Can you imagine how amped up he is to go? He’s 
been waiting months to play this first game. We’ll have to wait a few moments because the start 
with David Comp between the former Redmond gets a return pass. Goes in front. Went right under 
the stick of Brock Kessle. Now Hughes long shot tipped by Bessel right pad save. Gibson that was 
Sandy Pel sends it deep into the Vancouver zone. Moves in after his own dumping. Here’s Patrick 
Kane who had the winning goal late against the Kraken on Saturday night. Shot towards the 
goal deflected. Stopped by Lankan. 2015 16 the last time they made the postseason. David 
Kent around for Connor Garland. Centers Besser. Nice save there by Gibson. That’s just got one 
goal in his last 11 games. Yet it seems game after game he’s starting to get chance after 
chance. I love this because he took the pass from Garland and there was no hesitation. This he 
hits it. Evander King’s pass blocked. He gets the puck again. Throws it in front. There’s a chance 
and Rocha went between the legs trying to put it on the forehand but you know there’s no chance 
it’s going in and he tried to flip it up maybe get a lucky bounce. There’s a save by Gibson off 
Lenus Carlson right off the face off but Tyler Myers back for the punt just past the fiveminute 
mark. First period Steve Baines moves it. Baines to the middlelander shoots. Stopped by Gibson 
the ratu roll off the skate but yeah I know it’s a moot point now. It it is, but that was 
not distinct to me. A shot by De Brusk stopped by John Gibson. It’s kind of you’re looking at a 
season that’s in the 30point range. And you know, now you’re starting to talk about Ratu in 
a different light. There’s a shot by OK. Garland with Cone. Dumps one across to 
Ross. Gloves it down. He shoots off the glove of Gibson and just wide of the 
goal. What a great play. Quick hands. Kuck’s latest best chance is Jake De Brusk taking 
this deflected pass with his hand and throwing it down. He makes one little move and he wants 
that’s almost the shootout move. Patrick Kane gets the puck de blocked that hit. Hughes in the 
back I think. And here’s Hodlander rink wide for O’ Conor into the middle. Tyler Myers wrist shot 
stopped by Gibson. Rebound cleared to I can’t take that as a loss. I just I refuse to take it up with 
Curtis. I will. Here’s Ras Mus on the left point. comp the puck. Oh, came to the side and they 
tuck it in. James Van Remstead with quick hands in tight. His first bid didn’t go, but he tucked 
it in on the back end and it’s one- nothing Red Wings. N draft. Patrick Kane was the was the

got really good hands. The one-handed pass to Van Reamike. The first one stopped and he sticks with

deep into the Red Wing zone. Sherwood moves into battle for the puck with Sherro. De Brusk gets 
it. Sweeps it back to Connor Garland. Here’s Hughes. Slap pass tipped by De Brusk and a 
nice save by Gibson. Wings able to play the puck onto the stick of De Brinkin. He’ll turn 
deep in his own zone. Pass across to Mo Cider. And in the middle, Patrick Kane. Kane with a 
wrist shot. Nice right pad save by Lankin. It down one here as we start period number two. 
Little set play off the draw and Garland moves in on the left wing. Wrist one towards the goal. 
Blocked away by Gibson as he did on that first power play. He hands off the puck. And here’s 
Drosco with a step on the left wing. Jake Cross shoots off the underside of the crossbar. Oh, you 
can’t get any closer than that. Just staring at that stick like what’s the issue here? That beats 
Gibson clean. Underside of the bar as you called Shorty. And it bounces. Pass down to Bessel. Quinn 
Hughes in the blue line. Here’s Garland. Top of the circle. Puts one in front and go to Brooks. 
Oh, what a save by Gibson. Pass the other post. This is the redirection from Sherwood. Look at De 
Brusk’s got all kinds of One off the underside of the bar, that one off the pad of Gibson. Now he’s 
got it again. Slides it towards the goal. He’s going to get one tonight. Hugh shoots. Blocker 
saved by Gibson. You just don’t get that close that often and eventually you get rewarded. Wing 
short-handed. Larkin moves in. Weak shot stopped by Lankin. Drops off. De Brink making moves. 
stopped by Lankin and as he whipped one on goal and Kevin Lankin unable to slide out and grab 
the puck for a whistle. That’s a good save for Lank and Furlatch number 27 is an official was 
Rasmusian who couldn’t believe he didn’t draw a penalty. Now the puck jackhanded towards the 
Vancouver go by Van Reyn still with the puck now. Ratu just lit it wide and Gibson calmly pokes it 
to the side. Ratu at the blue line tries to draw tipped by Sherwood and stopped by Gibson. Good 
job by Camp to stay on side as Besser moved in. Besser long wrist shot attempt on the stick and 
Meyer centers the puck. Backhander and that was stopped by Gibson as Garland with his back to the 
net. Drew O’ Conor couldn’t get it past the Brink at center. Here come the wings and a good job by 
Heronic to lift the stick of Kane as he was about to send Cop in. Now Kane gets the puck again. 
