Depleted Washington Wizards EMBARASSED by Celtics | Is This the Worst Defense Ever?

Wins and losses are not important for this Washington Wizards team this year, but they did say they wanted to compete, especially on the defensive side of the basketball. Tonight might have been their most embarrassing effort from that realm. This might be the worst defense ever. We tackle that today here on Locked on Wizards. And alongside the DC sports content creating Savan Abdullah Yububi, I’m Ben Strober and I cover the Wizards for Round Table IO. 146 to 101. The Wizards lose by 45 tonight here at home at Capital One Arena. The Celtics obviously without Jason Tatum also without Jaylen Brown. Uh did not matter. The Wizards nearly give up a season high uh in points with 146. Boston shoots 42% from behind the arc, 20 of 47 from the field. AB, this definitely was one of the worst games for the Wizards this year by far. And it’s kind of interesting that maybe the two worst Wizards game this year have been against the Celtics. Yeah, and like you mentioned on a night with no Jason Tatum and no Jaylen Brown, it makes you really wonder, Ben, how many points they would have given up if both those guys were out there playing. Lots of greening Capital One Celtics fandom. They they rock hard for their team and rightfully so. I mean, Payton Pritchard, Derek White. I’ll say one thing for sure, man. The Celtics are probably the most ballest team in the NBA ever. like you got four or five dudes on the team that just didn’t want me here that just like that just watching that the whole game outside of the Wizards getting blown out that was one thing that I pay attention to but Jir Watkins getting the start Ben I will say though I was kind of shocked by that I understand this Wizards team know with a lot of these injuries with Gloulali Alex Sar Cory Kiss of the lineup I was surprised that Cory Cam Whitmore didn’t get the nod at the starting lineup and that’s probably something we’re going to talk about but again Ben 146 101 where’s the competitive spirit that we were given to or advertised going into this season. This team was supposed to be competitive and on a night where they didn’t have their number one or number two option, you give up 45 you get blown up by 45 points at home. I just don’t I just don’t get it. It was a seven-point game at halftime and I think for the fourth time this season the Wizards have given up 80 points and a half in that second half. They are outscored 43 to 27 in the third quarter 37 to 15 in the fourth. The effort dwindled as the game went on. I mean it gets to a point where it is just a little bit embarrassing in terms of the product they put out there defensively. Yes, you’re without Alex Sar, you’re without Bal Koulali. Injuries aside, it was not there. And the Wizards did try to go to a different look as you said mentioned. Jir Watkins had only played 33 minutes total in his NBA career. He gets the start today. Maybe that was because they wanted to give him give them the Wizards a different look defensively out there. Uh didn’t make much of a difference. Jordan Walsh for Boston today. 22 points on a perfect eight of eight from the field. He got whatever he wanted. Derek White puts up 30 on 12 of 21 shooting five of 12 beyond the arc. Pton Pritchard with 20. Uh Kada with 17. Annfrey Simons with 16 as well. It was bad. It was really bad defensively. The rotations were not there. They were getting beat in transition often. And a big reason why was because of the way the Wizards play offense as well. But I want to ask you the question right now, Abdul. Because as it stands, Washington’s defensive rating at 123.5 defensive rating entering this game, so probably drops even more from there, is on pace for the worst in NBA history. And it begs the question, is this defense the worst in NBA history tonight? It sure looked like it a possibility. I mean, again, Matt, I just like I I don’t know what to say. Like, you can’t really blame it on coaching because there’s only so much coaching that can be put out there. Maybe you can rotation and lineups, but just the lack of closing out, the lack of getting those 50/50 balls and just the Celtics like collapsing that collapsing Celtics defense, which they’re known for. It just it makes you do wonder like not having a point guard, a pure point guard on this roster. It showed again tonight where it was just like the turnovers and the the the shots where it’s just like there’s no it’s not you’re not getting anywhere with it. And I just I I’m running out of words to say because I just don’t know how to describe this defense without being too harsh. Ben, let’s be real. It’s just 146 points. I’ll say it one more time. Without the opposing team’s best two players, I it’s just it gets to a point where you’re just like you’re just looking and you’re not really showing any emotion. It’s just crazy that the big cell was that the team would compete defensively this year. And I know the team isn’t really interested in winning a lot of games. I understand that. I agree with that philosophy because it’s going to be so so important that this team picks in the top of this draft. And I think that point has further been reiterated with just how bad they’ve been, how important it’s going to be that they land a superstar caliber player in this draft because I think they’re further away right now than than maybe I thought earlier this season because the product they’re putting out there, unless you get one of these superstars in the draft and seriously retool some things in terms of adding a point guard to your roster, uh I can’t see them being a whole lot better next year than they currently are constructed right now. And a lot of things could happen in the offseason. Things could definitely change. But the mentality we’ve seen, the way they play defense, the way they’ve competed in this game, it’s not translating to building culture, to being remotely close to playing winning basketball right now. 58 points in the paint for Boston tonight. A huge problem. 