Lot of talk about him not having a 300 yard game. Yet, #2nd in the NFL.

  1. Feels like just about every QB has had a game with less than 200 passing yards this season but Maye so far.

  2. Prescott: 484 attempts

    Maye: 386 attempts

    Mahomes: 474 attempts

    Stafford: 432 attemps

    Goff: 412 attempts

Maye is so much better its not even close

  3. That’s what happens when the other team doesn’t have a good offense and you’re playing time control in the 4th quarter almost every game.

  4. Holy shit, hes got like 1½-2 games worth of less passing attempts than the rest of them and still #2 in passing yards?

    Wtf is this guy?

  5. Game milestones like 300 yards are just interesting and convenient markers. Nothing sacred about the number. I’m much more interested to know if a passer was in the ballpark of that number rather than hearing a yes/no answer for whether they passed for 300 yards.

  6. To me it doesn’t mean anything anymore. The game is just different now. Remember when 400 yard games used to be somewhat common on a week-to-week basis?

  7. Prescott has CD and Pickens, Stafford has Puka and Adams, Goff has ASB and Gibbs, Mahomes really only has Rice but still. Maye has the worst (still really good) weapons by far out of the top 5.

  8. Total passing yards doesn’t mean all that much, nor does 300 yard passing games. What matters is efficiency and consistency, how good you are at converting on 3rd down, and do you operate the offense at a high level and do it every single game. Dak has a ton of passing yards because the defense sucks and they’ve played from behind most of the year.

Nobody has been close to Drake’s efficiency and consistency this season. Drake’s bad games this year are hovering around 55-60% completion percentage, 250 yards, 2 TD’s and 1 int….that is the bar he has established. That’s a relatively poor game from him and it’s very good game for most QB’s in the league. He’s been unreal

  9. Really he hasn’t needed to have one but something tells me when they need to air it out they can

  10. consistency over peaking and dropping gets you far. as well as the fact that his efficiency metrics are off the chart and he’s not ever really playing from behind which is crazy considering he could have far better stats than his already great ones

  11. Sanders got a 300yd game in his 1st start. I was so pissed he did that before Drake did. But the difference is the Browns lost and we haven’t. The Browns are still The Browns.

  12. I talk about it because it’s just kinda insane that he has that many yards without a 300 yard game

  13. But I was told Maye was only up that high because of the extra game and once he had his bye week he’d be lucky to be in the top 15… Morons. You could just see by the attempts how efficient and how much of a deep thrower Maye has been.

  14. I feel like Maye could get 300 if he wanted to, it seems like he and the offense are great in the first half and then once they have the lead at half they sorta go quiet most of the second half. If they let Drake just yeet the fuck out of it the entire second half he could get well over 300

  15. Pro tip: You dont need to have 300 yards in a game if you’re up by multiple possessions in the second half every game.

  16. I think the lack of 300 yard games is overblown as a reason Maye won’t win the MVP. His bigger problem is a relatively less impressive TD-INT number.

  17. Imagine being in such control of the game that you don’t have to throw for 100 extra yards in the last 5 min.

  18. It is the nature of their games this year, they haven’t had to storm back from two scores down in the second half, or have a bunch of garbage time when throwing is the only option. 50+ attempts isn’t usually the sign of winning football.
