Look I don’t have crazy expectations for this team but it’s an absolute embarrassment how they are CONSTANTLY unprepared coming out of halftime.
“Embiid sucks trade him”
*doesn’t look at game +/-*
Why Embiid doesn’t remember how to dribble a basketball ?
Biid moved quite a bit better tonight. Shot was NOT falling by any means, but that happens…
Not the worst loss. Even if Biid hits two of his misses, we win this game.
Bron is unreal, man. In his 40s and still able to torch any team on any given night if needed.
We don’t play again until Friday and during this time off Nick Nurse needs to figure out this 3rd quarter shit. It’s plagued us in almost every single game.
Joel makes the team better but the effort level of the team is just lower when he plays. We just don’t do as well in the hustle stats
Don’t really understand why VJ gets so many minutes when there is times the team needs a Barlow or a McCain even a Walker.
McCain not playing in the 3rd made 0 sense. Im convinced one of the coach just doesn’t believe in him and waits for him to make a mistake to ask for him to be subbed out. McCain not playing in the 4th makes sense because he’s not a clutch player but he could’ve seriously been of tremendous help during the 3rd quarter????
I’m ready for a McCain or Grimes trade to round this roster out better honestly.
Embiid +11 in a 5pt loss, I mean he must be doing something right.
His backup -15 in 17minutes, a tale as old as time….
Embiid’s splits are 40.7/21.9/84.9 with 27 assists and 21 turnovers. Career low in rebounds per 36. Just an awful on court product whenever he does play
That load manage bullshit won’t work if we rest him for a month when he gets some groove but I’m also pretty sure he’s gonna break immediately when we play him every game
Coaching malpractice tonight. McCain needs more minutes, the ball more in his hands and more plays designed for him. I love VJ, but him playing 25 more minutes makes little to no sense. Why is Embiid shooting so many threes? I can’t believe it’s him that just fires for the sake of it, he’s smarter than that, gotta be the coach who keeps drawing it up.
What good teams have we beat this season?
I feel like I’m going delusional. Is there something I’m missing? Is there a reason that Nurse or Embiid himself (or both?) can’t simply consciously realize that Joel posting up more would help? Are his knees and body so fragile he can’t do that anymore hence why he’s chucking up 3s and staying perimeter?
The face of someone who accepted being bald.

Something “LeGoat” could never do
The lack of McCain minutes is infuriating. I don’t know wtf Nurse is doing.
4-21
Also, I know they’re both technically rookies but edgecombe isn’t eating on McCain’s minute. They are literally utilized so differently. Idk why people are out here complaining about VJ’s minute when he was damn near putting a dogfight make sure we stayed in the game
Honestly really miffed by the loss, but it’s the Lakers. They’re really good this year.
Not a moral victory or anything, I want that verbiage done with, of course.
But there’s positives to be taken away here.
Need to find some consistency with how available both Jo and PG are. We’re much better than 13-10 makes us seem tbh.
The horrific statline aside, this was the best Joel has looked physically in a long time. Idk if it’s a sign that he’s progressing well and will improve as time goes on or if it will get worse suddenly, but it was definitely noticeable tonight
Are people watching a different Jared McCain? Like from last season or something? I don’t get why so many think he will completely change the game or anything.
Like other than making the occasional open C&S 3 he’s not really doing that much. And he’s the worst defender on the team that actually plays.
Embiid still has rust in his game and it’s December. 30 mins 16 and 7. He was +11 but would posit most of that was first half.
Constant rust is painful to watch and not sure it’s going to help this team be any better than .500
The efficiency 😢

Not mad about this one. Good game. No real weirdness
Great game but bummer we lost. Was surprised how little a factor PG was, looks like we had a really hard time getting him the ball. I really like Barlow but our offensive game really struggled with him on the floor in the third. He basically stood in the corner and the lakers were able to spread the rest of their defense on the rest of the court and basically left him open which took away any driving opportunities. Still excited about this team and thought they put up a good fight
We should’ve won tonight, again Nure’s coaching killed us. Our defense fell apart in the 2nd half and in a night when most of the team is shooting poorly you gotta give McCain more of a shot than 13 minutes.
