oh, look at the range. Joel is good for three. Lakers trail by 11. Donic outside. puts up a three. It’s hauled in by Ubé. You know what? He’s got to look to get other guys involved. The three-point stroke is off. [Music] He’s covered by Reeves. Pass to Maxi. It’s stolen by Donic. Aimura outside. Donic. Passes to James. Right side. Reeves. Back to James. Six on the shot clock. Aimura outside. Donic with it. Maxi covering beyond the arc. And there’s Donic. That’s good on the assist from Aimura. Aimura’s got his fourth assist with that last one. Philadelphia leading by eight minutes remaining in the game. And here’s Embiid, [Music] [Applause] tries the spin move with a 9-footer. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Hayden’s got 11 rebounds in the game. Reeds pass to Dodic. [Applause] Now here is James. Tight defense owner. 127 left in the game. And he lobbs it up and it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Maxi. Those are the turnovers that have coaches pulling their hair out. Why do you think I’m bald? [Applause] Lakers trail by eight. [Applause] James with the ball. [Applause] 110 left in the fourth quarter here. Jacks up a three. Rebound by Philadelphia. They’ve led by as many as 11. Pass to Embiid Maxi with it [Applause] and the shot counts. He’s fouled and it’s a chance for a three-point play. Defensive foul. Luca Donic. That’s his second personal foul. Third team foul at the line for your Sixers. Tyrie Maxi. One shot. So, it’s Los Angeles now. 11-point game. Outside Reeves. Here’s the three. Sinks the tray. Such a wizard with the ball. James always finds the open man. It’s stolen by James. Nice work inside from James. Is anyone Are we even surprised at this point? Like this is what he does. Like he just shows up clutch. Oh, it’s clutch time. All right, here you go. Out to the right wing. Aiden against Embiid. trains the triple and the 76ers lead by nine. And guys, that’s got to be the dagger. This is how you finish a game. And it felt like they just flipped the switch to go on that run and seal the game, saving their best basketball for the end. Always smart. So, it’s Philadelphia picking up the win. This one was a fun one to watch. They were clearly in the driver’s seat down the stretch. They really were, BA. They played with great intensity on both ends of the floor, and they didn’t allow their mistakes to get the better of them.
