Red Sox, Rays, Tigers Among The Teams To “Check In” On Ketel Marte

INTEREST KINGS!
Nah I’m just kidding. I hate this “interest kings” sentiment. It’s good the sox are pursuing basically every possible avenue to make our team better.
Marte would be a dream.
I think Marte/Alonso may be the best path. Should keep us under that second threshold and leaves a spot for Mayer
Give me Marte and Alonso and I’ll be extremely happy
I’d still much prefer Bregman. Marte is better than Bregman, but not by enough that I think the Red Sox should give up significant assets in trade when Bregman is just sitting there in free agency. And Marte is also 32, so it’s not exactly like age is a point in his favor over Bregman.
Glad the red sox are turning over every stone, but I don’t see the Sox and Diamondbacks aligning on value here.
“The Red Sox, Rays, and Tigers are among the teams to have checked in with the Diamondbacks regarding star second baseman Ketel Marte”
🙂
“according to a report from Bob Nightengale”
🙁
How many times are we gonna listen to Boob?
“Hey. Have you guys traded Marte yet? No? Ok cool I’ll follow up once the rest of the stuff happens. Merry Christmas!” -Bres checking in.
I always wondered what they mean when teams “Check In” on a player? Like they talk to their agent or do they dm them something like “sup?”
Been seeing a lot of comments around here over the last few days about Marte’s “inevitable decline” given his age. He’s a top 10 offensive player in the league, people. A little regression and you’re still getting an incredible bat.
Also makes me wonder if these people know how old Bregman is. The guy who will cost 2x.
I’m going be in the minority here but I don’t want them to make this trade, especially if it means moving Early or Tolle. I’d rather they use their chips to get another impact SP then sign one of the big bats (Bregman, Alonso, Bichette) + Okamoto
Do the right thing, Craig
Losing Corbin Burnes like they did ruined that Dbacks team. 6/210 turned into 4/210 real quick and I’m just glad I’m not a Dbacks fan.
A lot is going to depend on the health and continued progress of Mayer and Campbell.