25 second chance points, 29 fast break points. Uh the Wizards turn it over 18 times tonight. Boston was able to run out in transition, seemingly getting whatever they wanted. There’s so many glaring issues with the defense right now that I can’t even pinpoint one direct thing as the issue because it’s just everything. And the way Boston moved the ball had Washington running in circles all night long. And I feel like in a way they’ve set the standard for how the Wizards or other teams should move the basketball because the Wizards, they kind of look like they’re playing pickup basketball out there. And that’s the vibe I got from it tonight. Boston completely outclassed this team. Wizards outplayed, out coached, everything. This is probably the worst performance of the season, I’d have to say, right now. 45 points, uh, you lose by here at home and star player for Boston, two star players, not even playing it. It It’s pretty bad. And it’s, you know, it just goes to show you it’s been that type of season. Yeah, you won two games uh in the last week, but reality will will hit you very hard. This is a very, very bad basketball team. Obviously, they want to lose plenty of games. They want to have a top pick in this draft for sure. They don’t want to lose their first round pick. We all know that. Uh but this product that’s being put on the floor is some of the worst I’ve seen for sure. And again, Ben, you look at this effort tonight. You’d think this is the first year of a rebuild. We’re in year three. This is we were we were promised competitiveness. We were promised a good defensive team or at least a better defensive team compared to last year. And I really want to look at the stats, man. These these years of rebuild, how this team looks defensively. And you mentioned that this team right now could go down as one of the worst defenses in NBA history and it just it’s just it just it really does get to a point and I I don’t know like this this tonight was a step back when you’re trying to build a a a competitive culture or just a culture just goes out there and plays hard. We didn’t see any of that tonight. And again, it was nice to see Will Riley play Ben. He was he showed some flashes early on. But it was nice to see also Tristan Vuvich do his best Magic Johnson impression with the behind the head pass to Riley at the corner for three. And outside of that, there just really wasn’t any flashes. And like you mentioned, Boston was playing really fast. They were running circles around this Wizards defense. I there was a player late in the fourth where Anthony Simons just went from wing to wing, dribbled out the clock, and just shot a three and made it. I mean, he was he was everyone from the Celtics were lighting it up. Payton Pritchard so shifty. Luca Garza got into the mix as well. It just it’s nights like this where you really look at yourself in the mirror as a Wizards fan just think I have to be patient. Remember the end goal is to not win a lot of games. But also the flip side of that is we were promised to be competitive and it just wasn’t the case tonight. It hasn’t really happened outside of those couple of occasions. And I said it on the podcast when they were competitive against Chicago and then they won against Atlanta, they won against Milwaukee. I said, “Understand this that those type of performances have been an outlier for this team this year. They haven’t been remotely close in so many of these games. They I don’t know how many it’s been this point. I’d have to update it and and look at all the box scores to double check it, but I think we’ve lost by double digits the most in the NBA. I’m pretty sure that’s still the case.” And I’d have to double check and see exactly what that number’s at now. But seemingly whenever this team does find itself losing, it’s typically in blowout fashion. And tonight is just one of the most gutless, heartless performances I’d seen, especially in that second half. And it’s weird because it seemed to get away from them a little bit. Uh 19 to6 run in the second quarter, or rather that was the Wizards that went on a 19-6 run to get back into the game. Justin Champeni kind of sparked that. He threw one down on Derek White. You go, “Okay, this team’s showing a little bit a little bit of fight, a little bit of heart tonight in this game.” I like to see that. And that completely disappeared. It’s like everybody just left the game at halftime essentially and this halfcourt style of offense the Wizards play is it’s just abysmal right now. It’s just really really that bad. Uh I’m going to detail that more in the second segment. AB let’s get your final thoughts here on the uh the loss overall on the defense maybe being one of the worst in NBA history. Justin Champeny Ben poster today and you 9.7 rebounds, one assist, one steal 15 minutes. I just I don’t get it. He didn’t get into the game until late in the second quarter. Why? This Celtics team is out there scoring a lot. Throw him out there. I I I just don’t get it. And Cam Wilmore only getting 18 minutes. I was I’ll say one more time. I was very very shocked that he didn’t get the starting nod tonight because I understand Jir Watkins is a rookie and you drafted him for defensive purposes, but I think Ken Wor has proven that he’s really good offensively at least to go out there and start when you don’t have Bal, you don’t have Cory Kisper. Again, this goes back to coach Keef and just scratching your head at some of these rotation lineups. I know we’re going to do let it all out in the third. I want to put this one up from our guy Whiz Kid forever. Big listener to the channel, Whiz Kid