Seattle Mariners Winter Meetings Update: No More Polo?

Adam Jude and Ryan Dish of the Seattle Times both just kind of published articles in the last hour and it’s all about the winter meetings which are currently ongoing and the Mariners rumblings down there and obviously we know Jose Ferrer was acquired over the weekend for Harry Ford and Jerry Deoto is not speaking very lightly about this. We feel like we got the number one trade target on our list. That is a high praise for someone that a lot of the fans are questioning whether or not this is the right move to be trading Harry Ford for. Again, take the words out of his mouth. If it doesn’t pan out, awesome. You know, that’s another L for Jerry Dotto. Jerry Doozo. He’s trusting so much in JoseĆ© Ferrer. It’s crazy. The larger news at hand is Jorge Palano and his agent. Um, they want three years at least, preferably four with an AAV of more than 12 million. And Colton did not mince words. Goodbye Polo. Hello, Brendan Donovan. Which is a good thing for Colton because Colton loves Brendon Donovan. And continuing on that subject, Apoto talks about how much they want a reunion with Polo in this article from Divish and how everything that Polo does is the exact right fit for the Mariners and that he can’t tell you whether or not they’ll wind up being the team that reels him in, but we have to spread a wider net than that because he knows that they’re not the only ones talking to Polo and there are a couple other options in here like Castro and Ranifo. The news about Polo and how much he wants is a little disheartening for how much I think we as fans wanted Polo back. While I’m not completely ready to write it off, I will say I’m not going to hold on to hope that Polo is in a marriage uniform again in 2026.
