Lolmets! Can this week get any better????
I no longer have to watch Alonso and Nimmo be the most insufferable humans imaginable every time we play them. Bless up
Fuck the Mets ✊
I was under the impression that the Mets didn’t want him back and were shedding payroll. I am happy nonetheless, not complaining – just stating what I thought this was the outcome that NY wanted.
I have several friends in Baltimore, I’m thinking about getting an Orioles Alonso jersey for the hell of it
Started with Nimmo, then Diaz yesterday, Alonso today, who’s next? Lindor back to Cleveland for a handful of AA prospects?
Mets owner will prob throw stupid money at at least one of the big time FAs left on the market
No surprise, Pete Alonso was so done with the Mets after last season.
This is great to see, but let’s not take a victory lap yet. They could very well land Tucker and Bregman.
If the orioles paid him 155 million it means they would of went higher then the Phillies on schwarber

I wonder if they’re going all-in on Tucker, given how much they’re shedding and don’t seem to be offering any big contracts so far
perfect outcome
You hate to see it /s

The Mets not even extending an offer is insane. Ftm, always, but that seems both short-sighted and insanely disrespectful for a guy like Alonso.
And they didn’t even make a fucking offer! Absolutely hilarious.
The Mets REALLY didn’t want Pete Alonso for some reason.
Almost a year ago to the day (12/11/24) Mets Batflip on twitter posts:
Jeff passan on ESPN’s Baseball Tonight Podcast regarding Pete Alonso’s market: “The perception is that there is not much of one”.
Which came not long before he couldn’t secure a long term contract with anyone and resigns with the Mets for a one year deal.
Now, with no real prospects gunning for the 1B job in their minor league system, the Mets have not made a strong effort to resign him again.
Five offseasons into the the Cohen era and they’re losing key contributors to their core to the ORIOLES lmfaooooo small club
Let’s laugh it up now before they trade for Skubal 🥴
Its insane that the mets gave the largest ever contract to Soto just last year and are now entering rebuild mode.
Cool. What do we have to Answer the fucking Dodgers?
LOLmets
While this is awesome because I hate seeing these 2, does that mean Tucker is incoming for them? That would suck.
TBH l would’ve preferred they kept him. l can see him falling off a cliff in about two years.
Lost a ny fan favorite, lost their longest serving player on the team, and lost their closer because he wants to play for a team that actually makes the playoffs. Ooof
