Uncalled holding against Micah Parsons is a symptom of a much larger problem

“So hold ‘em if you got ‘em. The NFL wants yards and points and bets and viewers. Calling every hold that happens would directly impact each of those valuable factors of modern-day pro football.”
Considering how much national attention this is getting, I expect them to call at least a couple holding penalties.
While I agree with the “calling holding every time it happens” would make the sport unwatchable. They need to do something different. Teams are going to start getting pretty pissed when they shell out big bucks for star pass rushers that are getting reffed into obscurity.
I mean he doesn’t have a single one all year…that’s an insane stat
Holding is going to happen to matter what can’t call them all but if the dude has an entire arm around his neck and is looking up to god then idk maybe just throw one out
Mike florio is say it’s bad it must be bad. He’s a packer hater and if thinks it’s bad then maybe it’s not just us seeing through green and gold glasses.
The NFL has made it known that it wants to allow the passing game and the teams to score points. That is fine with me. If they are going to allow holding and not call it then the rulebook needs to change to go along with that.
There is a huge physical discrepancy between edge rushers and offensive linemen and that has required them to do more to stop rushers. If the league wants to allow them to do more, then change the rules. Until then, I will continue to get mad at truly egregious holding that is never called.
Much like society right now, it pays to not play by the rules.

Can we start with calling a holding penalty when the pass rusher is tackled?
Gross.
All my homies hate Mike Florio. We don’t need him making any arguments for us.
They don’t need to call all of them, that’s not viable for the sport. But the egregious ones at least need to be kept in check. There are multiple examples of and photos of it happening, quite literally, directly in front of and in full view of a ref. It’s absurd.
FFS there’s an image from the game that not only shows, unequivocally, Micah being held, but **the lineman has him in a chokehold!**.
I think most people can have a level headed response. It would be a game ruiner if they called every hold. It would be unwatchable.
However, I saw a stat since the last game that Parsons hasn’t drawn one holding penalty. I didn’t fact check it but if that’s true then that’s the other side of the ludicrous coin.
You can’t have a penalty every play but you also can’t not call these obvious ones.
The “they can’t call it every play” strawman falls apart when you realize they never call it. That’s such a lazy argument and lets the nfl off the hook. Most people are just asking them to call the insanely obvious ones.
Their system is broken right now. Asking them to fix it isn’t the same as demanding ticky tack flags every play.
As they say, if you ain’t cheatin you ain’t trying. Of course everyone will continue to hold if it doesn’t get called.
100%, if we start holding, we’ll get called for it. This article acts as if holding is never called. They just don’t call it against Micah for some reason. It’s like the refs / nfl have singled him out.
