Should the Detroit Red Wings Trade for Quinn Hughes?

Should the Detroit Red Wings trade for Quinn Hughes? Let’s talk about it. The 26-year-old superstar defenseman is suddenly showing up in major trade rumors. The Canucks are sliding in the standings, and Hughes just has 18 months left on his deal. He’s an elite play driving defenseman, smooth skating, insane edge work, elite puck movement, and one of the best offensive bliners in the NHL. a legit 90point threat who changes how a whole team attacks. Detroit makes the most sense because Hughes grew up in Michigan, the Waynees have the cap, and adding a superstar defenseman to their young core could push them to be contenders. But this wouldn’t be cheap. The Canucks would want a top roster player, top prospects, and a couple of first round picks. But Hughes can’t sign an extension until mid 2026. And if Detroit pays big, there’s no guarantee he stays longterm, especially with his brothers playing for the Devils.

  1. Why? Did you see what Wings did? they won 4-0. ASP had 2 assists. Be patient, let our own assets develop. Rebuilding takes time. We have 3 rookies who are flourishing in the NHL. #yzerplan LGRW. I do feel sorry for Quinn, what a mess their locker room is. We don’t need none of this in our home!

  2. Canucks already gave up 2 draft choices 1st and 2nd rounder from Detroit for Hronek…and hes no where close to Quinns talent. Hes more likely going to Jersey to join brothers I would think. Trade for a center nucks need, Mercer would be a great fit plus a 2nd round draft choice.
