Shams Drops BOMBSHELL Raptors Trade Report…
Shams Trannia just dropped a bombshell report revealing the Toronto Raptors are in the mix for an Anthony Davis trade, which is crazy to say because we’ve seen all of the links, all the minor reports linking the Toronto Raptor, some big names across the NBA given their current status out there in the Eastern Conference and the contracts they have on this roster. But now we have a big report dropping from Shams on this whole Anthony Davis situation and the Toronto Raptors are directly named as a trade suitor from the deepest insider out there in the NBA. So we’re going to break down what this report is saying whether or not it makes sense for the Toronto Raptors to go down this path given all the context everything that’s going on because of course we look at Anthony Davis we look at this guy the impact that he can have out there on the court when healthy. That’s the key term there when healthy because Anthony Davis is a guy that statistically even this year in what’s been felt like a down year for the Dallas Mavericks. Of course, you know, the Mavs have been struggling out there in the Western Conference. It’s the reason that uh these trade targets and trade assets are available, but AD’s been averaging 19.6 points per game, 10 rebounds, three assists, efficient shooting. He’s still one of the best big men out there in the NBA when he’s out there on the basketball court. Do not get me wrong, he plays on both ends of the floor. AD is fantastic and would be a major upgrade in our funk court if everything was equal. Everything’s in a vacuum and he’s healthy and everything along those lines. So, everyone might see this report and be like, “Hey, this is a great update from Shams Tranni as he revealed that Anthony Davis of the Dallas Mavericks, another former NBA champion, is expected to be a critical trade target of several teams, including many Eastern Conference contenders. that Toronto, the Detroit Pistons, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Toronto Raptors are expected to be suitors for Anthony Davis. League sources have told ESPN. So, people will see that report and you look at the stats and be like, “Hey, this is fantastic. This is huge.” You get a star player like AD to add to the mix of Brandon Ingram, of Scotty Barnes, of this group that this team has, right? What could go wrong? What could be the the bad part of that? Well, there is a lot of context. There’s a lot of things to dive into and reasons that this would be a massive risk for this team. And the basketball fit, the basketball court, if he’s healthy, isn’t one of the main ones because again, taking a deeper look at Anthony Davis, he’s 6’10”, 250 lbs, playing for the Dallas Mavericks. He’s 32 years old here now at this point. Of course, has been a multi-time all-star, has been NBA champion, everything like that. But as everyone knows with AD, taking a look at his full career stats, the dude has just been plagued with injuries and it’s been very very bad over the past couple of years. Uh the 2425 season only played 51 games. He had a blimp there. You know, 23 24 played 76 games, but before that 54, 40 games, 36 games, right? That is not a great track record of injury history over the past five seasons. So, if you make a move for Anthony Davis, then you are at serious risk of something like that happening. And again, his contract, he’s an impending free agent, not this off seasonason, but in the coming years if he turns down his player option. You know, looking at his bread, looking at his money, he’s making $54 million this season, $58 million the next season, then $62 million in 2728 on a player option. So, he could choose to pick that up or he could become, you know, a free agent after next season if he wants to leave or move in a different spot or get his final big contract in the NBA. So, those are all things you have to take a look at with Anthony Davis, the injury risk and all that type of stuff. And we have some more context before we dive in at what the Raptors could actually give up, you know, in terms of a trade package, more context on the situation. So, Shams essentially said that Dallas has wanted to evaluate its roster as much as possible. Even as Irving, who tours ACL in March, is out indefinitely at the at 9 and 16, the Mavericks are in the plane picture, but the 26 draft is the last one in their control until 2031. So providing a pathway to retool the roster at the deadline, acquire future assets, and similarly uh position the team next June when is lucked into uh you know, Cooper flag with the number one pick last season. Teams are already preparing for conversations with the Mavericks at the deadline. And those talks could create significant decisions leaguewide. So, it’s not a foregone conclusion that Anthony Davis will be traded. That’s some context that does need to be, you know, detailed there. But, we did have an update from Chris Manx, who came out and directly stated that uh, you know, if we have this uh, wrong report there, but he is not a long-term guy in Dallas. They’re going to rebuild at some point. They have looked at the market for Anthony Davis. So, Manx is coming out and directly stating that, you know, more direct that this trade is in incoming, impending. So, that’s something to bring up. And underdog summarized a lot of the rest of the points from Shams Tronia. So, uh, the Giannis update, the Yiannis front, the next one have exclusive access to Giannis trades. That’s a whole another video for the Raptors if we’re still in the Giannis sweep stakes. But the Raptors are