Braves get the NINTH Pick in the 2026 MLB Draft

The Atlanta Braves wind up with the ninth pick in the MLB draft. Quite disappointing. Jake Mastiano from Lockton Braves and this was a big day for the Atlanta Braves. You had a chance to get a really high pick in the upcoming draft. They had the sixth highest odds for the first overall pick, hoping at least you were going to be in the top six, the top five. Instead, they get the ninth spot in the draft with the draft lottery system we have now. So, it’s still a top 10 pick. They’re going to get a good player. They’re going to have plenty of bonus pool money to use with that 26th overall pick they get from the Drake Ball winning the rookie of the year. But certainly we’re hoping for much better than this. There’s four really good shorts stops in this draft and I don’t know if they’re going to be able to land one of them at number nine. Be some other great talent as well that we’ll talk about on the next episode of Lockdown Braves. But bit of a disappointing result here with the draft lottery coming in at number nine. We’ll talk more about this on the next episode of a locked on braves.

Despite having the sixth-best odds for the number one pick, the Atlanta Baves end up picking ninth in the upcoming 2026 MLB Draft.

  1. Goes right along with past couple of seasons and off seasons.. I hope we do something big soon.. starting to feel like 2024 off season.. lots of talk and nothing happens

  2. Really, 9th pick but at least Baldwin won the Rookie of the Year award. Braves need a big splash in free agency now. Kyle Schwarber is off the boards which that's on the front office on not being aggressive. Can we get Pete Alonso? A big time player that can change the mood of the clubhouse.
