I remember some on here fantasizing about us getting him. Looks like a short term deal was never gonna be possible. Good luck Baltimore hope you don't regret years 3 through 5.

  1. The fact that a DH and a DH playing first base got long term, 30 mil aav deals is wild. Youre reallllllly gonna have to pay for good hitters in this market. Doesn’t bode well for the Guards chances of adding any hitting.

  2. That was my reaction. If Orioles can sign Alonso to a five year deal we have no excuses

  3. We don’t need to bring in expensive free agents. We need to buy out Kwan’s 2 remaining arbitration years with another year or two and maybe a year or two of team options. Keep the squad we have and build from within. You can’t build from within if we can’t even keep good-but-not-great guys like Kwan

  4. At this point we’re just never gonna add anyone. So since my team never wants to spend should I also not spend and get free tickets every year.

  5. I probably would have felt better if he would have went to a bigger market team but it feels crazy that a team that has a similar small market payroll as us ended up making this deal and this isn’t something we couldn’t have pulled off. So frustrating but obviously expected.
