The Truth: Can They Still Make The Playoffs?

We kick this video off with an absolute snoozefest. Zero goal performance from the Flames. Not going to win any games in this league with that many. Even though one is better than zero, the Sens were going to need a lot more than that tonight if they wanted to compete with the Dallas Stars. Offensive explosion. The Sens didn’t stand a chance. They get dominated 6 to1. The Jets played the Sabres. And apparently the Jets were so bad this game, it forced the captain to start yelling at them all. I haven’t watched the game yet, so let’s watch it together and see if it was really that bad. Nikicov tries to reset this play and go back to the point. Benson reads that, dances past Dlo and forces Dlo into a holding penalty. Here we are on that power play. Thompson turns his back on the play. And when you do that on the power play, it’s a green light for the killers to pounce on you. The Jets do a good job of pouncing on him, but Ayafollo doesn’t clear the puck. And because he doesn’t clear the puck, the Jets are now screwed with two guys caught up high. The Savers get it low as quick as possible and they win the numbers battle in the crease. All of that stems from one bad play and a bad read in the offensive zone. A few very short minutes later, the Jets commit four guys in the offensive zone, but they don’t even have the puck. Now Timmons makes one pass and the Sabres have numbers. Quinn finds a wideopen Bow and Byron on the side and he buries again. A goal that definitely just shouldn’t have happened. and they’re down two nothing inside the first three minutes of the game. All right, here’s the next goal. It’s a simple breakout from Samuelson. One pass and they are at the red line. Puck goes low to high and Norris squeaks it through. You probably like a save there from your goalie. But it actually goes in off of the Dman in front. If that Dman isn’t laying in the crease and just ties up the guy back door, we probably avoid a goal here. But the main problem is the Jets neutral zone. It is wide open and it is leading to easy plays like this. That’s three nothing Sabres. Ah, that just can’t go in. But hang on a second. Why was he so alone in the corner there, guys? Come on. This is not a time for a line change. Remember when I said the Jets neutral zone is wide open right now? Yeah. Under no circumstances should this ever happen. Just too loose, too careless from the Winnipeg Jets and they make the Buffalo Sabres look elite. So yeah, it was that bad. All Canadian Atlantic clash. Habs trying to end their losing streak, but there’s Lionus Olar coming across on the Habs power play to take away a sure goal from Zack Boulder. They do find Twine on the power play, however. Cfield back door to Slavovski. That’s the Habs up by one and Zetterland unloads a bomb from the blue line and the sends respond immediately. So, it’s going to be that type of game. All right, strap in everybody. Well, that type of game for one team. And Captain Brady does a great job shaking his man, feeds Zub in front, undresses Montto in tight. Two to one sends. Jake Sanderson granted free access to the net by Noah Dobson. Takes it and tucks it. Monto’s a little lost there on that one, but I don’t blame him. ABS can’t seem to stop the bleeding. Nobody picks up Bathson in front. He’s got all the time and he scores. That’s four unanswered now. Cfield down low to Suzuki and he just rips it. He’s like, “Well, I guess nobody’s open.” And pulls the Thanos play. Could there be a potential comeback in store? Brady Kachchuck gets his first goal of the season thanks to some more terrible zone coverage from the Habs. Final score 5 to2 sends Leafs in Florida and Joseph Wall is already busy. They’re still reading the lineups, boys. Can we get some defense, please? And there’s the defense ripping the puck in the back of the net. Not what I meant, but they’ll take it. Stcher first as a Leaf. He’s been great as of late. Leaf’s third line was hot in Pittsburgh, and they’re even hotter here tonight in Florida. from McMahon to Joshua and he elevates in front. That’s a nice two nothing lead. The five forward power play unit for the Leafs bites them in the bottom, but the Leafs get it right back. Robertson gets body positioning on Gustav Forsling, gets it back to Lorent. He puts it on and Lton buries a loose puck in front. Great work from Nick Robertson to make Gustav Forsling look like a child there on the forche. The Leafs build on their last win. Watch out, they’re going streaking now. Flames fans, what do you want me to do? like only cover the wins, not cover Calgary at all. This is brutal. They lost 51 to the Preds. If you’re wondering what’s the relevance there, the PRs are the team above them at 31 in the standings as Calgary is at 32. The Canucks on their losing skid and it continues tonight. But hard to blame them as they lose to the Avalanche and they’re just on another level right now. If you absolutely hate goals in the NHL, this is the game for you. The Oilers lose one- nothing as the Great Wall of St. Paul stands tall. Esper Volstead, former Oilers draft pick, gets the shut out. Both teams desperately in need of a win. The Jets are the ones who strike first. Connor drags the Habs in, sends a beautiful pass behind his back and Shipley puts it in. And then Cfield finds Slowski in front on the power play and the game is all tied up. Back and forth we go. Valardi to Connor to the top of the net. That’s 2-1 Winnipeg. And then 2 minutes later, Demov in on the forche wins the battle in the corner, finds Kaepern in front and it is tied yet again. This game needed