Here’s the Brink to the side. Center tipped in by Cop. What a pass there as the puck was thrown 
in front by Axel Sandine Pelican and Cop had just a tap in to make it two nothing. It’s just three 
on the year. But a misplay in the middle of the ice as Okconor loses the puck. Herona can’t clear 
it and Kane’s done this forever. Look at him stop. Basically when he stops, everybody else stops. He 
finds to bring it to Sandine Pelica and Andrew Cop who started the play in the middle of the ice 
is wide open in front of the net and there’s no chance for Kevin Lanken and the Wings a two 
nothing lead here despite being outshot 17- 10. They have the puck in the bank for something turning in the corner leaves there on 
the blue line. Long shot tipped in. from right on top of the crease. Nate Danielson 
able to deflect it past Lanken and the Wings score two goals in under a minute to take a 
three nothing lead. The Conucks have had all kinds of chances that have had deflected 
pucks that have been stopped by Gibson or just missed the net. This time Danielson their 
first rounder called up in November scores his second NHL goal. His long point shot is tipped 
and goes right through Lanken and quickly. Here’s Myers now across and Gibson sliding to 
his right stops Brock Besser. Besser checks in but here comes EMTT Finny to Marco Casper with 
shot stick save len and he’ll take the whistle with and here’s David Camping. Puck slid off 
his stick as he tried to get a shot on goal. And in the end they named a middle school after 
long shot by Heronic. Blocked away by Gibson. Canucks come up with a puck. Hughes turning the 
blue line on Van Re Hughes. We’re shot stopped by Gibson. Big rebound up the gut. Van Reikkes 
there to clear it out to center. Garland gloves the puck down. Puts it to the middle. Comes all 
the way across. Can’t. Dozen seconds to go in the period. shoots and getting a piece of that and 
turning it over the glass again was John Gibson. No, that breakaway stop was pretty timely. 
Marcus Patterson left point slap shot stick save rebound chipped wide. Both Evander 
Kane and Drew O’ Conor were in front. Here’s Okconor centering Sherwood to the net. 
Stopped by Gibson who’s able to cover the puck. Tyler Meyers double clutch that one. Lost the 
handle. Kane in with a shot stopped by Topppino on his first test of the game as long shot 
knocked down by the glove of Gibson as Elias Patterson testing him from well out. Now another 
shot by Drew O’ Conor and Gibson got the stick on that. Finish my thought in a moment as Rasmusen 
brings the puck in. Michael Rasmus cuts across with a shot knocked away by Toapilo. Bernard 
Docker sends the puck around. Hoglander good read there to intercept but now he’s checked after 
Kane couldn’t move the puck out. Cops lost his stick as Ratu lets go with a shot. The blocker 
saved by Gibson. Jake De Tyler Myers. De Bras to the right point down to Hogland centers the puck. 
De Brass couldn’t get a good shot of it. Now it’s loose in the crease. Still loose. Cleared towards 
Patterson. He shoots and that was blocked down for Ke for Sherwood. Works his way up the near board. 
Sherwood across Belander with a shot club. Oh, quick whistle. Played offside here, but doesn’t 
matter as Hughes makes a nice pass to be in the middle. Cissoon shoots and again Gibson stayed 
with him. He’s going to take one step to his left. What he does when he takes this step to 
his left is he takes himself out of the scoring area. He lost 10 ft going to his left if he stays 
more in the middle of the ice. Catch stood up, but he got the better of that one with Bernard 
Dockers. Back hand of the puck in. Jake de Bruss behind the net for Neils Hoglander. Centers 
Ro. Robbed by Gibson. Moider knocks that away. There’s the Gibson stop that off the Holander 
pass. Gibson Connor Garland makes a nice move to get around Lucas Raymond. Besser takes 
his pass. Spins inside the line cross to camp. Relays Peronic to the net and that hit the 
mask or the shoulder of Gibson. Coming around the outside. Here’s the room. Heronic’s got room out 
there. Oh, he hits him right on the goes across. Meyers round the net trying to wrap around and 
Gibson got across with the right path. Here’s Evander Kane shooting stick save. Rebound O’ Conor 
stop. Loose puck. Sherwood crashed the crease. Garland stick hand in lost the puck in his 
skates. Here’s Larkin with an empty net till Lin scores. Four and a half to go. Dylan Larkin 
from center ice makes it four nothing Detroit. 16th of the year for Dylan Larkin. Garland gets a little tied up here. He’s now he’s 
in trouble. The puck’s in his feet and Larkin will take the little drop pass from Lucas Raymond. And 
that was Sherwood I believe. I mean they all went to Sherwood. I was looking out in the corner here. 
Didn’t see it. I didn’t see it either. And there’s a stop by Nikita Toapilo who robbed Mo Cider in 
tight line. Here’s Max Sone out of the penalty box. He puts one in front. Meyers kicks it up 
to a stick, tries a shot, blocked, loose, and that’ll do it. John Gibson, who started his career 
with a shut out in this building back in 2014.
