🚨The Falcons Are Making Some BIG Changes To Their Starting Lineup…
[Music] I want to start today’s show by telling you guys that this is a non-madeup stat actually found completely true. The Georgia Bulldogs have won the same amount of games in the last two weeks at Mercedes-Benz Stadium that the Atlanta Falcons have all season long. Welcome in Falcons fans to Falcons today by chat sports. My name is Moose. Now, on today, we’re actually going to talk about something that I think is rather exciting. One exciting piece of news for Atlanta Falcons fans, and it comes, by the way, of our most recent acquisition, our most recent roster move, signing Malik Heath off of NFL waivers. And if you know anything about NFL waivers, once you sign from NFL waivers, they have to automatically be signed onto the 53man roster. Now, I started thinking a little bit. Okay, now that Malik Heath has signed, is there definitely a shakeup now with the starting lineup? Well, we’ve already seen two starting wide receivers get thrown into the starting lineup. Could we be seeing more changes as they come about? Now, before we get into what I believe could be a very exciting last four games based off of these changes, if you want more daily videos, you got to subscribe. But it goes beyond that. If you want more daily videos, if you want more and more Falcons content, you got to share this video with some Falcons fans in your life. So, click that little share icon and send it to somebody that has never seen a Falcons Today episode. All right, let’s talk about this new face in the Falcons locker room. Malik Heath is a UDFA or was a UDFA out of Miss back in 2023 with the Green Bay Packers. He appeared in 37 games for the Packers. So, this is an active wide receiver that got a lot of playing time. 36 receptions, 308 yards, and three career touchdowns uh for his entire career in his very short 37 games that he’s played in the NFL. Now, I will start by asking this question, not only to Raheem Morris, but to Terry Fontau, Zack Robinson. Why does it take so long to make decent roster moves? We’ve been clamoring for the Atlanta Falcons to sign some wide receiver help to get any sort of help for Drake London, Michael Pennix when he was playing, and then Kirk Cousins. And all of a sudden, now that we’re completely out of playoff contention, okay, let’s now start signing some players. We’ll go get KJ Osborne, although he just sits rots on the practice squad. We can get Malik Heath and sign him to the Active 53. But what good does that do? We’re out. So why does it take so long? Why didn’t you do this in week seven 89? I digress. Falcons wire had a pretty good excerpt talking about what Malik Heath is and where he kind of comes from. The Falcons currently have nine wide receivers on the roster, but they haven’t gotten much production from the position without Drake London. London is considered day-to-day with a knee injury and was listed as a nonparticipant on Monday’s estimated injury report. They go on to talk about Malik Heath, where he comes from, Green Bay, kind of basically what I just summed up to you guys in that little player bio for him. Here’s also what I know about this acquisition. Raheem Morris came out yesterday and essentially told us that the coaching changes were now irrelevant. Okay, fine. Maybe I acted a little angry in yesterday’s video, but I still have a glaring problem. If it’s about talent acquisition, and if it’s about player evaluation, then we need to see the practice squad players, we need to see the most recent signings in action because we’ve already seen what the current roster is capable of, and that’s four wins. So, why not that we’re out of playoff contention? See what you have on the practice squad. I can name five players that I want to see immediately. Chris Blair, Nick Nash, KJ Osborne, Kyle Tras, and CJ Henderson. All five of them. All of them. I would rather see than Kirk Cousins and the current sludge that we’ve got trouting out every single week at the wide receiver position. I saw an interesting statistic, little sidebar here for you, that out of the nine active roster uh wide receivers on the active roster, we have nine of them. Out of those nine, if you take away Drake London, you have eight other wide receivers. Out of those eight, only three combined touchdowns. That is beyond pathetic. But I’m sure you’re wondering, Moose, why would we make the lineup changes now that we’re out? Well, I’ll tell you why. There is no need to start Drake London anymore. Like what’s the point? Just rest him. Let him get healthy for next year. There is literally no point other than our own amusement to go out there and see Drake London. You can evaluate 53man roster talent for next year. So any of these players that we could see play, if any one of them plays well, they might have a shot to make the 53 next year. Oh, and by the way, it gives the fans some excitement. Are you excited about watching the Falcons versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming up here in a little bit? I don’t think so. But maybe if we made some changes, maybe if we made some starting lineup adjustments, maybe