for Forever. Appreciate you for watching every single one. Remember, our best players are injured. Well, yeah, below our best defensive players injured. I wouldn’t say he’s our best overall player because the offense production is not too great from him. Uh Alex Sar being out, he’s been the best player for the Wizards this year. That’s very true. But Boston is without its two best players. This is not like a a team Boston that you just lost by 45 to at home. And yes, they’re more talented than the Wizards is currently constructed. Even with their backup players right now, they still do have a a plethora of talent on that team that is better than ours. But our best players being out is not an excuse to lose by 45 at home and play defense the way they did tonight. I’ll just going to leave it at that. Um just a little food for thought. All right, let’s take our first break. When we come back, I want to talk about the Wizards half court offense and why I think it was just very bad tonight. I’m trying to find ways to like just just do things different. The NBA season is heating up and Door Dash has found the perfect way to keep fans in their bag all season long. Could have been worse, I guess, for Washington, 32% from three. But the way they play in these half court sets just does not make any sense in terms of translating to a competitive style of basketball. There’s way too much isolation. The love, the sugar is not being shared. You got 35 total field goals, 21 of those assisted. Boston tonight, I feel like set the standard the way they swung the basketball around. 35 assists for Boston tonight. So many possessions will just end up in a dribble handoff or an isolation attempt for CJ McComem or name your name your wizard on offense. Chris Middleton. Um Chris Middleton. Somebody isolates and then a shot goes up. The ball isn’t swung around. We were so bad defensively tonight because Boston had us moving all over the place defensively. Boston swings the ball around. Everybody touches it almost every possession. It keeps moving. It moves fast. And when it keeps on spinning, everybody has to rotate. The Wizards don’t force any defenses to really have to adjust to what they’re doing. It’s way too easy to defend what they’re doing. And the reason for that is because they don’t have a true point guard on this roster. It makes it really difficult for guys to develop offensively. And there’s been some bright spots in terms of development with Alex R who uh hopefully you get back into the fold on Saturday. We’ll have to see uh about that. Keshan George was decent tonight. Five of seven from the field, not entirely assertive, but four turnovers as well because he’s been in this ball dominant role where he’s had to essentially isolate so much to try to make plays for other people. It makes it really difficult for this Wizards team to get in any type of rhythm offensively. And Boston, you can just tell that they’re not having to work that hard to stop this Wizards team. And like you mentioned with the lack of ball moving, the Celtics team defensively just didn’t have to do much. and they were beating you running running wise. I mean, the fast break points clearly Boston was just going out there and just there were so many points where or a couple of times where I saw the Celtics or the Wizards didn’t get back on defense. Celtics had an easy layup or a dunk and I just it goes back to coaching Joe Mazul and that staff. They just know how to breed winning basketball even when you don’t have your number one number two option out there. And for the Whiz, Ben, I just as much as we want to point to point guard, not having a pure point guard, like again with not having a pure point guard, not only does it alter your offense and just makes make limit your opportunities that you get, but this the development, it hinders the development of a lot of these young guys where Keshan Dors, as much as we love to see him out there being a point forward, let’s see what he can do with catch and shoot. And he also has to go out there and play defense. Will Riley, the idea of him being experimented at the point guard position, he had some nice passes today. I saw that I liked. Why not go out there and try it out? I I think what we saw with Bob Carrington, the experience of playing him at point, it’s hasn’t been looking good and I just don’t think it’s the answer and that’s something that’s probably done in the book that we don’t talk about anymore. But on a night where Ben where CJ McCullum and Chris Mo are your leading scorers, I just I don’t like that just the because of the fact that this those two guys aren’t going to be cornerstone players for this franchise. If we’re get blown if we get blown out by 40 points at home, at least the silver lining would be seeing your young guys score a lot of or be the top two leading scorers tonight. That just wasn’t the case. And again, I understand injury, but man, it’s tough. It’s really tough. CJ Mcome leading this team in minutes right now. He played 31 to lead the team tonight. Uh we got some quotes actually coming in from the press conference. Shout out to our guy Bejian Todd. Monumental Sports uh just posted this quote here from Brian Keefe. I didn’t see our identity of how we play basketball and that’s not acceptable. These losses you should be upset with. We should all be upset. So, you use this as fuel. And I think Keith does hit it on the head right there because he he reiterates how a lot of us are feeling right now. We’re upset. We’re very upset with the performance. We’re upset with the majority of the performances we’ve seen this season because the team has not shown any resemblance of competing. They haven’t played defense on the majority of nights. You’re giving up 130 every single night. It felt like the team kind of quit in the second half of this