Bummer result after our worst season in a while. Was hoping to get to capitalize on a rare stinker of a year.

You know, some people were saying we should have intentionally tried to play worse last year to get a better spot in the lottery…. But that didn’t really work out so well for the Rockies, did it?
To anyone who’s really worried about our spot in the draft order, I want to remind everyone that neither of our Rookies of the Year were first round picks. Not even our runner up from 2022 was a first round pick.
You know who was a first round pick?
Jarred fucking Kelenic.
For anyone upset about the lottery:
The Braves had the ninth worst record in baseball, so they’re actually picking in the exact same spot they would if not for the lottery.
Also, since the institution of the lottery coincided with the introduction of the PPI pick initiative, the Braves would not have received an extra pick for Drake Baldwin winning ROY.
So, while it is true that we could have picked higher than ninth, without the lottery system we would have missed out on Drake’s pick and slot money, and been stuck with the ninth overall pick anyway.
Damn the giants??

I don’t really pay attention to MLB Drafts, but advantage does order give you. There are probably phenoms picked at the very beginning, but it feels like a crapshoot beyond Paul Skenes tier players whether they’ll even make the show or not
So pick 9 and 26 this year
We got screwed on our odds. I was holding the slight hope we’d jump to the top 4 and land one of the blue chip shortstops even after going heavy on them this past draft.
We got all those shortstops last year…the top 8 looks like mostly shortstops. Maybe the Georgia Tech OF falls to 9th.
My wet dream was Cholowsky, but I don’t think he’ll be available at #9. Emerson or Lombard Jr. would be great too, but I don’t know if the’ll be available either.
So maybe Derek Curiel? That kid can straight up rake.
It’s still waaaay to early to talk about picks, anyway. Prospects rakings can complete change after HS/College seasons are over.
We have picks 9, 26, 48 and 86! 4 in the top 100.
Hate this. Please still pick the best available player.
Don’t play bonus pool games to get more quantity. I want one potential star- preferably Burress or Lombard
PLEASE give me lebron, not because of how good he is but because I want to buy a lebron Braves jersey
