If you’re GM Khan, do you pick up the 5th year option on B Jones this offseason?

  1. Hard to say no. He’s trending the right way and we have other more pressing needs in the draft

  2. Yes. BROJO is young and took huge steps this year.

This is assuming they know anything about his neck injury. If they know it’s bad then of course they won’t pick it up.

  3. Yeah definitely, But you also pick someone up in the 3-5th round (if we have picks there) to compete with, Plus a low value vet.

He’s the weak link on the OL at this point, but hes actually been good after the first 2-3 weeks this year

  4. 100%, I suspect if he was allowed to play his actual position from the start this likely wouldn’t even be a question. We knew he was a really raw prospect with a very high ceiling.

  5. In a league where Dan Moore earns $20M on the open market, absolutely. Pick up the option, see how he looks with another year under his belt, and then see if he earns an extension.

  6. Tough call if he’s healthy, but neck injuries are bad news, and that one was season ending. We might have to find a tackle to take his spot *next year*.

  7. How’s his neck? That shit can wreck the progress of an athlete’s career, especially at a position that wears on the upper body.

  8. You try to resign him for a longer term contract at less than the option costs in my opinion. He’s moving the right direction but I imagine his option is pretty dang high

  9. No brainer. He’s improved, the o-line is coming together well. And you’re not going to find anyone close to that good at that price two years from now. Hell, Dan Moore got $20.5 million a year for 4 years, $50 million guarenteed, and he absolutely stinks. And that’s not just the Steelers’ fans opinion, it’s the Titans’ fans opinion.

  10. Be about 20million next year to do so. I think we do pick up his option unless we feel we can get something long term done with him this offseason. Ideally save some money

  11. Yes. Big yes. If he’s willing to the negotiate some extra years on the contract as well.

  12. Id wait until the last possible second to do so. Not because he doesn’t deserve it because he’s taking massive strides this year but because I’m ready to talk and extension. See if you would sign something like a three year extension in the 15 to 18 million dollar per range. Odds or he would say no to an extension bet on himself for another year to potentially earn more money, but no harm in talking an extension.

  13. more information is needed regarding his neck injury to throw 20+ million at him. other than that they probably should lock him and Frazier down as well.

  14. You pick him up and he’s over of the first people to actually get into scrums when dirty stuff goes down to protect the other guys as well.

  15. Honestly yes. Wasn’t a fan of him going into this yea and wasn’t necessary convinced he was the guy when he got hurt. But I feel like it’s noticeably worse in the pocket for Rodgers I couldn’t believe I missed jones. So I definitely think we should pick it up.

  16. Without a more question, barring medical. Anybody who says otherwise isn’t paying attention and vastly misunderstands the value of even an average LT.

  17. Don’t know what people are seeing, but he’s bad. Often looks like really poor technique and trying to coast on strength/athleticism, which probably worked in college but isn’t working in the NFL.

Having said that, T is one of the hardest positions to make the leap to in the NFL and often these guys don’t truly hit their potential until they are in their late 20s. I think if you invested a high pick in him, which they did, you might as well pick up the option. I would still draft a great T prospect if one fell into my lap next year, though.

  18. I would have to Say Yes, But only if he Healthy & neck can pass Tests given by a panel of DOCTORS!!

  19. Yes, because of the position not talent. Don’t need to be paying a dan Moore type player a dan Moore type contract