And this game is the perfect example of the reason why people brought up that crazy secondary stats, plus minus stats are just misleading
Why does Paul George only have 8 field goal attempts in 32 minutes? PG doing cardio out there while Maxey and Embiid take 45 shots combined.. At least VJ looks solid, 15 points on good efficiency and a positive +/- along with McCain having a good night with his limited minutes
Stop giving grimes so many minutes when he isn’t doing shit, McCain was productive and hitting shots then we just pull him like what the fuck
I’m not discouraged. Our young stars will learn and win us that game later in the year. We know PG and Joel never have been crunch time guys, they are who they are. But Joel Embiid is going to be retired before he ever learns how to not get the ball knocked out of his hands when he goes up because he holds the ball so low. If he could ever have learned how to face up against defensive pressure without getting stripped his problems would be solved.
Last game for the GOAT in Philly? LePassing of time, man
Biggest takeaway from this game is that VJ and Maxey are our future. They are such an amazing backcourt, have great chemistry and play with extreme tenacity. I think they’re the only irreplaceable piece of this team.
Truthfully, we would’ve won this game if LeBron didn’t go super saiyan at the end. And that’s a good thing for our future. I’m very confident we can win many games in the future.
This team believes in Joel’s capacity more than they should. It isn’t just that he has 21FGA, it’s that everyone keeps passing the ball to him and hoping for the best. It’s time to realize that, unless he’s having a great night, it’s best to pass it to someone else.
McCain was very under-utilized this game. Just like Grimes, he’s our C&S guy and should be doing just that during the 3rd quarter. He is forgettable defensively but that doesn’t mean he should be on the court. Especially when we were ice cold during the 3rd.
Overall, can’t be too mad at the team. They did well
On a positive note, VJ&Maxey outscored Austin and Luka while technically playing less minutes!!!
Embiid 4/21 FG and 0/6 3P holy washed
That was some beautiful basketball tho. I enjoyed the game until the end. Despite the loss, It was incredible to see what LeBron could offer after all these years.
The most annoying part is how Maxey literally gets no whistle
Can we please fire Nick Nurse?
I think half of this postgame thread actually did not watch the game and exclusively looked at the box score.
Joel shot very poorly tonight. But if you watched the game, almost all of his shots were within the flow of the offense he just couldn’t hit anything. He’s *way* worse when he’s seeking out bullshit and actively disrupting the team. This year he’s put up much better box scores where he’s been a much bigger detriment to the team
I know people criticize talking about single game +/-, but him being +11 despite shooting so poorly tells me my eyes were right and he still made an impact out there
Good effort from the team tonight and good job taking care of the ball. Embiid shot us put of that game.
Embiid needs to learn to accept a different role on the team – playmaker, defender, rebounder, foul drawer. And if he wants to take a bunch of shots they need to be to go along with an effort to get the other team in foul trouble.
Which gambling company do we think sponsored that stupid ass drone footage?
This was what you expect out of LeBron, first 3 quarters he’s so-so, and then he goes off in the 4th, and especially down the stretch. The 76ers need to build chemistry, and you’re only going to do that by playing. We’ll see who’s available with the time off.
30 minutes to grimes, 13 to McCain…all I need to see
https://preview.redd.it/c3u44a7llw5g1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa0a4559f3082725e1676f3e1959a617b220c8fe
Will Embiid average over 20 pts this year? Is he really that much of a detriment to our offense because I’m just tryna see how our team looks let’s say in the playoffs. We’ve improved but we are lacking chemistry still and I think Nurse is not creative enough. Like when or what point is it appropriate to say what level Embiid is this January? Will he be averaging 18 or can he average 25 on good efficiency?
I wish Pisscast P would stop getting owned by Lebron, but then again it sums up his career vs him.
Embiid is no longer him… Move on. Live and die by Maxey..
When Oubre comes back, is he starting? Are we replacing Barlow with Oubre? Or will Oubre come off the bench?
this game confirms that Reaves has no business being in the same conversation as Maxey.
Tf is up with McCain? He should be getting more minutes than VJ
