So in the unlikely event that the Flames made a wild card spot and got paired against Colorado or Dallas, what do they actually think would happen?
Nothing should distract this franchise from trading Kadri, Coleman and Anderrsson and making moves that benefit the future of this franchise and their exhausted fan base.
It’s not really his choice.
An eternity in hockey purgatory, and it’s thanks to ownership. This team values the revenue from two playoff games so much more than sacrificing now, building a contender and going deep in the playoffs in the future.
We’ve also played the most games in the whole league so our point total is a bit of a mirage
Taaaank
Or beat Edmonton
If we trade Coleman and Ras by the deadline I’ll be pretty happy. No matter where we finish.
Let’s say magically they somehow sneak into WC2. As Darryl Sutter said in spring of 2022 “it’s gonna be a waste of 8 days” especially since that WC2 team will most definitely be Colorado. This team is not competent or built to contend and if they somehow make it in, shame on the rest of the league and especially the western conference for allowing such a shitty, terrible team make it.
gotta pull a ‘19 Blues
Please for the love of God, do not “not tank”
I just want to see good asset management which means Andersson must be traded while not giving up futures. Coleman and Kadri should eventually be traded too but there is no rush until Conroy gets offers he can’t refuse.
They brought up a good point on Barnburner today, if you are in the “trade the vets as soon as possible” camp, sort of like I am:
How low an offer would you take in order to get these guys moved sooner rather than later?
You’ve got to mitigate the return with the risk that if you keep them, they may help this team continue to get closer to 500-super-fun-time mid hockey.
I don’t know the answer, thought it was a good question though.
I think we’re at a very unusual point in the season. Calgary is coming off of an unsustainable stretch of games where they were among the best teams in the league, and most teams in the western conference playoff race have been 0.500 or below over the same period. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Flames fall off this pace, and for the rest of the western conference playoff race to take a big step forward.
Got the next 4 and a half months of these posts boys as people debate a team tanking for a non-guaranteed draft pick, for a non-guaranteed prospect that isn’t some magic wand on making the team better.
29/32 and 3 points out of WC2… The NHL is weird this year.
’15 it. Sell but still succeed.
The only extension we should consider before the end of the season is Cooley. Can’t let Edmonton get a whiff of help from the goalie market.
Our biggest riddle is Ras. It’s not whether you sell. It’s when and what you take back.
Can’t do another mushy middle. This is our best chance to actually get a franchise player. Just fukin do it plsss for the love of Jesus tank the god dam season. What’s a playoff spot if u dont have the team to go far. Now is the chance to make this rebuild happen.

Tank. If you think this team has a chance to even win a round you’re nuts.
The answer is going to be whatever sells more beer at the Saddledome, this year.
I like andersson too bad everyone wanna trade him i always thought he was the captain one day after tkachuk and gaudreau and monahan left . Hes got character and his stare downs are hilarious and he puts up numbers, i also like coleman and kadri but hope they trade then and resign andersson
