New England Patriots Get GREAT NEWS Ahead Of NFL Week 15 Matchup vs. Buffalo Bills

[Music] Got some great news, Patriots fans. The by-week came at a well needed time. And going into this week, as we have the biggest game of the season, a t-shirt and a hat game against the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots are getting great news that they are getting healthier out of the by-week. Welcome in to Patriots Today by Chat Sports. I am your host, Brett Alper. Before we get to the great news coming out of the by-week, we got some even better news. Not this week, but next week. The Patriots are back in prime time. The NFL is flexing. Patriots versus Ravens and moving it to Sunday Night Football. So, Drake May right now, Matt Stafford is the favorite for MV MVP, but everybody in the world gets to see you in prime time against the Ravens. Show the world why you’re the MVP. And Patriots fans, let’s show all of YouTube that we are the truly best best Patriots YouTube channel and best YouTube channel out of all the AFC East teams. We’re in a sub battle right now with the Bills breakdown and host Tyler Smith. He’s on a little bit of a hot streak right now. His watch party against the Cincinnati Bengals did really good and he’s riding that hot streak. He was talking a little bit of trash to me. So I want to prove him wrong. Let’s have a sub battle. Let’s beat him down. Right now, we’re only down one. It’s very, very close. So, if you want daily Patriots videos, we will be live on Wednesday. Hit that sub button right now. Let’s get to the good news. And we heard Mike Frael talk about in his press conference on Monday that uh we should be seeing some people back at practice. And this comes from Mark Daniels, Jared Wilson, Kyus Tonga, Brennan Schooler have returned to practice. Tonga and Spain look limited. And the team is missing Harold Landry and Terrell Jennings to start the week. I will say with Harold Landry, it’s kind of I would say since it’s a Monday practice, he might be getting that rest day. And Terrell Jennings, we know he did suffer a concussion in that win against the New York Giants. It’s huge for the offensive line to get Jared Wilson back. there was a big big amount of concern that he was not going to be a part of this team going forward because literally 3 weeks ago against the Cincinnati Bengals he got carded off with an ankle injury and that was what one quarter into the game everybody thought that oh this is going to be a big big loss for Jared Wilson he is going to the locker room he was saw seen in a walking boot he was with crutches and it’s like this is great we’re going to lose him for multiple games but because of that by-week, he’s only missed one game and I’m expecting him to be back. And you can look at his stats. I mean, for a rookie, they’re not what you want them to fully be. But as a rookie coming out of Georgia and playing that left guard position, he has been serviceable for the time being. A pass blocking grade, we know we’re a primarily pass blocking team, almost a 60 PFF grade, a pass blocking, four sacks allowed, and three penalties. But I still don’t believe that’s four sacks. BFF has a weird way of giving credit to who got sacked and whatnot, but in his place was Ben Brown. And Ben Brown has played in multiple games this season because Jared Wilson also suffered an injury earlier this year, but he has played solid in his place. I know the PFF grades are going to look a lot better than Jared Wilson, but you also got to remember Jared Wilson has played in 11 games this year, and Ben Brown has only played in five and only started in two of them. 68.8 uh overall PFF grade. Pass blocking grade is worse than Jared Wilson, but the run blocking grade has been good and zero sacks allowed, three penalties. I’ll say it once again, getting Jared Wilson back would be huge last week against the Giants or two weeks ago at this point almost. He did not play and also Will Campbell did not play. But if you’re going to get your starter back and kind of get into that rhythm of, hey, we’re gonna get back into rhythm and go into the playoffs healthy, that’s all that matters. And this Sunday is the biggest game of the year. I don’t care what anybody says. We’re not thinking about it too much. This is the biggest game of the year. The Buffalo Bills have not have been have won the AFC East all the way back to 2019. They have had the total control of the division and this game right here is up for grabs for the AFC East. If the Patriots win, they lock up the division. They lock up a top four seed in the AFC. If you lose this game, then you keep them alive and keeping their hopes alive and now they’re riding the momentum because a lot of people think that number 17 Josh Allen is going to win out. And you see right there, Vegas thinks that they’re going to win too at home. Big big game. a must-win victory. Still not going to have Will Campbell on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. He is on IR. He is not going to be eligible to play until about week 18. But there is some positives for Will Campbell. And Doug Kide, he was in the locker room yesterday as the as the team was fully back after the bye-week. And we got some positive news. Doug Kai tweeted this out. rookie tack, left tackle Will Campbell was walking through the locker room with nothing on his knee. We know he suffered an MCL sprain in the win against the Bengals and everybody thought, well, he could be done for the year. But if he’s on he’s only on IR, he’s only going to miss four games and you could see nothing on his knee. Did eventually put a sleeve over his right leg, but I mean it’s just a compression sleeve. It’s nothing that big. But if he’s walking without a limp, he that means he’s progressing. But he’s not eligible to return until week 18. And if the Patriots win on Sunday, they have the division locked up. You’re still going for that one seed in the AFC, which are battling with the Denver Broncos, but you play the Miami Dolphins at home. And if Will Campbell is eligible to return, do you really want to put him in as the