game. And I’m not going to definitively say those guys were out there not trying in the second half, but that’s kind of the way it felt. And when you give up 80 points and only score whatever it was, 37 40 points points in in the whole second half. Really like an effort there, albeit the injuries. Like that’s not an excuse for playing that poorly. This was one of the worst losses of the season for sure. uh in Keith’s words will reiterate that point. Yeah. And you’re playing Atlanta on Saturday. Hopefully Alex Sar comes back because again you can’t have another performance like this Ben where backtoback games where you’re getting blown out by 40 points. This is a Hawks team that you beat. You did have Cory Kissper that game. You did have Alex Sar and Bal. But they got to figure something out. And I like this Ben. It would have been nice to see AJ Johnson playing. I know he got assigned to the capital city go, but it’s just like the silver lining is seeing the young guys at least go out there and produce. And tonight just seeing Chris Middleton and CJ McCome which I understand their trade value eventually you’re going to ship them off. We’ve seen that from Will Dawkins or what he wants to do the plan. But I think part of the plan should also develop your young talent and it’s just tough. It really is tough, man. I’m trying my best not to rant because I hate I hate doing it. But I I was just funny because like I thought this is a game where you be competitive at least because you come off a win against the Bucks, you lose Philly, you come back and say, “Hey, let’s see if we can win games where we’re close. We have three wins on the season tonight.” It just wasn’t the case. Honestly, I’m over it. It it it really feels like beating a dead horse at this point, night in night out, talking about how poor the defense is and how lackluster offensively they look because they don’t have a point guard. All right, I’m over this. Let’s get to Let It All Out next year on Lockdown Wizards. NFL Sundays move fast. One big play and suddenly everything feels different. Thank you for liking, commenting, subscribing to Lockdown Wizards. 40 exclamation point. Lots of them. Lost by 40 to the Celtics B team. I wrote this at 9:12 p.m. These dudes is making me sad emoji. Yeah, I I I I can’t put it into other words. Like again, I don’t want to be a dead horse and talk about how putrid defensive we are and the lack of ball movement, but we saw it tonight without the Celtics having JB or JT playing. Mr. Bond V2 says, “That’s it. We really need a point guard as soon as possible.” I mean, who who would who would have thought of that, Ben? You figure with that type of performance and many games before early on the season, you’d think that this young squad needs someone that can lead the floor. Lonz FZ2323 says they usually don’t play like this. I don’t know if you’re referring to the Celtics. I don’t know if you’re referring to the Wizards, but I mean, what do you think, man? They usually don’t play like this. I think we play like this a lot. I don’t know if you’re trying to sick, but that’s the Celtics are playing good basketball recently. I I will give the Celtics credit and I’ll I’ll give them credit overall because the Celtics played like a legitimate basketball team tonight. They played well. They look like a team that can make a little bit of noise in the Eastern Conference. I don’t think they can do a whole lot because of the injuries they have to their team right now. Um but maybe get Jaylen Brown back into the fold. Who knows? I don’t know if Tatum’s going to try to make his way back for the postseason or not. But if that Boston team gets in and they somehow can get Tatum back, then all bets are off. They they could be out there making a run again with how the East looks this year. They looked like a team that was competent. They move the ball well. They’re well coached. They’re well coached. Joe Mazula knows exactly what he’s doing, he gets the most out of his teams. That’s why they’re playing well right now. The only way they make it to the finals is if for every every game up until the playoffs, even in the playoffs as well, you play the Wizards. Then I can see them making the finals and potentially winning it. But that’s not the case. Fem says, “We’re supposed to lose DNW. I understand that and trust me, we we know that me and Ben out of all people in this building understand know that this team is not going to win a lot of games. However, however, losing games for losing a game by 45 points again, and I’ll say it again, without their the opposing team having their best two players, how can you be positive about that? I like how you said o there last STR8. Thank you, said y’all wanted Watkins to play well, lol. To be honest, man, I’m not saying I didn’t want him to start, but I’m still a Ken Whitmore guy. Jeremy Watkins, I would love to see him get minutes, especially if the team can’t stop anyone defensively. Like, I saw it took Go ahead. Go ahead. He He started the game, but only played 18 minutes, so it’s not like he played that much. That’s true. You know, I I don’t get that either, but Go ahead. Go ahead, Amy. Sorry, man. I logged out. I My computer is lagging. in the Capital One Arena Wi-Fi just nothing going well right now. Wizard CJ and Chris need to be bought out and let free to go somewhere else and be a bench roll player. I mean I honestly Ben from game one to game 80 what are we game 21 22 whatever we are in I think we’re 21 now 20 21 I think y the the they’re both both both their trade values going up especially after CJ’s had like 40 two 40 point game performances and Middleton like he’ll give you 15 or 20 points a game but again I talk about how I’d rather see the young guys go out there and ball out. Why do you think CJ McCullum is playing 29.7 minutes while he’s shooting only 43.6%? 