Ducks’ Beckett Sennecke Beats Third-Period Buzzer To Score Tying Goal vs. Penguins

There goes Huso. Lift it out to the neutral zone. And in come the Ducks. One last chance. Senica stick checked by Russ. Makes the move to the net. Who’s in front? They score. Did they beat the buzzer? Senica put it through. It crossed the goal line. But the question is, did it do so before all zeros? I think it did by first blush. But I wanted to just scream from up here. Just tackle him. Just jump on him. And here’s the clock ticking down as they throw it back door. And where’s the P? Oh boy, this is going to be close. Closer than I thought. And does this go off of Eric Carlson and into the goal? It looks like it does. On the ice is a goal. So Justin Key with the announcement. It is a goal. And unbelievably short-handed with the goalender pulled. The Ducks have seemingly tied this game with his right glove, scrambling to get back. And yes, this is a goal. This is unbelievable. This is unbelievable. with 0.1 one/10enth of a second an own goal and we are going to overtime. Wow. It has been an unfortunate wart in the Penguins game this season having some of these instances happen. It just happened in Dallas on Sunday. Another announcement. Let’s call the ice is still a goal. There’s the official ruling. One10enth of a second put on the clock. [Applause] It almost makes you sick to your stomach. But you know what? Dust yourself off. [Music]

Watch as Anaheim Ducks forward Beckett Sennecke is credited with the game-tying goal in the dying seconds of regulation after his attempt at the net was deflected in by defenceman Erik Karlsson.

  1. The amount of ridiculous is staggering. Sennecke kinda deked through two defenders by accident, Erik Karlsson puts it in his own net with his glove with 0.1 remaining and the Penguins goal horn sounded.

  2. Nothing worse than a biased commentator who lets it cloud his love of the game! The Pittsburgh comms when the Ducks scored with 0.1 secs left in a quite remarkable ending said "It makes you sick to your stomach!" The best NHL comms may support a team, but let their enjoyment shine!
