Be more than happy to get you some information. But, let’s get to this one. Between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs, it is a knockout round matchup of the NBA Cup. You know, the Lakers and the Spurs, you know, two teams that are playing some fantastic basketball this season. The Lakers 17-6 overall this season, 15-8 against the number. They knocked off Philadelphia last time out 112 108 while San Antonio comes in 16-7 on the year 1210 and one against the number this season after their 135 132 road win over New Orleans in their last game and admittedly this is you know a New Orleans team that or sorry San Antonio team that took on New Orleans. New Orleans didn’t really back down that game and they’ve been playing some improved basketball. And you know, for San Antonio, they’ve had three of their last five games on the road be wins by three points or less. They’ve also lost by three points in Minnesota and also uh sorry, pardon me, 13 points in Minnesota and 13 points in Cleveland. So, you know, you take the good with the bad with the Spurs. But I will say it’s been impressive when you just consider the state of, you know, San Antonio this season and where they’ve been in terms of their injury situation. Obviously, losing uh a generational player like Victor Webinama is a big loss for a team for, you know, a sustainable amount of time. But despite that, the Spurs have been able to sort of tread water and, you know, keep themselves in the mix and they’ve been able to get Stefan Castle back in the lineup, which is a huge addition and a huge, you know, return for that team. And I think it’s going to, you know, pay dividends for this team once they start getting guys healthier back in the lineup. I think Castle starting to get his feet back underneath him, only playing 23 minutes in that last game. Still had 18, five, and five. So, I think he’s going to be able to really help this Spurs team. and a Spurs team I definitely think is going to be able to challenge for a playoff spot this year. On the other side though, you do have the Lakers who still are playing at an elite level right now. You know, still just absolutely rolling. You they’ve had, you know, Luca Donic put up another triple double last time out. Austin Reeves had an offshooting night, but even then, he’s still been a nice complimentary piece for Donic. You know, LeBron James looked like vintage LeBron with 29 points in that game in that last outing against Philly. So, you know, it’s no surprise that the Lakers would be favored at home this season. But in all honesty, you know, you could make a a case that they’ve been better on the road this season. They’re seven and three in 10 home games, but 10 and three on the road this season. The thing is though, the San Antonio Spurs, you know, this is a Spurs team that has been competitive in a lot of spots. And when I look at San Antonio, San Antonio fits the mold of the prototypical team that has been using the NBA Cup as a launching pad. We saw it with Indiana. We’ve seen it with other teams in the past. And you know, I’ve said it before, I covered the Raptors and Knicks game on uh for for for Tuesday. And I basically said the same thing about the Raptors. You know, there’s just a lot of young teams that maybe don’t have a chance at contending at a championship right away. And this NBA Cup gives them sort of that same kind of purpose, that same kind of feeling. Not to say that they that they don’t have a purpose to go for a title, but it feels more attainable in the short term. And I think that the Lakers, while they they’re still going for this NBA Cup and they’re still trying to win this whole thing, the Spurs could definitely use this as a launching pad to sort of take themselves, you know, and build some confidence throughout the throughout the course of the rest of the season. And I think four and a half, five points. I think it’s just too many. Like I said, these are two teams that have played a lot of close games, you know, as of late, you know, especially the Lakers. Yes, the Lakers, you know, been able to beat on inferior teams at home. But, I mean, you look at their last few games at home that they’ve been winning. They beat New Orleans, Dallas, the Clippers, all by double digits. They beat the Jazz by double digits. And that’s all well and good, but you know, they’ve also had games, you know, where they’ve been competitive. I mean, they had a a game at home against San Antonio. Granted, when the injury situation was a little bit different, but they only won that game by two points. So, for me, I think this is a game where the Spurs are going to be competitive. I think the points are going to come into play here. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Spurs won this game outright. I’m going to take the Spurs here plus the points. That is my free pick for this game.
