[Charania] The Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are expected to be suitors for Anthony Davis, league sources told ESPN. The Mavericks are also open to exploring the trade markets for Davis, center Daniel Gafford and guards Klay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell, sources said.
Miami should definitely try and look to add Daniel Gafford

No they shouldn’t. Gafford is injury prone and makes money beyond 2027
Don’t trade any more picks for any player that isn’t top 15. This team isn’t incremental upgrades away from a championship
Gafford would roll his ankle walking off the plane for us
He can’t be traded I believe, but PJ is the guy from the Mavs I like the most fit and price wise
Healthy Gafford would be a big help, but healthy Gafford is a pipe dream.
I don’t think the numbers match up enough, but would it be worth taking a flyer on Klay for Terry’s expiring deal? Maybe Klay and a second round pick for Terry. His contact isn’t great, but he only has this year and next under contract I believe at around 17 million.
I don’t know… Gafford is too good for us. We already have Bam and Ware, we need a 3rd string cheap center.

I’ve said this in a different thread, the Heat don’t need a Gafford type with how Spo is utilizing Bam and Kelel atm. (and I like Gafford as a player) A buyout/free agent is all they need for insurance at the 5, still baffles me why they released Precious so early before his non-guarantee deadline.
Klay could be a nice cheap piece to help out but also mentor some of our guys on winning. I don’t like Gafford in our current offense, I’d rather have Claxton or someone like that for rebounding.
