Ravens Spoke to NFL About Critical Calls in Steelers Loss | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive

[Music] The Ravens dropped a tough game on Sunday to the Pittsburgh Steelers which moves them to six and seven on the season. Now, there were some key moments in this game that came down to officiating decisions and let’s go through them. Biggest one, of course, was that Isaiah likely touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Initially, it was ruled a touchdown, but then reviewed and that touchdown was taken off the board in exchange for an incomplete pass. Also earlier in the game in the second half, there was a play that Teddy Buchanan came up with an interception where he kind of wrestled the ball away from Aaron Rogers. That was changed to a catch by Rogers taking the interception off the board. And then another moment happened in the first half where Travis Jones was flagged for unnecessary roughness on a field goal attempt. Gave the Steelers a fresh set of downs which they then turned into seven points. Exchanged the field goal for the touchdown. So, those were three key moments in this game that all went against the Ravens. Well, today the Ravens initiated a call with the NFL to discuss those officiating decisions. And here’s what head coach John Harbaugh had to say about that today. It’s a conversation. We I had a conversation with the league office and they were they were gracious enough to to spend a lot of time on the phone with with myself and Eric and and Tony Mahalik and and we appreciate that. Um, it didn’t clear anything up. It didn’t make it any easier to understand in either one of the two calls. Uh they they’re very uh very hard to understand how they get overturned, but they did. And uh that’s where it stands. And the Travis Jones call, they told me and they told me I was I had permission to to to state this that uh it was a wrong call. It should not have been called. I will say this, Perry Fuel, Walt Coleman are great. You know, those are the two guys that that interact with the coaches directly. You don’t get to interact with anybody else. whoever else whoever else there is back there behind the scenes. But those two guys are the guys that relate to the coaches. And anytime I’ve ever called those guys, I mean, I’ve known those guys for over 20 close to 28 years, both those guys. And they uh they’re they’re excellent and and they’re honest and sometimes it’s tough on them to explain it. So, it’s a tough break for the Ravens. They now find themselves looking up at the Steelers in the AFC North race. But with that said, the Ravens still have the opportunity to go out and win the division. They have their sight set on winning each of their last four games, but that has to start on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Thanks so much for watching. We’ll see you again tomorrow. While the NFL admitted that one call was wrong, Head Coach John Harbaugh did not get clarity on what constitutes a catch.

  6. I am not opposed to seeing them lose out the rest of the year; only way to really get some definitive changes in order with this organization.

  11. Setting sights is 1 thing. Getting it done has proven to be the problem and the downfall. No QB pressure and an MVP QB who is obviously hurt more than is being let on make the next 4 games like climbing Mt Everest.

  14. Ambiguous rules lead to ambiguous calls. Will the NFL ever learn that? Karma says that a SB will be decided someday by a boneheaded call like they made on Likely's catch.

  15. Talk to themselves about why they aren’t using LJs legs? ONE designed run? It’s been this all year and we wonder why the team is 6-7. Stop letting him drop back like a lame duck and get him outside the pocket with the line issues. Play calling is chess and we’ve been playing checkers all season.

  26. We would have won if it wasn't for the refs!! The refs have no clue as to what their doing they are like the commercial where all the refs get together and say gee I dont know yeah just say that! Because they don't know the rules of the game and!! They hate the Ravensss ugh