left tackle if he’s not completely ready? If you have the division locked up, not even the one seed, if you are guaranteed a number four spot in the AFC, if you are guaranteed a home game in the playoffs and you’re playing a just an average team with the Miami Dolphins, yeah, they’re on a hot streak. They’re six and seven now. Yeah, I’ll do the little thing for you guys. But I would sit Will Campbell one more week. Let him get another week healthier and get him ready for the playoffs. And if you have that number one buy, if you have that number one seed and the by-week, that means he gets another two weeks of rest. So, you got to keep winning. But I would rest Will Campbell if you have that division locked up by week 18. I’ll ask you guys, what would you guys do with Will Campbell week 18? If you have the division locked up, are you resting him or are you playing him? Give me an R for rest or give me a P for play. On the back half of the show, we’re going to talk about one major key against the Buffalo Bills that the Patriots need to address going into this game, and it involves the defense. But before we do that, I got to tell you about our sponsor of today’s show, and that is prize picks. The best time of the year for sports. It’s holiday season, people. Bowl games, basketball matchups, playoff pushets, it’s all happening at once. And while you and I are out here making decisions every day on what gifts to buy, what to eat, which game to watch, there is one place where it feels good to be right. Prize picks. Prize picks is simple to play. Just pick more or less on two to six player stat projections. And if your picks are right, you could cash in. Prize picks now is early payouts. If your lineup gets off to a hot start, you may now have the option to cash out those winnings before the game even finishes. And I made a lineup for this weekend’s game. I think Drake May is going to go off. 235 and a half passing yards. Give me the more on that one. Josh Allen, he’s been hot, too. Give me the more on his passing yards at 228 and a half. And Kahan Booty, it’s about time he comes back and has a breakout game. Give me the more on his receiving yards at 33 and a half. You can download the app today and make a lineup just like that. But you got to use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code cls to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks, it’s good to be right. All right, so the run defense needs to step up. It needs to be really much better. And throughout the first couple weeks of the season, you could see right here through weeks 1 through nine, 3.6 yards per carry. That was really good. But weeks 10 through 14, it has been really bad. 4.9. That is 1.3 extra yards per carry the last four games of the season. And why is that? Well, because you’re missing one of your best players. You’re missing the anchor of your defense. It comes without Milton Williams. And Milton Williams is right there in the center of the defense. And he is the anchor. And now that he’s missing, you saw it. Teams running right up the middle. What? Jace Brown went off against the against the Giants. A bunch of players were running. It’s all over them. They have missed Milton Williams like crazy. And this week, you’re going up against one of the top running backs in football, James Cook. And against the Patriots back in week five of the season, when you played him on Sunday Night Football, he didn’t do 15 carries, 49 yards, and 3.3 yards per carry. But other than that, James Cook has been absolutely incredible. I mean, I could just read it for you guys. The last couple of games against Houston, he had 116. against Pittsburgh. He had 144 yards. But you are getting back one player in particular on this defensive front that has missed the last two games and that’s Kyus Tonga. And I’ll show you guys another tweet from Evan Lazar. You could see him talking about the B coming back from the bye-week. Kyus Tonga was the number one guy he said. Yeah, Jared Wilson and Brennan Schooler and also but and also Harold Landry and Terrell Jennings which we’ve already covered. But if Kyus Tonga can play, which we did not see him, he got hurt in that Bengals game and he did not play against the New York Giants. If he can come back and play in this game, that is a huge step up, a huge addition for the Patriots cuz he had his breakout game of the season against the Bills back in week five on Sunday Night Football. Yeah, two tackles is not a lot, but when you’re a defensive tackle, we talk about all the time, it does not matter. two stops, a PFF grade of 77.2 and the run blocking grade of 74.6. Cory Deran, I love you, but you are not Kyus Tonga and Kyus Tonga is that perfect backup to at least be serviceable while Milton Williams. Look, I’m not going to say that you’re going to stop James Cook as well as you did back in the first game. But if Kyus Tonga can at least just kind of stop him a little bit and hold him to under 100 yards, you have a good chance to win. But all of it doesn’t matter if you uh can’t stop this guy right here who’s playing at an MVP level. The p his past five games have been incredible. He looked amazing against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. And uh they’re determined. They are absolutely determined to try and get this AFC East division. And the Patriots, they have to step up. We have to step up and stop Josh Allen. You were able to stop Josh Allen back earlier in the season. Can you do it a second time at home? If you do that, nothing else matters. And you’re gonna lock up the AFC East. You’re going to lock up the AFC East. And we’ll probably give away a t-shirt if they do. At least I I want to. So, we’re going to make it happen. But who you got, Patriots or the Buffalo Bills? Type your NE in the chat for the Patriots or type your BUFFs if you’re one of those lone Buffalo Bills fans in the chat. We’ll be live for the watch party on Sunday at 12 Eastern time. will also be live tomorrow at about 5 to 5:30 Eastern. So, make sure you hit that sub button so you don’t miss out. And as always, let’s go back. [Music]

