Kevin Stefanski Postgame Press Conference | Week 14 vs. Tennessee Titans
you know, very disappointed. You got to give credit to the Titans. They won the game, so they uh made more plays than we did in the end, but just disappointed to uh you know, some of the things that happened that game. Uh we just we we expect more from our run defense. Uh you know, the the take the giveaways there, you know, that’s not about who we are. We got to protect the ball. We had a punt blocked and obviously not getting either of the two-point plays really off is frustrating. So, that’s on all of us. We own it. Can’t hide from it. Uh, it’s it’s all of us. It’s offense, defense, special teams. It’s players, and coaches. We’ll own it. It’s frustrating. Um, but we uh we’ll move on together. That’s what we’ll do. Then I’ll take any questions. Uh, just I know Shadur had the the pretty bad interception, but just overall, what about the sort of moxy that he that he showed in bringing Yeah, he he fought, you know, throughout the game, which we knew he would. Uh, obviously with any young player, Mary Kay, there’s going to be ups and downs, and I thought there were some really, really, really good moments. Uh, he’ll keep learning from some of the plays that he wants back, but, uh, some really good moments. What was supposed to happen on that last two-point conversion? Yeah, not going to get into all the specifics, Jeff, but obviously did not, uh, go as we thought it would. Did you make that call or did Tommy? Yeah, I make every call. I make every call. Had a hot hand. Why would you take him off? Yeah, it’s again, it’s a two-point play. uh didn’t come through on our first two-point play. Got to the second two-point play, we didn’t come through, but that’s it’s on me. Was that was that was that play call yours at timeless? Every I’m responsible for all of it. Kevin, on the on the first one, just I guess what prompted wanting to go for it in that scenario? Yeah, it’s a scenario that we talk about a lot. That’s something that when you’re down 14, feel good about the the decision there. Didn’t didn’t come through. You mentioned the run defense. What did you see as being the biggest issues? Yeah, we just we have to look at it. It’s uh it’s that’s not what we’re built to do. Uh it’s not what we’re about. Um we’ll look at all of it. Again, it’s it’s things that we’ll make sure we point it out and and and fix it, but uh you know, give them credit, but that that’s uh something that we hang our hat on. Kevin, another another special teams blunder. How how do you keep believing in Bubba? Yeah, I’m not going to get into that type of stuff, Jeff. We have to play better. We have to coach better. Um but that’s just the bottom line. Uh Ethan, was it an Achilles? Yes. Do you know? Uh you know, you don’t know till you get the testing, but uh didn’t look good. Instead concussions. Yes. Just Kevin, is this the the kind of game where uh I mean, just how do you explain all of the mistakes just across the board from so many different phases of your game against a 1 and 11 football team? Yeah, I think you go into any game versus anybody, Mary Kay, you have to play your best. You have to uh execute in the time when it’s time to execute. It’s our job as coaches to put our guys in position. Uh and we came up short. Uh bottom line, is is the reason you didn’t use Shu on the two-point play was because you fumbled the first? No, no, no. How how soon did you know that you were going to go Wildcat for that two-point? Yeah. You know, pre during the week, you talk about two-point plays in total plays that you like in those moments. And obviously the first one we didn’t get off exactly how we wanted to. The second one didn’t get off how we wanted to. But but like as the drive was going down, did you already have in your mind that you were going to that specific play? Yes. There’s plenty of decision to not kick on that first one. Yeah. It’s uh something that we’ve done in the past. I know uh you see it around the league. the idea of being you get the two, you know what you’re doing at the f at the next one. Um, but something we’ve done before. I know you talked about jitter the rookies play up and down, but on that interception, is it is as simple as when a play goes on that long, throw it out of Yeah, but he’ll learn from that. These again, young players, you learn from every turn that’s out there, there’s some great stuff that you can coach off of. I thought some of his pocket movement was outstanding. Uh, some some really really good throws, especially late in the drive. I thought he was really good there. Um, but always going to learn from our mistakes. How important was it to get that one to Jerry? Obviously, especially after last week when obviously he was a little frustrated the way that things went. Yeah, obviously, you know, I thought it was a really good decision by Shador to get through his progression there, get to Jerry on that in cut. Felt good about that play uh really throughout the game. Round that play earlier, got it to Harold. second play, second time got it to Shador. Shador got it to Jerry. Did a really nice job moving in the pocket. Did Shador check into the the first touchdown pass to David? It looked like he made some kind of like call at the at the line of scrimmage. No. Yeah. Kevin, how difficult is it looked like you were trying to kick away from DK all day touchback? Um, is that tough when that’s not your style, but it’s kind of gotten to the point where Yeah, I think every game you go into it, Scott, with what do we need to do to try to win this game and what what are the decisions you have to make uh in order to do that? Can you Oh, just um give them credit, I guess, for the game plan of keeping Miles from getting that sack record and doing a nice job with Yeah, I think obviously I give all the credit to Tennessee for for that win. They they deserved it. Um, every team goes into the the playing us with a game plan for miles. Um, that that’s no different. Thank you. Okay. Thanks, guys.

Horrible coach
How do we get him fired? Start a petition? He wasn't trying to win that match. Maybe he's secretly involved in gambling. Either way he has to GO.
Browns fans… We have to do something. This can't go on. That was absolutely insane. Maybe everyone should boycott the Browns games until he's gone from the team. We may have to hit the pockets until we get the chance we need
Fire him Immediately
YOU NEED TO GO!!!!!!!!!
this isn’t the first time the Browns have had some funny bunny shit going on😒 he needs to be fired and this shit needs to be looked into
What a joke
Might be the dumbest coach in the league
Kevin stefanski is the donald trump of the nfl.
Sorry.
You guys need to fire this man.
He needs to fired and investigated for throwing games . He is outrageous !
Fire him immediately/ if he still has a job by 5:00 today then they’re purposely trying to tank and lose games. There’s no reason to run 2 2-pt plays. For what? If they’d gone for the extra point on both they’d have been tied and potentially could’ve won the game.
He looks very uncomfortable up there
Say it with your chest stefanski why you stuttering cause you know you sabotaging sanders on purpose
Jimmy Halasm is a zombie owner and is in post death like Jim Irsay. Beyond brain dead Haslam is!
The sorry ass Cleveland browns have the audacity to sabotage a QB and their franchise been poverty for decades 😂😂😂😂
This guy will go down as the NICO HARRISON OF THE NFL
Just hire Deion sanders
No you lost the game
This idiot, puppet whatever you want to call him, he needs to be fired. Its very obvious, he doesn't want Sanders to succeed. Downplays any successes Sander has. Sanders is clearly a 1st round quarterback, very intentional he was dropped to the 5th round, but remember, the cream always rises to the top!
Kevin is the biggest idiot in football! Gosh Dangit, jimmy! Fire this bum
Mike pettine 2.0 tryna sabotage sanders like Mike did Johnny !!! fr
3:05 YES YES YES YOU FREAKING LIAR!!!
The shit press asked him softball questions.. they need to ask him why he made such stupid bad decisions.
It's all your fault you don't like Sheduer Sanders you're jealous smh.
Kevin, you're arrogant you wanted to lose and make everybody else look bad who wants to win.
Gettt ouuttta heree man get out of here 🔥 him asap
Not even a Browns fan but its not on everyone. You took the ball out of your QBs hands in a game where he was balling out.
He's a hater. No reason to take Shedeur sanders out. His explanation is so suspect. Smh needs to be fired immediately.
