Per baseball/sports reporter Francys Romero:

“The Philadelphia Phillies and the Toronto Blue Jays are two other teams that have been checking in on and showing interest in Ketel Marte, per sources.

At this point, a trade remains unlikely, but nothing can be ruled out.”

  1. Yeah, I mean, a team like the Phillies should be kicking the tires on just about everyone. Reach out, establish low-key interest, and if it gets well into the winter and options 1, 2, and 3 have fallen apart, maybe you swoop in for a touch less than it may have cost initially.

  2. He’s perfect fit for this lineup, especially with his .900 career OPS versus lefties. They could then look for platoon efficiencies at least one outfield spot to counter Marte’s salary. … The problem I can’t get around is how the teams match up. Everything I read says the Diamondbacks want young pitching. … So where’s the fit? It’s not going to be Painter. … Would Arizona be interested in Gage Wood?

  3. Yeah just what we need, another 32-33 year old that is just about to be on the downside of his career

  4. I think this guy is super underrated. Problem is, ARI doesn’t seem keen on moving him, and they’ll get a lot of offers.

  5. We’re in the recycle rumors and try to pass it off as insider information phase of the offseason