6%. I I I I don’t know. I don’t know. Whisk it forever also says it’s really depressing getting to the point where you can’t tell who we keep and who to let go. George has to got has got to learn to play without fouling. Teams confidence is slowly eroding. I agree on the point where Keshan George needs to understand how to play defense without fouling. That comes with this aggressive nature. team’s confidence. Games like this, it definitely derails your confidence because again, you’re going up against the Celtics B team. And I understand you don’t have a lot of your main players, Balak Koulali, who is very good defensively, Alex Sar, who’s arguably your best player on this team right now outside of Keshan George, but that’s just no excuse to go out there and lose by 45 points at home. Felt like a Celtics home game with the amount of green that we saw today. Ben, I thought it was I Chuck Best 3780 says he’s horrible floor role model. He needs to let go where the way he plays he needed which is nowhere. I’m assuming he’s talking about one of the vets. I don’t know. They let the Celtics play two-on-one defense all dang night. I know middle I know McCollum has to go. Why Will Riley didn’t start or Cam? Why is Vuke Cam and Bub on the floor at the same time? What the heck was that? Kevin Colbert 8377 says, “Why would you start Jir Watkins? It’s now time for the coach to be relieved of his duties. This was a travesty. Someone says experimental lineups. Oh, here we go. FS. No, locked on log, man. That’s the biggest shocker of the night. Yo, my brother locked on log couldn’t even bother getting in the chat today. Yo, my brother, he’ll comment later at like 5:00 a.m. Yo, my brother runs to turn the game off after the third. 10986. Boston smashed three jokers without Jaylen Brown. Boston smashed these jokers without Jaylen Brown. Players open all freaking game. Pate mid-range trip was ridiculous. You name it. That was the theme of the game. When you give up 146 points, they’ll score in all different types of fashion. No point guard, no offensive direction, no hard. Justin Champen is the best player overall on the team. I love that putback dunked or the the poster that he had. It was a def defense led to offense. He got the steel and just dunked on Derek White. Whisk it forever also says remember our best players are injured. Like I know we we we talked about this comment earlier, but again that’s just no excuse to lose by this many points. So are the Celtics best players? That’s not an excuse. B teams are much better than this Wizards culture. Lots of comments, man. I’m trying to see. Lockdown law was here earlier. McCullum is a problem for Keshan Balo. I feel like once he’s gone, both would develop big. Maybe we’ll see them second half of the season. They were not giving the ball to Riley. Will Riley been? I think obviously I’d love to see him put up really good performances in the G-League, but for now, especially when you don’t have Cory or Bal out there, I would love to see him get more minutes. Let’s let’s keep seeing him get more. I think I I’ve liked the energy that he’s brought out there. I think Riley is a guy that can make an impact on this team, even though it’s going to take time for him to really show his true ability. Um, you know, probably a negative out there in terms of a defense right now, but your defense already stinks anyway. You already are one of the worst defenses ever. Like, why don’t you just let Will Riley at least go out there and try to figure it out? Will Riley can at least handle the basketball. And Keith in the pregame press conference uh preached how his IQ and his his tenacity is one of the better aspects of his game already at his very very young age at 19 years old. Give him the minutes to show for it. Give him a chance to develop. That’s that’s all I really got for that. Yeah. Oh, here we go. Ben Dispo 11110 says, “How about former wizard former wizard CP3? I I I again for a mentor I just to me it just wouldn’t make any sense he’ll be I don’t think Chris Paul even wants to come to DC at this point. No, he he was a Wizards legend for like what like five days. Five days. It was a good five days. Chuck also says CP3 would get Keith fired in three games. Devon Dan Mus one I can’t read right now. These schemes on offense and defense are direct lack of coaching. Again, I don’t know how much you can point the finger towards coaching or just the lack of having really good talent and just the fact that this is a rebuilding team. I think it’s just it’s a recipe for disaster when you don’t have your best players out there defensively and offensively. And when you can’t play defense in general, even when they were on the floor, you’re going to get blown out. And 146 points, Ben, can you talk about it, Ben? So, right now, we give up, I think, 120. You said the defensive rating is one of the worst right now in NBA history. It is the worst. Oh, the wor. Okay, there we go. The worst. It is the worst right now. Will they sustain that throughout the majority of the year? Like, probably. So, they probably will end up being the worst defense in terms of rating ever. Yeah, it’s not good. Not Not ideal. Not ideal. That’s That’s Lisa. I mean, I’m just I’m I’m over it. I’m kind of over it at this point. I don’t want to say I really don’t there’s not much else to say when you lose by 45. And I’ll just leave it at that, honestly. Um, Wizards fans, if you’re out here every day watching this channel, we appreciate you that much more. 29 people in here right now. Shout out to you. We want to thank everyone for making Lockdown Wizards your first listen every single day. For your second, check out the locked NBA fantasy basketball podcast hosted by Josh Lloyd. He’ll get your lineup right. For my co-host Abdullah Yubie, I’m Ben Shber DC family. Stay in the fight.

