Uh Bengals Dolphins are out and Patriots Ravens are in. Now, this is important because week 16 is not week 15, right? And the Vikings and the Cowboys getting it on, right? So, uh, this time of year, the NFL does have six days to flex a Sunday Night Football game. So, Monday came and went. Uh, they flex week 16, um, way earlier than they need to, but they knew. They knew. So, Cowboys, Vikings, Sunday Night Football, waiting all day for Sunday night. Bring it on, man. And this will be the last last chance for Harrison Smith. Prime time football. Although the Lions game is going to be standalone. Yeah. Uh, but Harrison Smith shown up and shown out. Also, JJ McCarthy proving all the haters and losers wrong on NBC. Basic ass cable. I love it, man. Actually, all of her games are basic cable except for Christmas. Good luck uh trying to figure out Netflix uh at your grandparents house. So, we’ll see. Uh so, absolutely great news for the Vikings. There we go. There we go. Because all the history is there. Cheating Nash. Drew Pearson also Harrison Smith has been been playing so long. That That’s him on the 1975 team. Uh, no, I’m just kidding. Paul Krauss should be HOF as well. Actually is HOF. Uh, also he has the unbreakable record. No one will have more than 81 career interceptions because quarterbacks just don’t throw that many interceptions anymore unless you’re nine. Uh, also the Hershel Walker trade. So, I hate to admit this, but I’ve been listen relisting to the Jeff Pearlman Cowboys book and walking through the the trade. Basically, Mike Lynn was GM of the Vikings at the time. Didn’t consult ownership, didn’t consult head coach Jerry Burns, didn’t consult the OC. Uh probably because everybody boot the poop out of him, but he works his ass off. Uh so, no one was consulted. And remember, Jerry Burns ran basically a version of the West Coast offense. Like he he should he deserves more credit for being one of the innovators of the West Coast offense. I know Bill Walsh has all that, but his offense is predicated on a outside zone type runner as well as a running back who catches the ball. Hershel Walker, physical freak, but as said in the book, Hershel Walker couldn’t even dribble a basketball. Like his eyehand coordination was that poor. So him catching the bowel out of the backfield and also part and parcel is that part of the trade was a lot of veterans but the veterans if they weren’t on the roster come February after the season they would switch to a draft pick. So the trade was actually for a fistful of veterans Darren Nelson Jesse Solomon etc. But then Jimmy Johnson’s like give me all the picks. We should probably go through that trade. Yeah. just cuz we don’t hurt enough. Why? Why not? Also, the Randy Moss Thanksgiving Day uh awesome game as a rookie. And there was a clip that’s been going around where it was a high low read for uh for for JJ McCarthy and Justin Jefferson was on the quick out as well as uh Jordan was on the post or on the corner uh or flag and JJ McCarthy made the right read and the coverage was slinking down on Jefferson. So he threw it to Edison and the clip of Jefferson clapping on JJ McCarthy for you made the right read. Awesome job. As opposed to some wide receivers would be like give me the damn football. So again, he’s not sweating about his stats. He’s just trying to get JJ McCarthy revved up and ready to go. And again, McCarthy and could finally be Justin Jefferson’s final quarterback, which would be kind of nice, but it is going to take time. He is 22, only seven starts in. But the fact that Jefferson would have every right to be, you know, complaining about the season, the passing game, stats, everything. The fact that he has not done that, he’s been nothing but supportive of JJ McCarthy, Kevin McConnell, and this offense and this team should go a long way. He should be a Viking for life. Absolutely, man. Also, playoffs. Playoffs. Don’t talk about playoffs. So, the Vikings have a less than 1% chance, but it is still a chance to get in the dance, right? Uh, so we Yeah, yesterday we did a simulation. Basically, the Vikings have to win out. Uh, Packers need to lose a couple games. Bears need to lose out. Uh, also getting some help from well, either Carolina or Tampa Bay runs away with the NFC South. It’s what it is. And, you know, of course, the Cowboys lose out as well. So, there is hope. Got got a chance. Not a good chance, but we got a chance, man. And just control what you can control. Bottom line, it comes down to the Vikings winning out. If they do that, you’ll have a shot. Vikings Insider, all fun and games until JJ McCarthy leads the Vikings on five on a fivegame winning streak and to end the season, sneaks into the playoffs and knocks off the number two seed in the first round, which should be glorious. Go into Philly, put the bang thing on 38-7. It’d be good, man. Just glorious. I love it. also for persuasion. Uh Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy versus the Commanders. Two big time throws 8% uh zero turnover worthy plays, three French hens, two adjusted completion percent, 77.3%. Did have a couple drops in there from Addison. Uh overall, he did complete 69% nice of his passes. Also 8 out 7.5. So yeah, not the usual 10 plus for uh for uh for Kevin Oonnell quarterbacks, but also was wasn’t like he’s just Charlie checked down bonix all up in here. So McCarthy again, you could say, well, the commies are a bad defense. Yeah, the Vikings made them bad. Also, head coach Kevin Okonnell uh told the media jackals that the Vikings came out relatively unscathed uh from the game uh on Sunday, which I mean is good. Uh, find a game this year where the Vikings have come out healthy. Kind of far in between. Vikings fan page. Vikings head coach Kevin McConnell says Donovan Jackson is for real is playing through an