there would be a little bit more excitement. And coming up here, by the way, I’m going to ask you this question real quick. Name a practice squad player that you want to see play. Let me know in the comment section down below. Mine is Nick Nash. Um, I I’ve been staking my claim for Nick Nash to get on the field as frequently as possible. For whatever reason, they just don’t want to activate him and it’s crazy to me. But coming up, like I said, I do think there needs to be a change at quarterback. I’ve already seen what Kirk Cousins is. I know what the contract says. There is no reason to play Kirk Cousins another game for the rest of the 2025 season. Before I get into the quarterback change that I would make, I have to tell you about our friends over at Harry’s. As the hairiest guy, you know, trust me when I say this, I’ve got Harry’s products lined up on deck, ready to go at home. It is the only product that I trust with my personal grooming habits. And let’s be completely honest with ourselves. Did your old razor dull way too quickly? Did it irritate your neck? Did it cost way too much? Refined blade tech for a closer and smoother shave, and a weighted handle that adds extra control and comfort. With Harry’s Plus, you’re getting a barberhop quality shave with German engineered blades. Each blade honed at three different angles to cut hair cleanly at the root without any sort of tugging. This set includes the allnew Harry’s Plus razor, one refined fiveblade cartridge, a 2o foaming shave gel, a travel cover to protect your blades on the go, and all you got to do is head on over to harrys.com/hat to claim this offer. And after you purchase, they’re going to say, “Hey, where’d you hear about us? Please support the Falcons Today host here, Mr. Moose, and tell them that I sent you all of that in the comments and description of today’s video. I think you need to start Kyle Tras.” Whoa, Moose. He’s a practice squad guy. Why would you start him? Why not? Are you guys actually telling me that you have been very pleased with what Kirk Cousins has been able to do? He can’t move. And against the best competition, Kirk Cousins clearly can no longer do it. I mean, I don’t need to see anything else from Kirk Cousins this year. Four games started, a record of 1 and three. Passing yards, 845 touchdown interception ratio is 1:1. So, three touchdowns to three picks and a passer rating of 76.5. I I honestly don’t need to see anything more from Kirk. I know what Kirk is. And why on earth would you start Kurt Cousins if you already are out of the playoffs? The only reason that you would do it is because you want to win football games. And I get it. Fine. But you also just told us, Raheem, that it’s about evaluating talent. Well, you don’t need to evaluate Kirk Cousins anymore. He’s not going to be on the team next year. So why would you ride it out? You’ve got Eastston stick who is a career backup. So, why not just start Kyle Tras and see what he’s got? Yes, I know you want to play spoiler, right? Oh, okay. Let’s play spoiler. But at this point, if it is about the talent acquisition, if it is about making sure that you can evaluate talent, then why on earth would you not? And producer Surl, if you want to put that potential starting lineup up one more time, I’ll just go through what I would have starting against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I’d have Tras at the QB. I’d have my my offensive line starting normal because you need to give some protection to your quarterback. I’d have Darnell Mooney at the one. I’d have Malik Heath. And I’d have Nick Nash at the three with Kyle Pitts and Bejian Robinson. You tell me right now, Falcons fans, if you would accept this starting lineup over the ones that we’ve been drawing out. Granted, it might not look as good on paper, but the game isn’t played on paper. It’s played on grass. and the Falcons have been awful on the grass. So, why not switch things up? That’s just me. It would give us something to watch. It would give us something to cheer for. It would give us something to feel excited about because eventually you I mean, Kyle Tras was a second round pick, so he’s got some talent. It’s not like we took this guy as an undrafted free agent out of Stonybrook. This was a guy that played at the University of Florida. He’s got a rapport with Kyle Pittz. Why not play him? Why not? And I will kind of end out today’s episode by bringing up some other news for you. Um, this is from Sunday Night Falcon. I found this on Twitter. Now, I don’t know how legitimate this is, so take this with a grain of salt, but according to this ex account, sources in the locker room are saying that several Falcons players feel let down by the coaching staff. Growing frustration is mounting that Raheem Morris’s loyalty to the coaching staff, Zack Robinson and Maris Williams and all of that personnel has derailed not one but two seasons. So the players are even being rumored to being like we need something else. So if you’re not going to make the coaching changes, Raheem, why not just put the game in the hands of the players? literally elevate the players we want to see. Let