The Wizards were embarrassed at home by the Boston Celtics, who did whatever they wanted all night. The defense continues to be on pace for the worst in NBA history. Is this truly the worst defense ever? We break it all down.

  1. We are Badly coached!! Zero effort! Defense is absolutely Awful! We can’t guard the 3. We can’t lose to a bunch of backups like that. Go ahead and fire Keefe now so we can get a head start for our next coach

  2. Fuck this stupid coach I’m so tired of saying it. An injured Celtics team. Same shit without change. I’m not saying firing Keefe would fix the shit show but man what in the living fuck is he saying in those locker room meetings

  3. I havent been commenting lately but something has to give, i/ we understand the rebuild and the wanting to retain our pick but playing with some RESPECT is what we need. Its bot but so many time you can get popped in the mouth before you fight back SMH

  4. Winger & Dawkins haven’t gotten this franchise close to being even decent. I hate to see our young talent being wasted here and in the name of drafting new young talent to waste

  5. If these teenage millionaires want to "develop" how about grab a damn rebound, play better defense and dive on the damn floor. If they give up forty in a quarter they should have to run

  6. Great show, boys. Unlike the Wizards your content improves every game. What is Brian Keefe doing? I don’t see any improvement on defense at all. A lot of it is basic stuff and the team wanting it more. Keefe is not leading them. The minutes don’t make sense. If Sarr is not out there, why not put Vukcevic and Bagley out there for at least 10 minutes at the same time? Also, once again Bub Carrington needs LESS minutes. He’s shooting 2 for 9 every single game. He’s – 209 I believe. Can he go to the Gogo for a stint and get his confidence back? So frustrating. Keep up the great job!

  8. Abdullah, you’re so classy. I’m running out of polite words for the defense too. Yuck.

You both have everything right here, as usual. Ben’s point about failing to build culture is excellent too.

  9. This is mostly defensive sheme. We had Wes, Keefe and many players and it’s always the same. We have good defensive players individually like Bilal, Keyshawn, Sarr, Champagnie, Watkins it can’t just be all on miscommunication. Stop switching and guard who’s in front of you. Change the scheme or find a coaching staff that knows how to have a scheme that works in this modern day NBA. I blame the players also, but the coaches keep saying they preaching defense, but it never happens