  1. Pats have played 9 -500 teams , they are 8-1 and only 4 by one score, 4 blow out and a loss. They won 4 games against + 500 teams , they are 3-1 , 2 by one score, one blow out and a loss. By the numbers, they are weak and overrated. Pats need this win to be legit.

  2. Patriots are going to have a great game against a good Bills team. And this will finally allow Pats to get less of the who have you played BS in media.
Mike Vrable is Coach of the Year! And if I had to choose between MVP or SB MVP. I take the SB MVP any day.

  3. Yes if Campbell is healthy get him in against Dolphins. Maybe not have him go full whole game but start get him footing but do bring in Lowe to get reps too. You don't want to bring Campbell back start after sitting into playoffs

  4. NE! I've been a loyal Pats fan since they picked up Grogan back in the day. I remember going with my dad on Sundays to check out the construction site as they built Foxboro Stadium. We lived in the next town over.

The 85/86 Super Bowl was a real low point for me, but at least we beat the dolphins in the conference finals … squish the fish!

My dad passed in '98 just before the golden era began for the Pats and just before the curse was finally lifted for the Sox.

I'm sure he was pulling some strings from on high these past 25 years. The dynasty was worth the wait, just wish he could have seen it in person.

Everyone said it would be another decade or three before we got game again, but I love RKK. He's done it again. Hiring Vrab's was the perfect call. He and Drake and a great crop of rookies can bring on the dynasty, part II. And Josh didn't really want to be a head coach. He's right back where he belongs.

    Go Pats!

  5. Time to lose the game to Buff. so they can get more focus into playoffs. By losing this week, Pats will be better and hunger on the primetime vs the Ravens. Who cares the seeding? Do your job as Pats would do. They will rise again.