them go out and shine. Maybe it gives them that little extra boost. Let them dictate the flow of the game and the personnel for the remainder of the season. Hell, you might even win some football games. And I’m sure there’s going to be one Falcons fan, maybe three or four that get down there and go, “Moose, you cannot absolutely believe that Kyle Tras gives us a better chance to win.” Of course not. But why not evaluate him and just see what he’s got? season’s done. Anyway, let’s end on some good news. Let’s end on some very positive news. I do want to briefly mention one defensive player, James Pierce Jr. Um, sacks their rookie seasons, by the way. TJ Watt, Miles Garrett, and Max Crosby all had seven. James Pierce Jr. has six. I’m just saying, you could be looking at a next year Pro Bowler. I will make a video at some point during this off seasonason talking about my expectations for James Pierce Jr. next year and I do believe he should have at least 10 sacks next year. You have clearly seen the development of the talent this football season. So we are going to end the show on good news by giving you that uh little excerpt and that little statistic there. I think the Falcons defense has a lot that it can grow on. Jaylen Walker, James Pierce Jr., Billy Bowman, Xavier Watts, Jesse Bates. This entire Falcons defense actually has some really good pieces. Divine Diablo, Kaden Ellis, like there’s tons of really good talent and that is why you subscribe because I’m going to give you the good and I’m going to give you the bad. Make sure that you send this to a Falcons fan that has never seen our stuff. I’ve been getting reached out to by a lot of different Falcons content creators recently that love the show and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that. But if you want to join the ever growing family of real Falcons fans, you got to hit subscribe today. As always, Falcons fans, rise up and be cool. [Music]
Atlanta Falcons rumors come at the expense of the Falcons starting lineup on today’s Falcons Today episode by Chat Sports. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris called the coaching changes “irrelevant” and that talent evaluation is now the main key to the rest of the 2025 NFL season. Falcons Today host Trace Moustakas explains what his new Falcons starting lineup would be if the TRUE goal of the Falcons is to evaluate talent, he must activate players from the Falcons practice squad. Nick Nash, K.J. Osborn, and Kyle Trask all need to be elevated to the 53 man roster and play in place of other players that haven’t lived up to expectations.

Nick Nash for sure
Please start Kyle Trask!
To be honest … yes! This makes the perfect sense. We need to address the issues and balance the talent, especially now that we have been eliminated. Atlanta Falcons needs more offensive weapons first and foremost. Y all means , yes switch things up! I would go as far as my chances of trading for Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders! I digress but we need to do something different.
Fire Terry and Raheem
Chris Blair! Nick Nash is a close second. And Kirk Cousins is washed.
Nick Nash
Sorry but I am not going to get too excited about signing a waiver WR with these kind of stats. I mean that is an average of less than 1 catch per game he played in and 1 TD per 10. Pretty sure we have WR that are already pulling those numbers of better. Yes we need a serious #2 WR but this is not even in that ball park.
Moose feel sorry for you having to cover these losers every day. I start each season with hope but don't know why with the azz clowns that are running the franchise. Just glad I don't have season tickets. It's like getting a root canal sans novacaine every Sunday.
They probably thought they could get Drake London back. Maybe that's why they didn't get a receiver.
I would absolutely play as many second strings as possible, every single rookie/back up/practice squad player that might make the 53 and protect the stars from what amounts to unnecessary risk
I mean JPJ stills has four games he could have 10 sacks this year…
Raheem Morris isn’t going to trot out practice squad players.. he’s trying to keep his job (which hopefully he doesn’t) but it makes zero sense for him to evaluate practice squad players to see what we got if he’s not going to be here next season.
There's an old Frank Zappa album called "Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch." I cannot think of a better application to that term than the Falcons' current situation.
I`d start Felipe Franks over Kyle Pitts, at least he would BLOCK for us if nothing else.
Nashville, he had i think 8 catches in preseason game.
We definitely need to do the roster you had up.
Great takes, Moose!
Time to trade Kirk Cousins to the Colts for some picks haha
I hope we don't see Drake London til next season! do not risk getting him hurt!
Hers my thought on Cousins. The playing calling is crap and I’ve seen more dropped balls the past 3 weeks than the whole season it seems. Anyone agree
Why don’t we play KJ Osborn??
I completely agree with everything you said.
Hate to say it but Morris will be the coach next year.
