While acknowledging that great Mitch has been at times, we should explore trades for a serviceable center who can protect the paint, catch lobs, hit 70% of his FTs and play over 60 games?
his orb% is 60% higher than his ft%
He’s not playable in the playoffs if his ft shooting doesn’t dramatically improve, which is a shame considering how awesome his rebounding is. I just don’t understand how an nba player does this, especially one that’s been in the league as long as he has. Like you have the best shooting coaches in the world
an awful night at the line for 99% of the league would improve mitch’s free throw %
There is no way any shooting coach on this planet would have you shoot that line driving ass shot which makes me think he’s just not listening or practicing what he’s told and defaults to his “natural” form.
trade this guy while teams believe they can fix him
Granny shot plz
Love Mitch BUT after all these years 7 never learned the proper form to shoot free throws COME on Mitch you can do it.
It’s actually turning into a big worry that the reason he’s on min restriction this season is so he lasts until the playoffs, but when we get to the playoffs he won’t even be playable because they’ll keep fouling him…..
His next contract is going to be very interesting when you consider his great rebounding, but bad offense, horrific FT shooting, and constant questions on his availability
Mitch is the only mainstay guy I’d be fine parting with for a Giannis trade. His rebounding and defense are elite but his absolutely horrible FT form and inability to stay healthy are insanely huge detriments to his game and the team in the playoffs.
Is it just me, or his form looks okay, he is just shooting too hard, way too much arm strength this season.
Additional Fun Fact:
Mitchell Robinson’s career FT% is still higher than Wilt Chamberlain, and only ranks #15 on the all time worst career numbers (Minimum 400 attempts)
(51.4% vs 51.1% for Wilt)
EDIT: An astounding 6 of the 14 players worse than him at the line played for The Knicks at some point in their careers.
Actually embarrassing
not a fun stat
Someone needs to explain to me how the guy can’t seem to get any arc on his shot at all. It defies logic.
If he keeps shooting FTs like this, he can’t play. Coaches will hack a Mitch until mike brown takes him out.
If he can’t play, he doesn’t deserve to be on the team. Put him in a trade for Giannis
More insane? He went 2 for 8 last night and his ft% went up.
Not so fun fact
hes 5 for 25 relax
I love Mitch but it’s kinda funny and insane to think these professional athletes who are always in the gym and get paid to do this can’t shoot a free throw. Not like he has an actual civilian job to sink 8 hours into.
What I don’t understand is why he can’t improve. I don’t care if you have to shame him by making him stay after practice to work on his form. Even just 50% ffs.
Maybe if #missRobinson started trending
He should just rocket launch the ball against the rim during free throws and get the rebound
I’ve been wondering….like, does he actually ever practice shooting, at all??
I can’t really comprehend someone in their 20s-30s who gets paid millions of dollars to play ball being that bad at shooting ALL the time. Like it seems like he legit is getting worse at shooting FTs, which I didn’t even think was possible, and he never ever attempts standard shots.
Its mind boggling, and for as much as I appreciate his rebounding, thats gonna be a major factor come playoffs time.
The second shot should really be a line drive off the front of the rim to rebound. Like he did last night, but intentional