the shootout to decide a winner. So here we go. Paul Cfield comes in and scored and absolutely nobody else does. The Habs win a big one 3-2. Good news for the sends, they play the Rangers. Bad news for the sends, the Rangers are not the home team. sends never really get their offense going here. The Rangers take this one 4-2. The last time we talked the Leafs, I said, “Look out. They’re going streaking.” And apparently, I wasn’t joking. Very impressive game here from the Buds. They dominate the Canes all night long. The last place, Calgary Flames find their offense against the Minnesota Wild. Does it mean anything? Uh, probably not, but it is fun to see when they remember how to score. Speaking of remembering how to score, the Edmonton Oilers completely bury the Seattle Kraken in Edmonton here tonight. Picking it up at 3-2. That’s a nice little shorty breakaway for the kid. He buries. Then McDavid finds the hole on the power play. That’s his second of the night. More from the Oilers. Heyman goes in alone upstairs on the back hand. That’s a beauty. Six to two now. Then the Kraken make a pass to absolutely nobody. Mel Japan finds Yanmark in front. That is 72. Nooj misses the net. goalie doesn’t even try to recover and that’s a Hattie for Connor McDavid. And finally, Matty Savo gets his second of the night, cleaning up on the power play. Real solid get right game here for the Oilers. If they can build on this one, they may be all the way back. We all remember the last time these two played, right? Well, it’s time to see if the Jets can play better than that time. So far so good. Valardi to KFC to the back of the net. I see we still can’t clear the front of the net. Hey, guy could have set up a tent here. Embarrassing. The Jets do end up getting it together. They rebound from their awful performance last time. Big 4:1 win. The Canucks on the other hand, they lose 4 to one at the hands of the Utah Mammoth. They are snowballing. Saturday night hockey, the forever rivals facing off against each other. What better way to start the night? The Canadians get on the board first on the power play. Suzuki gets the puck through the seam to Demi Dove and he finds Caulfield alone back door. Not really the guy you should leave alone back door on your power play, boys, but that’s fine. We move on. More from the Havs. They win the puck back and send Bold in alone, but the beast in the crease says no. That’s an absolutely massive glove save from Dennis Hillby. More from them on the power play. The pass to the point is intercepted by Nick Wah. He finds Lton short-handed break and oh my goodness. You know, you look like a freaking if you miss the net here. But if you score, rockstar, absolute filth. Tie game here in to0. Leafs have an opportunity to get another one here, but Jakob Doish comes across and keeps it out with his head. Off to overtime we go. The Leafs have a threeonone golden opportunity, but they sail it 10 ft over the goal. So, we go into the shootout. First shooter, Willie Knander. Doz. Then Cfield comes in, goes across upstairs on Hillby. That’s a beauty. Speaking of beauty, Matthews slips it through Domez’s legs. We got a tide shootout here. And then Alex Texier does the classic French poke. That’s gorgeous. And that’s your game winner as Dobish denies Tavvar. Last time the Sense played the Blues, they lost. And so far here, it’s looking like that’s going to happen again. But hang on, there’s still time. Zetherland makes it two to one. And the Sense can still even this one up. They pull their goalie. They’re looking for the extra guy. The Blues shoot it down. And holy cow. Omar comes across out of nowhere. What an effort to keep that puck out. Unfortunately, it was for nothing as the sends lose two to one anyway. The Flames attempting to crawl out of the basement of the league with a massive two to nothing win here against the Utah Mammoth. It’s great that they are able to win only scoring two goals. But I mean, we got to recognize why that is. Big Dustin Wolf with a 27 save shut out on the night. The man was dialed all night long. Jets in Edmonton. Oilers are in their goalcoring jerseys and 3 minutes in the nude buries a juicy rebound one- nothing. 2 minutes after that Bard up ice dry settle on the breakaway silky finish. That’s two. Just after that shot provides a massive rebound from Matty Savois and that’s three nothing Edmonton inside the first 10 minutes here. Jets give the Oilers a power play and I mean you just can’t do that. McDavid to dry back to Bard for the bouch bomb. at four unanswered and make it five. This team just does not stop. Yeah, Mark finds Lazar all alone and he makes no mistake. Shley goes upstairs on Skinner. They get one back. Never mind. It’s offside. So, uh they don’t get one back. Just kidding. Yes, they do. Connor dances Bousard. Shley finds Valardi cross crease and it’s a beautifully executed passing play, but it cuts the deficit to four. It really doesn’t matter. The Oilers just prove too much to handle for the Jets here tonight. They overwhelm them six-2. A twoon one. Matt Sarillo centers Baldi scores. Ah, all right. Well, that’s not a great way to start the game if you’re a Canucks fan. But good news is they have tons of time. There you go. Tom Vlander beats fellow countryman Yasper Volstead for his first NHL goal and ties the game up for the Canucks this November. They score shoots. He scores. V out of his net. Doesn’t there he scores. Yeah, they just kept building from there. Very big and impressive win here from the Canucks, ending their four-game losing streak against a really good team. There you go, ladies and gents.
