  1. I wonder how long he’s with the organization. He’s going to be very high demand around the league.

  2. Rightfully so. Popkins was brilliant last year and has already woven himself into the fabric of the Jays’ offensive identity. Well done and a deserved recognition of his work this last season

  3. I gotta say this year the entire coaching staff did a hell of a job. The way none of the players blasted any of the coaches or teammates speaks volumes.

  4. Yes! I can’t recall how many times I heard players mention him and his staff in interviews as being incredibly helpful. Very well-deserved! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  5. Good for him. He made an enormous difference to our team’s performance this year.

I remember reading an interview/deep-dive piece sometime during the Jays’ big late-June run that distilled his entire hitting philosophy down to:

    > Instead of no-no-no-no-yes-swing, our hitters should be thinking yes-yes-yes-yes-no-hold.

Seems to have worked an absolute treat.

  6. This is where the accolades should go … RIP to all the Schneider supporters who thought that he should take credit for the wizardry that Popkins provided. The real ones know that it wasn’t Schneider, it was Popkins all along.
