The Mets are teaming up with New York Cares for their 19th Annual Coat Drive presented by your local Toyota dealers on Wednesday, December 10, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field. Free parking will be available in Lot G. Fans bringing a new or gently used winter coat will receive a voucher redeemable for two (2) tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2026. Fans will be limited to one (1) ticket voucher. Fans who donate will also receive an exclusive 20% discount at the team store. Some exclusions may apply. Please note that non-winter coats like windbreakers, jean jackets, raincoats or other light jackets will not be accepted. Fans will be limited to one (1) ticket voucher. Seems like Diaz and Pete (yet again) don’t have significant markets. Can’t say I’m surprised.
Will sammon of the athletic just said “the mets prefer short term deals compared to long term ones for starting pitchers” guys like valdez, suarez and imai are predicted to have 6-7 year deals most likely.
Stearns has to either trade for a top of the rotation arm or he has to suck it up and make the uncomfortable longer term deal for the proven guy. Its stuff like not having that inning eater at the top of the rotation you have a really good feeling will take stress of the rest of the guys was lacking big time.