expected to be suitors for Davis. The Mavs haven’t ruled out exploring an offseason contract extension for AD. And the Mavs are open to exploring trades for Daniel Gaffford, Klay Thompson, and D’Angelo Russell. Now, Klay and D’Angelo Russell don’t make sense on this Raptors roster. They don’t make sense as fits. So, not guys we’re going to dive into here. But of course, Daniel Gaffford’s a player that Raptors fans have been very much interested, probably even more so than Anthony Davis cuz you don’t have as significant of an injury risk over the course of his career and someone you can play alongside Yaka Purle, but Daniel Gaffford will be for another video. Anthony Davis is kind of the big name that the Raptors have been directly linked to in this one. And personally, I’d love to insert Anthony Davis in a vacuum on this team. I think he’d be a great fit. He’d fortify our front court. You could play him with Purle. You could play him at center and have Purle on the bench. There’s a lot of different things you can do with a healthy Anthony Davis. But with the injury risk, with his age, with all this stuff that you have to factor in, it would be a significant risk for the Toronto Raptors to make this move and at a certain price tag because if you even if his trade value is low, which we’ve heard in recent years is the in recent reports that’s the case, his trade value is at an all-time low, right? Given this contract, you still have to match salaries. So the least amount of stuff that we could give out into an Anthony Davis trade, you know, that feels in terms of buddy and stuff would be Emanuel Quickley and Yaka Purle and that, you know, Anthony Davis going out and I’d imagine they want some picks. They’d want something on top of this, but you know, this is essentially the bare minimum trade. You could also do an RJ Barrett deal in there, but as you guys know, and as anyone that uh you know, he uh anyone that’s been watching this team over the past couple weeks should know, RJ Barrett should not be dealt from the Toronto Raptors. He has been fantastic this season. He’s out a reasonable contract and he’s a player that frankly is just super impactful for unlocking other guys. You know, 20 points per game, five rebounds, four assists, super efficient over the course of this season, which is great to see. You know, true shooting is in the top third of the NBA while being close to a 20 point per game score. RJ Barrett has been fantastic. So, not the ideal guy to immediately send out and trade out in a trade, even if you do have a glut of wings out there at your shooting guard position. So those are all things that you have to factor in that you have to take a look at an Anthony Davis deal. But even you know trading a Yak Pro I know he has been rough over the last few games. He has points per game are down over the course of this season. You know he gets some rebounds. He’s effective around the basket. He’s not a floor spacer. He hasn’t been shooting threes or doing anything out there along those lines. So uh the injury bug has just been a serious concern of mine for Yaka Purle. and the fact that we signed him to a multipleyear extension where 3 years from now is going to be making 20 close to $30 million annually. Again, if he can’t stay healthy, that is a big big risk for the Toronto Raptor to have on their books. And then you also have Emanuel Quickley who this season again has had some great nights, has had some big moments, has had some good stuff. You have 16 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, four assists, and doing some decent things out there on the court, but again has the efficiency certain nights. It’s up and down. Emanuel Cook is one of the most inconsistent players out there at the NBA. So, it’s uh we’ll see how things shake out. So, again, I don’t know what the the Dallas Mavericks are interested. I don’t know how much they Toronto Raptors are willing to give up, but I want to know what you guys think. Do you think the Toronto Raptors should trade for Anthony Davis? Let me know yes or no because this team is in an interesting spot and they have a gigantic game tonight, which should show uh the direction the Raptors are moving forward to this. And we do have some injury updates down below. I also respond to everyone that responds that comments down below. So, we’ll get that going. But we do have an update for tonight’s game as Jamalshed is questionable for tonight’s NBA Cup quarterfinals game against the New York Knicks with a right quad contusion. James Bell left ankle sprain is doubtful and RJ Barrett remains out. So we have this of course facing against the New York Knicks who are one of the top teams out there in the NBA right now. Facing up against them in the NBA Cup finals. This is the biggest game of the season. You know if you make this you end up going further out there this NBA Cup tour of it. You’re facing against Jaylen Bruner. are facing against the New York Knicks who have been fantastic this year. They’ve been winning a ton of games as of late. Some good big wins for their team. You know, they got lots of OG, lots of names out there for that squad. So, we’ll see how things shake out. Excited to get that going. If I get my stream set up that uh we’ll probably be going live for that game. Anyways, you guys the best. Appreciate every single one of you. I’m signing out. Cheers.
The Toronto Raptors are reportedly in on the Anthony Davis trade sweepstakes, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. Ben Rogers breaks down the report and what it means for the Raptors moving forward.

