We're playing the Ducks on Thursday. One of the best teams in the league. Our guys are hot right now, and the tickets start at $21 on resale.
Go. Watch them. Please.

Heck, I’d kill to be able to go. If I lived close, I’d be there as often as I could afford.
I live a 20 minute drive from the arena. I had to give up my modest top deck season tix I had for years to try and save for my wedding. This past week I’ve been diagnosed with cancer and I’m afraid I won’t be able to go to a game in what has been an unexpectedly great season so far.
Deepwater40 nails it.
It’s a conundrum because 7pm games are kid friendly (get home, in bed) but they are awful for everyone else. At least with the Coliseum it was a midpoint for fans whether they lived in Riverhead or Brooklyn Heights.
7:35-7:45 is going to be your best bet. No matter what though, a subset of the casual or moderate income fans with inflexible commutes are going to struggle to attend more than a few games a season.
Everyone commenting about how empty it looks meanwhile they are the people sitting at home. Can’t comment if you don’t go sorry, keep making excuses.
It’s incredibly expensive to go often. Maybe if they lowered the price of parking and concessions I’d be more obligated. I miss going to the barn and parking at Hofstra
Live in Virginia. Still try to hit two games a year but it’s an expensive endeavor!
You know Christmas is coming up so for a lot of people? Some people don’t have infinite money and have to budget.
$40 for parking ? $15 for a hotdog? Even if I wanted a $21 nosebleed, I’m almost $100 in the hole
In my defense, I live kinda far. I was planning on going Saturday but something came up and I’m not happy about it.
I was going to 5 games a season before I moved out of the NYC area 🙁 (I’ll be back)
Every time I go to UBS it costs at least 100 dollars. Parking is 40, hot dog is 15, train ticket is 20. It’s been a chore mixing and matching ways to save to try to make the experience worth it these past few years when we were rooting for competence. It’s going to take a bit more sustained success for the playoff momentum to fill the place up
I try to go to games all the time but my friends are Rangers fans. Which is weird because I’m a Yankees fan and all my friends are Mets fans. I live in the city and would gladly make the trek any day of the week to go, except this week I’m in Italy …
the arena is an absolute disaster with where it is located and the pain in the ass to get to the building with the 15 minute walk or taking the shuttle, the fact attendance is already an issue with how good this team is playing and the emergence of Schaefer is extremely concerning, I think it is only going to get worse especially if the team is going to fall out of playoff contention, this is really concerning going forward as it wouldn’t surprise me if 3-4 years from now they begin talk about re-locating this team again if our attendance is garbage, I honestly believe the lighthouse project that Wang intended would have solved all our issues but its to late for that now
Been there once would never want to go back. Why the shuttles don’t drop you at the front door, or any entrance for that matter, makes no sense to me. Also waiting after the game in the cold for the shuttles to bring you back to the parking lot is a terrible experience.
Wonder if Kate Murray and all the NIMBY are still happy? They got very close to getting a casino on the coliseum land and fended it off. Lighthouse project was the best of both worlds. That parking lot isn’t going to sit empty forever. A building used 50ish nights a year isn’t sustainable, especially when it’s 50+ years old.
They built this shit on the queens border and games start at 7 on work nights lol
The fact that you have to be shuttled into the arena kills me. I’m disabled and boarding a bus to get a game after being in a car or train uses too much energy. Then fighting the crowds ect
Live in Boston. I’d love to go 😭
i used to go to so many. ubs is just too far. i miss the coliseum
I flew in from Miami to go to the game vs. St. Louis. My first time at UBS.
Was disappointed to see how many empty seats there were after that winning streak on the road.
The food at the concession stands was WAAAAY better than what you get at Amerant Bank Arena even after the Panthers going back and wanting to charge an arm and a leg for overcooked food.
Something has to be done, we finally have an arena, a decent team, and minimal people going.
I WISH I lived there and had the opportunity to go to games
This is not on the fans, this is on the owners.
They set the prices for tickets, parking and concessions. If they lower the prices, more people will come. Simple supply and demand. I’m sure there models are telling them the prices they are setting maximize profits, even if it leaves seats empty.
There are no student discounts, no group sales for schools or other non profit organizations. Took away garage parking for season ticket holders so that it could sit empty for a mall no one goes to. Filled that mall with stores and restaurants with no affiliation of attraction for sports fans.
On a side note – a lot of the empty seats are already bought and paid for. It’s just that people with infinite money have season tickets and don’t bother to show up.
I went to 1. Weekday games are super tough for me to go to but I’ll try to go to a couple more games on the weekend. But they’re also not cheap you know.
They really should allow the upper seats to come down when it’s that empty. By the middle of the second period the ushers should have a good sense of what’s not being used
I honestly don’t think this arena will ever consistently pack out as long as the prices are the way they are. Even buying a very cheap resale ticket, it is still going to cost you a bit more with train, parking and food / drink. And that is not even mentioning that it is kind of a pain to go to on a weeknight for a lot of people. It’s a beautiful arena but I do think they need to make things cheaper, especially parking.
I’ve actually gone more this season so far than I have in the past couple of years, but only because the team has been fun to watch and getting tickets has been pretty cheap if you don’t care about where you sit.
But this economy is rough for most people right now
it’s just too damn expensive. I sat in the last row for the Blues game and paid over $60 apiece. Bought three burgers and three sodas for me and my kids and that cost over $80.
This picture was taken during a TV timeout and its still ~70% full in some of the more expensive seats in the rink on a Tuesday? This is very average from what I’ve seen for the majority of the teams under these circumstances. Could it be better? Sure, but I’m not too concerned.
I go when my boss gives me his dime club seats
Tuesday. People work. Getting to arena is a nightmare. 7:30pm starts were better for working people.(NYC/LI commute is probably one of the worst in the US b/c the MTA/LIRR is incompetent)
On top of that, I am NOT spending $40 to park and walk 15 minutes in 20 degree weather or wait on a shuttle line after game. I am NOT spending $20 for a beer. LIRR to game is a nightmare and inconvenient unless you live on Ronk line. I watch at my local bar on the big screen with sound and pay $4/beer. That’ll do.
I just got back from Tampa/Isles game Sat.
$5 beers.
$20 tickets in the 100s
Free/cheap parking plenty of spots around arena.
$12 10 minute uber back to Air BNB.
Does anyone else look at crowds from other arenas on Tuesdays? Watch the NHL Network. Most teams are the same. Plus, if this is before the 1st period most people aren’t in their seat at puck drop.
Have the Islanders had/have attendance challenges? We do….get over it. It takes a lot to fill the building every night…..there are many reasons that we don’t need to rehash. If you can go to the game? Then go. If you can’t? Watch on TV or listen.
Drop this subject. Just accept that fact that attendance will always be an issue.
I go to one game a year, maybe two. It’s a pain in the neck to get to UBS from Suffolk.
Saw this on my feed. I’m a Devils fan and from Jersey. UBS is a pain in the ass when I went there for Disney on ice. The whole parking and shuttle is stupid.
Affordability is difficult for many these days. I’m sure there are many fans that would love to go but just can’t afford it.
Tickets to the devils game in section 309 are $106 with fees. Some have us have been outright priced out. 100+ for a regular season game, plus the kids and food for them is just too high