injury that might hold out for a couple weeks, two to three weeks maybe. He would not be denied playing in the football game doing everything he possibly could. Uh, so Jackson playing through another tough injury. Remember he played that Bengals game with a messed up wrist. He had 33 pass blocking reps. Uh, zero goose egg Russell pressures. Diamond Jackson’s a good one, man. And this Vikings offensive line when they’re fully constituted and Ryan Kelly’s out there communicating, everyone out there, Darasaw O’Neal, it’s beautiful, man. And there there’s so many things that this team can do. They can run the ball, especially playing heavy personnel. Kevin McConnell adjusting the scheme, uh, as well as protecting JJ McCarthy. And you can see what he can do. All right. And this is the offense that was promised to us. So, I Yeah, again, playoff chances are extremely slim, but I just want to see what they can do. You know, just give us a wild card game one time. I guarantee you this will be a team that no one wants to see. An offense that can suddenly put up points after two games of inertness. A defense that can get after the quarterback’s ass and they can run the ball. That’s what you need in the playoffs, man. Uh, so I absolutely love Donovan Jackson. Also love Eric Wilson. Hey, Mr. Wilson. E will doing the damn thing. Vikings fan page. Eric Wilson this season and where they rank on the Vikings. 91 total tackles second. Uh five and a half sacks tied for first with Diamond Dallas Turner. 15 tackles for loss first. Three force fumbles first. Eric Wilson should be a Pro Bowl this year. But you know with the voting it’s all about name recognition. And I I I don’t think he’s going to get the the votes for the Pro Bowl. Definitely deserves it though as an NFC offball linebacker. Also, so Daniel Jones popped his Achilles out for the season. It shouldn’t affect the Vikings comp pick because I I believe he’s already crossed the threshold of number of starts in terms of percentage- wise. And again, the NFL comp formula is proprietary, but over the cap does a good job guesstimating it. So, it shouldn’t affect things, right? So, but Daniel Jones, I don’t know. Like, Colts will probably bring back Daniel Jones, but certainly affects the money, certainly affects the years and the guarantee. But for the Colts, I mean, they were staring down the barrel of uh a rookie quarterback, except he’s dinged up. And now Philillip Jerome Rivers Mike Afalo sources to me and rap sheet. The Colts are planning to bring in quarterback Philip Rivers for a visit tomorrow today after Daniel Jones torn Achilles. This is real. Dag gum it out of action since 2020. The potential uh future Hall of Famer is exploring an NFL return. He’s literally a grandfather, right? This is Bert Favore all over again. And I think they would be awesome. And the Colts are currently on the outside of the playoff picture. They’re they had a seven to1 start. They sort of been crashing lately. And they have a tough ass schedule coming on up. But I don’t know. It’d be awesome. Like the alternatives are Riley Leonard who’s banged up, the rookie from Duke, or Brett Ripeness is on their practice squad. That’s it. I I know they’re hoping it’s like, hey, maybe the Bengals will put Joe Flacco through waiverss, but someone will just claim him to see block the Colts because it’ll be funny to me. Also, uh speaking of former Vikings, Adam Dome, Ezekiel in his Steelers debut, 25 offensive snaps, one catch, four yards, one target. So, in a game where I mean Rogers was looking good, put putting up numbers, DK Maf doing his thing. Um this is his playing time. Yeah, probably take a while for him to get settled, but 25 offensive snaps. It’s kind of a lot. Yeah. Also, so unfortunately pivoting towards draft season and you know, the Vikings could add a lot of players. Jeremiah Love, the running back from Notre Dame, they could add a dackle. They could add a linebacker. They could add a safety. They could add a cornerback. Jordan Reed, Clemson quarterback Evan Terrell is entering the 2026 NFL draft. He announced a potential firstround corner. He’s a stud. He’s a stunt man. I know that there’s going to be a fistful of really good corners in this draft. And as Flora says, you can never have enough good corners. And hopefully this will be a better hit rate than you know what the Vikings did, you know, a couple years of going through Josh Robinson and Mike Hughes and Trey Wes, etc. But Terrell’s a dude. Terrell’s a dude. Of course, uh AJ Trell and all that stuff, but I love it, man. I love draft season. It’s fantastic, but also also this is great, too. So Josh Mattelis, Andrew Van Ginkkel, uh, South St. Paul, uh, doing some great work in the community. And this is what Andrew Van Ginkle would be be like if he didn’t have the G sixes and and the sacks. But it’s great. Again, I love this team because they understand what it means to be civically minded and very active in the community. And it just ingrains the team in the community and ingratiates themselves to the community and, you know, gives you a lot of leeway in tough times. And also when when it’s good, it’s really good, man. So it’s fantastic. Also, Beno looks way too comfortable in that. Also, is Josh Mattelis actually Santa? Tell us with Mattelis. Are you actually Santa Fo? Yeah. But also, so I was kind of skeptical at first, like if the Vikings were playing like ass. Thank you. maybe it wouldn’t be great for them to be on in prime time, but you know, Jerry Jones has a lot of leeway with the TV uh w with, you know, the TV committee and you even though there’s a lot of really good games in the afternoon. Vikings Cowboys getting it on. One more shot for Harrison Smith to prove it in prime time. Another great spot for JJ McCarthy to really prove all the haters and the losers wrong.
