I grew up in Livonia. Now live in Dfw. Haven’t been back for a game since the Joe Louis.
My birthday is the 27th. Dallas plays in Detroit on the 23rd. I’m thinking about treating myself to an early bday present with a trip back to Detroit. Figured that would be a cool game to catch. I’ll have to sew together a Detroit and Dallas Modano jersey together 😆
Anyways I was looking for nearby hotel recommendations.
Thanks

I used the hotel indigo downtown last time I was there. Like a 10 minute Uber in traffic, but I just walked to the game.
Any of the downtown hotels are walkable to the arena. Do you want to spend Shinola money or Garden Inn money?
Don’t have a recommendation, but as a Westland native who spent several years in Texas, I’ve thought about a split stars/wings modano jersey as well!
Motor City Casino is about a 10 block walk to LCA.
The Atheneum Hotel has a free shuttle service that drops off and picks up across Woodward from LCA. Plus they are in the same complex with Fishbones, and just a block away from the Pegasus .
Harry’s is only a couple blocks from LCA, and is a good bar/grill. Alot of pre and post games drinks there.
Hockeytown Cafe is only a block south of LCA on Woodward, and is another good bar/grill.
I recommend both of them.
The Siren is one of my favorites. Not super expensive not super cheap – easy walk to Iggies Eggies for breakfast. Good fun crowd at bar chenin, in the back of the hotel, and nextdoor at paramitta sound is fun. That’s where my wife and I stay when we visit fam. Walkable to everything, historic building with French vibes. And I also grew in Ainovil 😆
Siren, Foundation and El Moore are my three favorites.
Everything in Downtown or Midtown are walkable if the weather is good, or a short Qline ride away if the weather isn’t as nice.
A good value is El Moore Lodge in Midtown. You can take the Qline from Canfield to Adelaide, then reverse to go back. The hotel is beautiful and has a free breakfast, and coffee and tea all day.
Motor City Casino also has a free shuttle service that drops off on woodward.
Not too expensive but not too cheap either worth the stay.
Element is where we stayed the last two times we went to a game. About a ten minute walk to the arena. Really nice staff and a decent pub attached to it
I love The Element. About an 8 minute walk. They have a nice rooftop bar and a restaurant inside the bar that has some of the nicest people.
Just stay at mgm. Have a ten minute walk, and everything else is also walkable or a crazy short uber
MGM Grand is a real easy walk.
Aloft at the David Whitney. Super sweet
There are a bunch of free shuttles from bars and casinos in the area. I always like to go to the Detroiter bar in bricktown before a game for a burger and drinks. Very affordable and they have a free shuttle that drops off at the rink.
The Godfrey is a nice hotel and is a decent walk or a short scooter ride. Very quick Uber as well.