The raptors are always suitors but we never get anything. Also i dont want AD
It’s a desperate move from the front office to distract from this mid squad that they have put together.
AD is only 32 and technically still in his prime. You people talk like he’s 37-37. He’s Just as dominant as always been when not injured, and it’s not an age thing he’s been injured since he entered the league lol
NO, NO, NO , street clothes !! Why would Bobby Webster do this ? It will mortgage our future for a DUD !! AN OFTEN INJURED OVER PRICED HAS BEEN ! DAVIS IS JUST ANOTHER ZION WILLIAMSON …. !!
No. F no!
massive pass on ad
He's not 7ft but what about M. Bagley on Washington? He seems like a reasonable backup. I don't know much about his game but a cheaper yet useful backup should be the plan.
Hell no to AD.
Gafford is should be their first call to Dallas not an injury prone 35yr old Davis who doesn’t even like playing centre😂😂…. Robert Williams lll has be playing well this season too, we could trade for him and not give up any of our core
American media always links the Raptors to every overpayed, injury prone player.
RJ has to stay somehow 👍
I want to see Sarr get called up from they g League. And I want to see Darko play big Ingram, Barnes, mama said, MOBO, Sarr , CMB.
I swear! ESPN analysts are full of crap!! Who said that the Raptors are trying to get AD?!🤦🏿♂️
Ugh 😣 nooooooooooo!!! Please no.
I would rather sign Dwight Howard for a minimum contract
This report is more shell than bomb.
Why are we going after AD when IQ can't even deliver an entry pass? Throw IQ and Gradey or Ochai and pick for Lamelo.
Raptors fans NEVER learn smdh. I remember when these same fans didn't wanna trade pascal away, and now 2 years later after pascal the raptors look wayyyy better, they have all their assets and extras for the future. OFC this homer fanbase thinks that the current roster is enough to win a championship lol. Raptors have a good roster, and a good team. Championship team? NO. Why this casual fanbase ALWAYS pushes back when BIG names stars are linked to us is a joke. The whole point of playing is to WIN championships. Homer raptors fans need to SHHHH….yall gonna be Homer's regardless, if we get giannis, AD, kawhi etc, yall gonna be Homer's and support 😂
Man no AD, we need Giannis…..
Quickly should be traded… but RJ no he started the season as the best scorer for raptors…
Trash… I've watched the Raps for 25 years. I'll never watch them again
Nooooooooooooooooo!
never healthy why do people insist on throwing around the "when healthy" qualifier pathetic
Asinine
I follow the MAVS and RAPTORS. What are you going to give to the MAVS? AD is playing the center spot at the moment, winning 4 of last 5. Gafford makes the most sense for a trade. RAPTORS do need a center. PEOLTL is a good backup center. I don't see any players on the RAPTORS besides BARNES to help the MAVS…and BARNES will be a duplicate of a COOPER FLAGG.
i thought about it and i actually don’t hate an AD trade but it depends what we would have to give up.
Please, NO…
N
True raptors fans wouldn’t like this trade at all ! A.D. is too much to give up , cost too much , and only will play 65% of the szn if he’s healthy , and his contract player option is costly .
Raptors should get a younger mobile Big and coach and develop them into Coach Darko’s system. = NO to the 10th degree
No.. AD is past his prime, more of a static half court player, doesn't fit Raptors dynamic fast play. Also needs a true pg to be successful, which the league is moving away from. Sorry but the mavs are toast on this one.
Alex McKechnie and fix him lol
N – And not entirely because of his injury history, but because I wouldn't buy it that he would WANT to play for us. The attitude combined with his contract, of which we would get a guaranteed full year with him, before he can decide on his P.O. is a red flag for me. Not to mention the core pieces we'd stand to lose in the process. Including picks. No for me.
Gawd No!!!
Think about how many decent centres we could get for these kind of trade packages….without the pain of his availability or contract
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Stop this nonsense
Raptors don’t make in season trades for stars. Barely get them in the first place! Not of that caliber
Dont want day to day davis
If its cheap why not him Barnes Ingram is pretty scary just depends on price id not give multiple 1st but he looks out of shape this year so its a big gamble
If they get him for nothing let's go
Garbage
He does not want to play the 5.. common folks. Darko not only have to convince that man to play in our system but to play a position he dont want to play 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
We don't need him, he doesn't even play effective at Centre
Another bullshite story.
They always want to peddle their trash to toronto.
Gafford or bust from Dallas!
Our Toronto medical staff is legendary in the NBA
Big no for Davis!!!!!!!!!!
BAD DEAL!!! Plain clothes Davis will never play!
