Ruff inadvertently taking another shot at management. He’s right though, what are we even doing here.

  1. Keeping 3 goalies for this long is just insane to me. Pick 2. Make a decision. It’s your fucking job.

  2. Ruff could have played him more than 12min a game if he liked him that much. But yes I agree sending him down is the only negative.

  3. If only there was a roster move that could be made where we could keep Ostlund AND a 7th dman.

  4. I admittedly don’t follow the team as closely as I used to and I’ve only been catching bits and pieces of what’s going on with this situation. Did they lose this guy? It’s been pretty depressing seeing so many players leave here and go succeed elsewhere.

  5. Kevyn Adams grinds his left thumb while sucking on his right thumb while Terry Pegula pees on him.

  6. I don’t really understand the GM making moves like this without the HC sign off. Just bizarre.

  7. This is the kind of quote you see in July when The Athletic publishes their annual “What’s up with the smoking crater in Buffalo?” article.

Honestly though, this three goalie thing is a nightmare. It’s another self-inflicted disaster which demonstrates that Adams lacks basic pattern recognition ability. Not an exaggeration, not a cruel dig, I find myself legitimately wondering if he’s suffering from CTE or another profound cognitive disability.

They’ve been running three goalies since Anderson and the results have been miserable. They went into the year with two guys, and then at the very first opportunity, the very FIRST, he signs a guy off waivers to get back to three goalies.

It’s evidence of diminished capacity. Whether that’s from Pegula or Adams, take your pick, but the decision making process is legally impaired over at Key Bank Center.

  8. Ruff needs to get back to snarky Ruff. I dont agree with others that the game has passed him by and I’d like to see him get to 1000 wins but barring that whats he got to lose at this point?

  9. This is why I don’t blame Lindy at all. Dude has no real power and doesn’t have his own staff in place, he has done admirably with making the boys play respectable hockey with what he has to work with and I believe that with his own guys and system in place this would be a playoff team.

  10. Ruff may of thought that, but he definitely had a say. If he told Adams he wanted to keep him up, I guarantee he would be here still.

The goalie shit though needs to happen. Lyon or UPL need to go imo. So stupid

  11. Love Lindy calling out the front office. Go down on your own terms if you do. Don’t let this joke of a front office ruin your reputation.

  12. Waive Josh Dunne for the love of god. Nobody would claim him and if they did who cares. Less than replacement level player

  13. Yeah, Adams hates making tough decisions and typically doesn’t unless his hand is forced.

  14. Makes sense. “This Ruth guy is hitting a ton, but we need to hang onto our three Bill Bergen-hitting catchers.”

  15. But guys, with three goalies we can play one every period so they don’t get tired out. It’s like rotating defensive linemen, I think this could revolutionize the sport of hockey

  16. What i meant is they had three goalies they were moving around three goalies who had the potential to be solid NHL starters and carry them in the playoffs. Noronen didn’t end up doing much after he left. Compared to now with their current shit crop of goalies who will never get them to the playoffs.

  17. STFU Ruff! Get back to squelching our offensively minded players. Lindy Ruff, the NHL’s greatest loser.

  18. I want to point out that this same stuff happened to Quinn, Peterka, UPL, and I think even Krebs. The Sabres have a history of playing games with their waivers exempt players.

I’m glad that Ruff is actually voicing concern over this, as it might be his only chance to have some lasting impact on this organization. It’s too bad that Donny “youth developing god” Meatballs didn’t make a similar stance when he was here.

Just to let people know. Ostlund went from earning about $4.5k a day, to $450 a day. That sucks on any level, but when you’re doing everything right, it makes things even worse.

  19. This is the third one right? the other night he said “this team needs a shakeup” before he paused and realized what he said and added “to the lines”
